  1. Don't play Nicodem so getting corpse counters upfield hasn't really been called for and i've only just finished my Bete Noir conversion to really give her a run over other options... I really should get Nico and try him out too, it's not like i don't have enough rezzers (barring some Mindless zombies and maybe more than a single Punk Zombie)
  2. Very intrigued to see your experiences of canines, i've found them to be far too fragile and not bringing enough (bar as an early corpse for bodyparts)... though having Nephilim as a regular opponent will do that too... add black blood to somehting canines hate with their 1" range bite and need to swarm things
  3. I think part of the disparity between the Black and Red Jokers is that when a Black Joker ruins your damage you've likely only pushed to get a flat or single positive flip, it's rare to try and push for multiple positive except as a way to counter negatives... Red joker trumping several negatives feel far stronger... maybe the Red should only pull that extra damage on a cheatable damage flip otherwise only causing flat severe damage
  4. I think the 8 came from 2 attacks both at triple negative, each attack has 4 cards being flipped for damage, 2 attacks, 8 potential chances for the joker to come up for damage... Personally the biggest issues i've found with Seamus' survivability is that with Df4 and HtW2 people tend to play for triggers to get big weak damage instead from Flay, Brutal or Critical Strike... and unlike McMourning he doesn't heal that reliably by much, activate him too early in the turn and people will nickle and dime him pretty quickly while playing the odds for a Red Joker to finish him at the same time
  5. Finally got this shot taken I'll get some group shots taken on Sunday at the club
  6. I'll recommend most of the same stuff as the others, though i'll add a few more too... I've had great success running a Guardian with Lady J to keep her safe as she closes the distance and Watchers as very handy objective runners
  7. I'll chime in on the definitely not hate line for Seamus... i've always had a blast every time i've played him even though i'm well behind him needing a slight tweak or boost
  8. Guild - Sonnia, only because of J's buffing abilities and not having seen her on the field much throwing fire around... though i'd say it's pretty close between her & J Arcanists - Raspy... just so slow, even with all the damage she can put out... and dependant on including some frozen heart models which aren't that cost efficient it seems Neverborn - Pandora/Zoraida... purely because of learning curves, no other reason Rezzers - Seamus... the low SS cache and the fact that he really isn't as survivable as the others (go McMourning) on top of his non-avatar having several abilities that only work against living crews puts him below Nicodem and his lack of speed to me... doesn't stop me playnig him and enjoying him though Outcasts - pass... Von Schill led I never feel like i have enough stones, Viks led i've really been struggling to feel like i have enough minis on the table, Levi has that horrendous learning curve that if you mess up and leave waifs open to being attacked you fail hard... the gremlins i just haven't seen on the field Henchmen led crews - Molly all the way, though aside from Collodi & Von Schill it's theory-faux for me
  9. Cool idea... but i'd go with: Mal = Von Schill Zoe = Taelor Jayne = Convict gunslinger - but modelled with Vera rather than paired pistols... or possibly a trapper Doctor = Librarian, definitely Shepherd Book = if only you could include Sue with Von Schill as that'd be perfect, not sure otherwise Kayleigh & Wash i'm really unsure about... if they didn't kill themselves off i'd be inclined to say Desperate Mercs And i like the idea of River as Jack Daw... otherwise, Hamelin?... i think the only other thing that'd come close combat wise is the Viks, both of them, as River... if only you could start with the Avatar form out That's all i got for now
  10. The end of 6 months already... damn... that came round fast and it hasn't dented the ranks of bare metal all that much This month, with preparing for a new baby and getting in to Old Republic taking up far more time than expected I've only completed 2 figures... a large steampunk Arachnid and a Soulstone Miner... pics will go up soon That said I'll definitely be attempting to keep painting away and getting something up each month, this has gained me a bit of motivation
  11. I knew I'd heard those phrases before... how could i not recognize Visionaries... shame on me
