  1. All you really have to do is attack him. I've played with him, and against him, albeit only with Ressers. With Doug, it's as easy as two, possibly three actions to kill him. With Nicodem, I simply paralyze him, then throw punk zombies on him. Another thing is throwing Whispers From Beyond on him from the Hanged, which negates all healing on him. That hurts most strategies involving Izamu. I know from experience that Collette just laughs at him with Dissapearing Act. If anything, I think Izamu is going to make Resser players worse at the game by using him as a massive crutch. He's good, yes, but he can and will die. And when he's dead, that player is going to flounder, even if playing Yan Lo. That 10+ Crow isn't always going to be in your hand. I'm actually not that big of a fan of Izamu. I love him with Yan Lo, but would rather take the Dead Rider in most situations with our other Masters.
  2. You can't do it because you no longer have wounds to take. You can move, or make an attack with their slow to die.
  3. I don't think that's true.
  4. I wouldn't take him with Yan Lo. I usually take him with Doug, though.
  5. I had fun time using a full Freikorps list using Doug.
  6. Don't forget about The Drowned.
  7. Von Schill is probably the best reason to use it. At least in my book.
  8. The Drowned. Riptide is an excellent way to hit a few models at once without actually doing blast damage, and they can't be lured by Oirans or the twins. If Riptide does go off, , they take a few wounds, then you just park the Drowned next to them and continue to Riptide, ideally in the middle of a lot of enemies. They'll eventually die and explode. Meanwhile Doug can be ripping other things up, or doing scenario. They can also pull a model within 4" towards them, which in some cases would be enough for a Scalpel sling if you set it up right.
  9. Today I gave Izamu a rancid transplant then dissected him. I didn't want to, but Doug had to get rid of him somehow.
  10. I used the two in the back for Ashigaru until they released as well.
  11. Our Malifaux playgroup plays Bushido once in a while, so we have a lot of the models. I ended up using the guy on the right with the two swords for Toshiro. I modded one off, painted him as a zombie, and with his banner he looks a lot like Toshiro.
  12. Most of my success comes from using Seamus and Sue. Having +2 WP while handing out -2 seals the deal on most games. The rest of the list can be made according to personal preference.
  13. Right, which is what I said. Still, I never usually have a hard time getting the Crows I need for it, so maybe I'm just lucky. In any case, it's a riot to play, but it doesn't always work out. In one game I had the Dead Rider move Izamu up the 10 inches, then Izamu charged his 9 to Sidir, killing him Turn 1. With the Grave Spirit being halfway protected from both 50mm bases, I was able to keep most of his list in combat with the two 3inch ranges while Nicodem and Night Terrors did the strategy, with some Decays healing them, targeting the totem. That game is just worked out, I know, but it's fun when it does.
  14. I think of anyone, Nicodem can swing it the easiest due to Reanimator. But, that's not something you want to absolutely count on.
  15. It's worth mentioning that Yan-Lo himself is incredibly versatile with his Chi paths, on top of Izamu. That being said, Nicodem has been my favorite Master ever since this game released.
  16. The reason I went with Yan Lo is because Sklertic sounded like he wanted a simple list focusing on Izamu. Yan Lo does this easiest, as he can bring him back, heal him, etc. Obviously Nicodem is a great choice as well. But he has a harder time healing him with Decay due to Immune to Influence, although you can bounce it off your other models if the situation is right. And if Izamu ever dies with Nicodem, he's gone for good. Although then you have three Corpse Counters to play with, which he may or may not be able to use due to model restrictions. As for Seamus, he's not a bad choice, just slow. And people can just ignore him at that point. If he wasn't Immune to Influence there might be a way to Lure him around the board all willy nilly, but unfortunately that's not the case.
  17. Probably Yan Lo's then, you get the most bang for your buck off the bat with him. For a simple Yan Lo crew, you could do Ressurectionists Crew - 35 - Scrap Yan Lo -- 7 Pool Soul Porter [2ss] Ashigaru [4ss] Ashigaru [4ss] Ashigaru [4ss] Chiaki, the Niece [5ss] Izamu, the Armor [10ss] The Drowned [4ss] If you don't like the Drowned (Or don't have them), you can do dogs instead, or anything fairly quick for objectives. This list is just the Yan Lo box, with Izamu and a blister of Drowned. You can build it up from there as Toshiro/Yin release, or other Resser models that strike your fancy. Night Terrors can do well as well, but generally go outside of Yan's 8 inch Chi range. But, sometimes you have to.
  18. Yan Lo, obviously. He never truly dies in this list most games, and you can heal him pretty easily. The totem can drive him around like a bus. Nicodem can bump his stats, making him even better. He can be slow in this list, though. But you can drive him around with the Dead Rider if you want to go that route. Kirai can make him a spirit, then Swirling Spirits him around the table with Night Terrors. Half damage then Object 2 is pretty nice. He could fit in a Doug list, as anything can fit in a Doug list. He'd just be a little slow. Seamus probably doesn't need him.
  19. Ya, I make the odd Necropunk or two depending on the Strategy I'm doing.
  20. Just read Oiran, they need a 6 and either a Mask or Crow, as they have dual casting. So not quite as good as belles, but good enough in most cases.
  21. Wait, why wouldn't Lure work when you needed it? It needs a 4 to go off, and is very hard to resist if you cheat a fairly high card. I have no idea on Oiran though, as I haven't really read them. Because I have Belles.
  22. I do know what you mean. I was at GenCon this past year, and one of the workers at the Wyrd stand was talking about how bad Ressers are/how Yan Lo will save it. I hadn't played in over a year, but that in itself made me get back into the game, because apparently someone was doing something wrong.
  23. On the Punk Zombie front, I'm not sure if I'd run them with Yan Lo without Toshiro. They do a lot of damage, but can die easily. Having a way to bring them back, along with them gaining +2 fate to attacks, is pretty good.
  24. I've had a grand ol' time running The Drowned with him, but he can only do it if ran as a Rezzer. Which you should, because we're awesome. Some people like running Canine Remains as well as they eventually all just turn into a lot of Chi.
