  1. So a construct, undead, nightmare or spirit regardless of whether it has Immune to Influence will never fall back due to the Mental Anguish trigger as they aren't living and can't suffer morale duels and "The Box Opens" can't remove that as it's not an immunity... right?

That i find interesting as every piece of advice and tactica i've seen on the forums about using Pandora has mentioned that as Mental Anguish wasn't a morale duel itself (just fall back as if it had failed one) it would affect non-living models... oh well, a whole lot of people need re-educating on this one then

Had to go check as i didn't trust my memory, but indeed you can http://wyrd-games.net/forum/showpost.php?p=346592&postcount=127 opens up some pretty nice options for Rezzers, Avatar Ramos & Neverborn (primarily Zoraida but anyone who brings Widow Weaver could benefit)... can't think of anyone else capable of summoning special forces mid-game
  4. Canine Remains... not amazed by performance in game, not amazed by the models, and painting dead dogs that look "right" is proving to be a royal pain Also really dislike painting Pandora, just not enthused by the mini at all and that's making it a real struggle to work on

Very true Dsmiles, i think most people are, it's just such a good system I'll try to get some WiP stuff up in the next day or so and keep the first post for completed models... i mustn't let this die like i have when i've done this kind of thing before And more minis have arrived... Ronin to go with my Freikorps, some puppets just because i love the little buggers and wanted to swap them in for the standard minis (Pandora, Joss & a Gunslinger) and a Doppelganger, something i've been putting off getting for a while

Belles definitely, and i'll second Von Schill, nasty ranged backup for McMourning is golden... though Huntroll, you can now summon special forces if you included Von Schill http://wyrd-games.net/forum/showpost.php?p=346643&postcount=132 The other thing i'll mention is to double check McMournings personal scheme, pretty sure those 5BP's have to come from enemy masters/totems... makes it very tricky

Well, let me see, started playing Malifaux about 6months or so ago and it really got the club fired up... i say club there's 4 of us who regularly play Even though i was the last one to buy in and get a crew i think I've now overtaken all the others So... painting... I'm not much of a painter, preferring to game instead but I've started taking a small setup in to work with me and i paint in my lunch breaks and occasionally in the evenings The result is that I've not started experimenting with blending and you won't be blown away by astonishing works of art, there's only going to be some pretty basic table top quality minis turning up on here but turn up they will (honest) And on to some of the minis themselves... Neverborn - fair few reps that are having actual minis bought up too, but i love the Hell Dorado sculpts and couldn't bear not to find a home for them in game My Daemonic Twins - Lelu & Lilitu Twisted Silurids Stitched - love these sculpts Rest of the Neverborn - mostly bare metal, few WiP Pandora (going to be using puppet version as i don't like either normal sculpt), Zoraida, Voodoo Doll, Collodi, 4 Marionettes, 3 Wicked Dolls, 3 Sorrows, Candy & Kade Freikorps Von Schill himself isn't there as thanks to a mould line across his head he's now in desperate need of a hat or a full head swap... Also got Taelor, a Convict Gunslinger, 2 Ronin & a Desperate Merc to join them Arcanists - Ramos & Co to follow... That i can answer, Transposition can't be used on yourself because it has a resist and therefore counts as an attack, Fill with Stones doesn't have a resist and i believe there's nothing else stopping you target yourself with it I think the key is going to be to learn to be patient with him and go after some schemes early before jumping on my opponents, try to get them to spread out a bit more The defensive stance tricks are definitely going to have to be tried, particularly with Collodi handing out fast it shouldn't limit the crew's speed much at all Cheers for the advice

I've voted Proxy + Stat card... but i'd actually have to find a proxy that really fitted what i want, and then i'd buy the actual figure as well Not only do you then have the actual figure that potentially with a headswap might be more appealling and to use in case some people have an issue with proxies, but you then have the card too It's something i've done/am doing with the Twins, Silurids, Chompy (as i missed out on a Nightmare one) and custom convict gunslingers for each faction

