  1. The paints have stayed the same but when they changed from lead to white metal they took a mini out of each blister and added £1-2 to the price. I wouldn't put it past them to do the same with the paints.
  2. Welcome to the forums! It's worth checking out the henchmen list to see if there's one near you. They can arrange games and introduce you to other players, etc. Also check out Ratty's malifaux page, there's all sorts of useful stuff on there.
  3. I'm glad it's made it's way onto their forums, maybe they'll do something about it. Although saying that, they'll probably just do their usual trick of making the pots 10% smaller and 10% more expensive hoping that no-one will notice.
  4. I agree with Mike that it is enough on it's own. As a reformed GW player, although it has got me back into the hobby it really has made me see GW games in a very different light and I certainly won't be going back to them. Although the low initial cost of Malifaux soon goes out of the window, it still works out a lot cheaper than the larger scale games and you don't feel rushed to get things painted because of the sheer volume of stuff.
  5. Just had a listen to your podcast, good stuff! Nice that it's been done by someone so local too.

  6. Welcome to the forums, your crew is looking really good so far.
  7. Cheers for the insight into why it stinks.
  8. For a while now something has been bugging me and I think it's finally time to seek an answer to a great mystery. Why oh why does GW devlan mud smell like arse crack? I've got other companies equivalent paints and they smell fine, I thought it was just my bottle until my mate mentioned the same thing. Is it one of the ingredients that make it smell like that or is it just the inherant nature of GW starting to seep into their product line?
  9. These look awesome so far, the trouser legs on Seamus make the mini look so much better! I look forward to seeing more of your work.
  10. Some of the best painting I've seen, look forward to seeing more!
  11. I do the same method as Webmonkey for the eyes and it's much easier that way. I use off white and dark grey (usually bleached bone and adeptus battlegrey) for them though, it makes them more subtle and makes it less obvious if they're less than perfect.
  12. That'd be a good looking crew even if it wasn't painted in 4 hours, nice work!
  13. Very nice all round. Loving your peacekeeper bit I think the executioner takes it for my fave, the effect on his claws is awesome!
  14. Samael Hopkins is definitely worth a look. I don't personally like the mini for him but between flaming bullets and rapid fire, he can dish out far too much damage to ignore. He's a bit of a glass cannon so if you take him, he makes a good target for the frame for murder scheme. Also the executioner is worth a look, the mini is really nice and he can be really useful in game too. I've found he's good against a lot of weaker opponents because he heals all wounds if he kills something. Against stronger opponents his low defense can be bad if you can't finish them in melee in one go. Other than that, the Ortega box is a good next step as they can all pretty much just go straight into any guild crew and add a lot of punch.
  15. I like your penny farthing idea. There are plenty of metal penny farthing and boneshaker ornaments that could be adapted. The riders top half could be steampunk jen and I'm not quite sure about the bottom half. Could use Samael Hopkins' legs maybe, bend them into place and green stuff on a skirt?
  16. Maybe the neverborn stole his shoes and he had to borrow a pair of sonnia's?
  17. Best thing to do is get some spiders (minimal cost) and latch on to lower her defense. It then makes her a much less daunting target to try and get rid of. You'll need to get something making ranged attacks to keep her busy while you try and get in there though or she'll just whirling death everything!
  18. I'd swap out Alice for either the rider or Kaeris, both have benefits depending on the strategy (plus you wouldn't have to buy SA minis too).
  19. Irrespective of how useful they are in game, which would you rather put on the table? A rabid looking little beast or a camp looking guy in a posing pouch? I always use the Wendigo and find he suits my style of play a lot more than EoP does. I'm sure most people will think I'm stupid for going down that route but Wyrd wouldn't give options if there wasn't a benefit to each one.
  20. If you check out the henchmen list, the one nearest you can normally point you in the directions of clubs and demos in your area, that's generally a good place to start.
  21. I wish my painting skills were that rusty, they look awesome!
  22. Loving the bases on your night terrors, nice work!
  23. Looking good, especially liking the gunsmith.