  12. To me the idea had quite a bit of merit... but then the special forces reminder from His Fattness bought me back down to a resounding no... i just don't think i'd want to run without the assets, particularly if i'm looking to manifest
  13. Yeah, if mistaken identity was just a shade more reliable he'd be worth it... however, for the moment he's one of the things i've intentionally left out of my Seamus re-vamp, so definitely sticking with Grave Spirit or no totem for me
  14. Not sure if terrible is quite the right phrase... but certainly very VERY situational He's saved my bacon once with his switch out mechanic that i can't remember the name of and proved useful blowing up Ice Pillars in another game... but for 2SS, when he needs to focus strike with the flintlock to be effective, he's not a great pick Yeah, most of the time i'd rather bring the Grave Spirit or just no totem, but every now and again he has his uses... and he does look awesome
  15. I'm not sure how the ruling debilitates the entire use of the librarian... Arcane Reservoir still fuels a librarian just as well as you'd assumed it had before if you're only running one 1 extra card -> 1 card to discard to activate Furious casting is no different from flurry in that it's not essential to use, just handy... and multiple reservoirs wouldn't have helped that anyway The only time cards will get tight where they wouldn't have if arcane reservoir stacked is IF you are running multiple librarians and/or Jack Daw at the same time
  16. *facepalm* and i even use Ramos on occasion so i should know better... not been using him enough obviously, time to finish magnetizing up my spiders and get him back on the board, particularly as i've just got my Avatar of Invention through
  17. Aside from the possible balance of being able to sac molly for her abilities and bring her back, which as i haven't played her i won't try to get in to... perhaps allow Molly to be summoned back by "Arise my Sweet" if she was hired to start with? would that be a middle ground between fluff and practicality Though i think Mike is right about not necessarily balancing him by his ability to summon... better to balance him by his own merits
  18. I've heard people getting good use from the Mechanical Rider for Hoffman and seen quite a few mentions on the forums of Nino, Santiago and Francisco... otherwise i think the lists above seem pretty solid Have also locally seen Hoffman bring a pair of Ronin for anti-armour that worked very nicely I think as long as you have a core of constructs for Hoffman i don't think you can really go that wrong
  19. This Plus, is there any limit on a crew containing more than one henchman? Cos if not there'd be the option to hire Von Schill & then summon Molly as you can summon in a second special force... Upping Seamus to 4-5 Stones would be my first want to bring him up the ranks... and the 1 point extra Cb would be amazingly useful Also liking either Instinctual or bumping one of his zeros to a (1)
  20. Don't take this the wrong way but i honestly can't decide if i love this or not On the one hand i can see them sliding easily on Terraclips and i've never really worried about chipping resin bases from the bottom But on the other hand it's a nice look, i can see it helping to keep a model in place on other terrain, it'll stop rough edges on bases potentially damaging Terraclips terrain over time... and it'll certainly lessen the likelihood of resin bases chipping on terrain Yeah... so not sure if i'll buy them, but, what's your ebay store?
  21. Would still cost another AP to move up to the counters as they drop in the centre of the 50mm base... but still saves a nice 4AP for 3 scrap counters And yeah, can definitely attack your own models... good for throwing blast effects out as you can cheat down the Def card to get a cheatable damage flip
  22. Loving the suspended marionettes, again might be stealing this look, had been considering making them look like they were suspended from above but you've proved floating certainly works
  23. Couldn't agree more... from reading up plenty before trying him i run Seamus with 8ss and only 2-3 Belles and haven't had TOO bad a run with him, though a couple of times i've had to kill off badly wounded friendly models to ensure Seamus' survival and once had to use the Copycat's ability to swap places But i've only lost him once, but doing so won me the game He's not Lady J easy to kill, but he's no nightmare like Colette/Kirai Back on topic though, good to see this write up... i agree with most of the stuff to do with McMourning, will be interested to see it reflected in the play experience on models i haven't tried much and will be very interested to see how Nicodem fares