So i had my first game using Collodi last night, 25ss vs Lady J and i think i need some advice on survival tactics for Collodi's "pack" of marionettes A quick bat rep to give an idea where i'm coming from... Collodi (cache 5), 4 Marionettes, 3 Wicked Dolls, 2 Stitched vs Lady J (cache 7), Scales, Judge, Witchling, Marshall, Austringer I re-flipped Reconoitre and got Line in the sand and my opponent had Turf War and i got a real taste of Collodi's insane speed from turn 1 even though i forgot about the marionettes having fast... 2 markers lit turn 1 Turn 2, lit another 2 markers (1 with a wicked doll far off on a flank) and made a start on killing myself a judge, 1 wicked doll activation and 1 marionette leaving him on 4w with poison 2 and an easy kill for turn 3, which i did along with leaving the marshall on 1w But then things took a turn for the worse, not terminally but on turn 3 alone, after collodi's alpha strike, i lost 2 wicked doll & 2 marionettes (damn judge's blades & bullets on slow to die) and in the first activation of turn 4 another marionette & 6w from Collodi himself In response i healed up collodi, made a second marionette and had the marionettes pull him out of the cluster of J & co and letting the stitched explode the witchling ruining my opponents day and knowing i could happily keep collodi away from J for the rest of the game if needed Now, at that point with only J, Scales & Austringer left, a Stitched still to activate and time constraints closing in my opponent called it and we wrapped it up for the night So, Collodi rocks when it comes to covering the board even when you forget fast on marionettes for a turn, my opponent bricked up when he realised just how much speed i could apply but came off far worse in terms of strategy despite the bloody nose it gave me when i did leap into combat My issue was that thanks to guild crit striking for generally 3w weak hits, whenever he was able to get a hit in it seemed dolls were exploding left right and center (and the cards were not in his favour last night, he was flipping 6's to my 10+'s when it came to his attacks) So if Collodi is in charge, is it worth spending a turn or two filling some dolls with stones before you go careening accross the board? Is there some trick to keeping marionettes up and about that i've missed? or is it just keeping high cards back for def flips? Is it worth trying to yo-yo Collodi & Co into and back out of combat again against a bricked opponent? And yes, i know, run him with Zoraida and i will be doing so, just figured it's be good to get the hang of him before i leap in and try to learn both at once

  15. Original Sculpt Ramos & Kade Kade is so wonderfully twisted as a model concept and the original Ramos just looks exactly like he should, powerful yet relaxed

Probably my favourite all round is Ramos... just an awesome theme and aesthetic Aside from Ramos, probably McMourning as he has an awesomely fun playstyle, only just ahead of Kirai who has a nicer look, but as i got my entire Kirai crew pre-painted i just don't quite have the same attachment to it... one day i'll rectify that by stripping them down and painting them myself

I can't believe i've done it again, for some reason i just can't relate "end of the month" with "bring painted stuff back"... this month's painted stuff at the club - 2 Freikorpsman, Freikorps Specialist, Freikorps Librarian Still, in the last day or so i have finished up an Electrical Creation so i can at least post something before Monday , pic will go up late tonight

Relatively new to the game still myself but i'll throw a couple of arguments in with the caveat that i don't have book 3 and haven't tried out lazarus 2- Evasive means he still at least takes some damage if he uses grenades right up close, that makes sense, making him immune to them just seems to go a bit too far 3- Disengaging strikes are a big part of the game, being able to ignore them completely is quite powerful to have built in to a model, i'm guessing wyrd had already considered that in giving him melee expert instead 4- If you're looking to include any kind of mechanic based on blasts best to stick with 50mm like every other blast effect, 75mm marker is a serious upgrade and likely too far... and a duel to hit each model, that's going to slow things up and with access to abilities from any construct that could get out of hand if something could give him a cb boost... it'll also allow any models to be affected by triggers 5- 3x75mm markers, i really hope your kidding as you've also suggested a (0) walk for him and the two combined just scream obscenely over-powered 6- Reducing a targets def to 0 for the minor penalty of having to center it, a lot of models, particularly masters would be hosed by this, at least with the current rules they have their def and the ability to avoid lower def "magnets" to keep from taking blast damage

See thinking about it afterwards that's what i started thinking, although Raptor isn't worded as a may At the time we just flipped for it and gave it to the austringer for the 1 shot where there was no LoS Ninja'd - Headcase, that's an interesting change... i'll have to check that our Marcus player has up to date cards
  24. This came up on the weekend and we couldn't find an answer Austinger's Raptor rule for no LoS required vs the Silurid's Silent rule for can't ignore LoS when targetting it Which rule takes precedence?

Nice, those Malcontent sewer bases are excellent... shame he hasn't got to 40mm ones yet, though as i've only got to fit Ryle & a Guardian on mediums i can always mount the 30mm bases like raised inserts TattyTed, yeah i have noticed that with Fenris, some of the ranges are missing some sizes... luckily i'm not planning on a Peacekeeper and only need 2 40mm's as i'm not taking the crew to particularly large numbers
