  1. And when the Seamus woos, he still says "I kill you," On that you can rely...
  2. The bowler does suit him quite a bit :-) I look forward to seeing how he looks while painted.
  3. She looks gorgeous! Very nicely done! As for what I'm sculpting currently I have the beginings of some over-sized (unintentionally) parasols for converting a pair of Hollow Waifs to Belles
  4. Ok, so I've been busy painting and haven't had a chance to pic up the camera. The other day though I finally managed to and I have a few updates that I'll try to intersperse over the weekend. Here we go... Seamus Sybelle Belles Copy Cat Killer Seamus Group Shot I'll let these soak in while I work on the cropping for McMourning and some other pieces I have done.
  5. Well done! For some strange reason the clockwork base + your paint job made me think of the ballroom scene from Labyrinth. Sometimes grainy can work really well. I have a tendency to do zombie paint jobs "quick and dirty" because they get a grainier, flakier crust, er, look. My zombies are nice, dried, old/rotted corpses, not the newer, fleshier, chewy and juicy ones.
  6. Why vote for the lesser evil? I vote Cthulhu too! Cause, c'mon, we need more Lovecraft in Malifaux! ...I might be slightly biased
  7. As pgbsamurai said, I used brass rod. I believe it was 1/16th sized rod, cut and filed to fit into the base. It was incredibly tedious work, and using instant mold I was able to make the process a lot easier, though they don't look as nice. The advantages to using brass rod are that it looks nicer and adds a lot of weight to the bottom, but the downsides are that it takes a lot of time to get one and pinning the feet is very difficult. The pros to using instant mold are that you can get more with less effort, though the finished product doesn't look as nice as the brass rods, and there's less weight on the base.
  8. So I finally found a few minutes to take out my camera, snap about 100 photos, sort/sift out the chaff, upload, crop, and now I'm sharing some shots of the nearly complete (except the bases) of some WIP for my Kirai Crew. I gotta touch up the tounges a little, and obviously the bases, but what you see is the working final product :-) Seishin Close up of a pair Gaki 1 Gaki 2 Gaki Conversion (Gaki 2) Gaki Pair Gaki Pair Other Side And this wasn't an intention shot, but I liked it Gaki: The Movie
  9. I know exactly what you mean! I've been doing a lot of quick work, and it shows in some areas, other areas I've taken it slow. But I'm hoping, especially after Gen Con, to take a slower and more methodical approach. I'm currently waiting for a Raspy crew to arrive, but they won't get painted before Gen Con, still have a lot of Ressers (including 2 Onryo).
  10. Your stuff is look great! I don't know if it was the camera angle for the first set of pictures or not, but it looks like some of the paint is looking a bit grainy. I've been noticing that with my own stuff as well, and I've recently rediscovered the joys of thinning out your paints. The latter stuff you have posted didn't seem to have that issue, so maybe it's just me ;_;
  11. I might just have to do that sometime soon :-) All my time is currently dedicated to getting my Ressers ready for Gen Con, I might even update my poorly started painting thread later tonight. I've got either a little over or a little under 20 models to do still.
  12. Think you can make space for a guy from the center of IL?
  13. Absolutely amazing work! There is a line between a painted mini and artwork, you crossed over to artwork miles back! Simply amazing!
  14. I love your McMourning! The striped shirt and bag-o-spare-parts really caught my eye! I gotta get off my rear, stop painting, and update my own painting thread '
  15. The miniature looks great! Though the camera angle made me think he should be holding a microphone, in a spot light, and crooning out some sort of Zombie-love song
  16. What if there was a pimp model to help keep the Belles in line? Otherwise a French Maid, Geisha, even a masked/fancy dress Belle would be sweet
  17. How do they keep track of schemes at tournaments? Some schemes require you to list/note things secretly, is there a way to keep track of that?
  18. Splendid work my fellow Resser! Nothing is more inspiring than seeing a well done paint job :-)
  19. WOW! Very well done, very sexy! THAT is some good painting :-)
  20. Wow! That is an incredible work of art you have there! Is it a table piece, or a display/contest-winning piece?
  21. Usually I use a variety of colors, like a bit of orange, pink, yellow, brown, etc, on an undercoat of Charred Brown (I use Vallejo paints at the moment). When it's all done the base looks really out of place and waaaaay too colorful, which is when I use my Sepia Ink, which does a nice job of toning down the brightness/cartooniness and giving it a really nice look. I'll see if I can't get up some pics of my Belles to give you a better idea, or you can check out my The Hanged since I used the same tactic/technique there as well. Of course, I"m also open to suggestions
  22. I love your base, makes So'mer have a, "Git off mah lawn ye dirty runts!" look to him!
  23. Thanks for the wonderful compliments! I had a hard time deciding what color scheme I wanted to go with, and have spent several hours over the past few weeks deciding what to give him. I am really satisfied with how he turned out. I'm pretty good at painting reds, having had plenty of practice with my Khador army for War Machine. @Fetid Strumpet: Yes, I would love to try out a brawl! We just gotta find another Neverborn player to terrorize
  24. The bases aren't done, but the models themselves are painted. I REALLY like how his coat turned out and wanted to share. I have Sybelle and the Belles done as well, and while I'm ok with how they turned out I feel I could have done better with them. I plan to upload the pics to my finished thread later on this week, but it's zombie week (I have a lot of zombies to paint) so I'm going to focus on that and hopefully upload over the long weekend
  25. I love your Lilitu, the dress is incredible! I've always wanted to try more sheer/silky clothes, but have no idea how to go about getting the effect. Care to share your secrets?
