  1. I have and he has actually become my main beater. I find the Desolation Engine more survivable and when he does go down he puts 2 Aboms in my opponents crew to wreck casts and shut down 0s. I don't own Killjoy, so I haven't tried him much, but he is on my shopping list. Bishop is good at locking down opposing models, but awesome at schemes, with 3 AP and often fast. I usually take Taelor as a secondary beater when I am facing Ressers or a possibly Construct heavy list. Truth be told, they are all great choices with their own special uses. I'm not sure any of them has any real down side.

  3. Malifaux Tournament on Sunday at 9:00 AM Here is the blurb straight from the con book. Come join us for our first Con event of second edition. Single faction, 50 soulstone, 3 round tournament. 2nd edition wave 1 and 2 models allowed. Scheme pools pregenerated for all players each round. We will have custom themed tables, loads of fun, and great prizes. I am super excited about my first big tournament of the new edition. Already it is looking to have the largest turn out yet. Convention badge is required, which gets you into the con and the vendor hall. The Malifaux event itself is $4. There is plenty to do on Friday and Saturday, with a few events starting as early as Thursday. A great venue, and a new annex to allow more room for us miniature gamers. More info, as well as a downloadable events pdf can be found at http://www.denvergamers.org This event is on the heals of the official release of wave 2 cards, so please bring them. I will have limited supplies on hand. We are also very new player friendly, with previous cons boasting all skill levels. It is a great time, and I look forward to seeing everyone there.
  4. Karina's uprgrade is super nice against summoners as well.
  5. Come visit us for our monthly hobby night! We start at around 7PM and run until we can't see our brushes(usually midnight). We run the whole thing in the Hobby Town down stairs game area. If you come after 7, use the door down the stairs on the South East corner. If its shut, just bang. We work on all models, Wyrd, GW, anything. We have award winning painters on hand to answer questions and give advice. There are plenty of tables, plenty of light, and plenty of friends. And for those in the Achievement league, coming down and working on your Malifaux models if worth 4 achievement points! http://www.wyrd-games.net/showthread.php?46917-Fort-Collins-CO-M2E-Achievement-League
  6. One day to go, achievement sheets are hot off the presses, and we are ready to go! I just wanted to add that there are 20+ achievements and only 2 of them are for winning any games. This league is not about winning like many of the grow league I, and others, have run. This one is all about playing games, win or lose. Its a great way to try different things, set painting goal, and have fun doing it. The more you play, the more points you earn. Various achievements include: Playing multiple factions, both as and against Attending the November Hobby Night Playing with a borrowed crew Playing small game if you are starting out, or large ones if you want to bring everything Just showing up and playing one game a week will earn you 6 points(1 per week, plus one for every 3 games) In the end, its all down to a random draw. The more you play, the more chances you have, but one achievement could be enough to win. This is a low pressure, (hopefully) high fun event, and a great excuse to play Malifaux. I will begin registrations at 10:30 and will be available till 4 tomorrow, and all day next Saturday until the late hours for Hobby Night. Feel free to join any time.
  7. Do models that make attacks via Pounce have to make Terrifying checks before they make the attack? This came up when a Teddy Gobbled you upped a Belle, but seems likely to come up if you have a group of Belles luring. Thanks in advance.
  8. With the second wave being released next month, I thought it would be a good time to get people playing games, so... M2E Achievement League Instead of a grow league since lots of people already have crews, but may be hesitant to play the second wave beta, I am looking to reward people for playing games. This way we can get more feed back for the beta, and , as always, I can get more games. In this league you will earn points for completing different achievements, usually based on playing more varied crews or opponents. Then, at the end, everyone will get entries into a few drawings, based on the number of points you earned over the league. The league will run Oct 26 - Nov 23. Entry will be $15 for the entire league. If you don't have a crew yet, don't worry. We can help you get started, and this will be a great time to start, as we will all be learning the new models and system together. Hope to see you there!
  9. How so? How would you place enough markers to make that effective?
  10. I'm hoping to get to play her today, I'm interested in the hand size thing as well, but also activation order. Tara reads like she must always go first, I just wonder about in practice. How did you do order in your game?
  11. Starting at 1PM on July 6th I am bringing out the babies. The Evil Babies that is. We will start with the original Evil Baby Orphanage. As soon as that is done we will add in Crayon Manifesto and go again. And as if that wasn't enough, we will start all over again adding in Nerdfighteria. Can't make the whole thing? Not a problem, come early, come late, play one, two, or all three games. Heck, if your time is super short, I will let you take over my hand for a round or so. Should be a hell of a time, can't wait to see you there!
  12. Thanks to everyone who came! That was likely my most successful demo ever, with my self running a marathon of demos for 10 hours. Hopefully I was able to get everyone's questions at least pointed in the right direction. I won't be available next weekend, but drop me a line and I will try and answer your 2.0 questions. I will return the week after.
  13. Come join us from noon till 6:00PM in the basement at Hobby Town USA. New players looking to get in or veteran players trying to figure out the new edition, all are welcome. I will be on hand to answer questions and run demo or test games. Hope to see everyone there!
  14. This one snuck up on me, but this Saturday, March 2nd 2013 will be our third monthly demo day. Come learn to play Malifaux, Warhamer, 40K, and Warmachine/Hordes. If you like it, come pick up some models in the store and stick around for Paint Night. We will help you get full swing into the hobby. This event is for those kinda interested, no idea what I'm talking about, or just looking for a group to play with. We start at 2PM and run till 5PM, with open gaming before and after. Painting starts around 7PM and runs until we can't see.
  15. Thank you to everyone who came out. Attendance was awesome. Set a new personal best for players. I hope to have the story and tree up soon, likely next week.
  16. We will indeed. You will announce faction, flip for side if needed, announce master, build crew... I will have the same terrain(and thank you for the compliment), though, I sadly wasn't able to add another board this time. Was just to busy with other event planning. I hope to be just as friendly ;-) Can't wait to see you there. And @Tuttleboy sorry to hear that you and your group won't make it. The more, the always merrier.
  17. Just wanted to give everyone a heads up, tomorrow is the last day to preregister. You will still be able to register at the event, but it will just cost more for your con badge.
  18. We are back for another one, and ready to do it big. From 2 till 5 this Saturday, Feb 2, we will be running demos of every kind up stairs in front of the Fort Collins Hobby Town USA(Inside, not out, brrrr). I will be running Malifaux, Puppet Wars, and Evil Baby Orphanage for anyone who wants to give them a try. Others will be running 40K and Warmachine/Hordes. We can also run Infinity and Fantasy upon request. If something takes your fancy, stick around. We will be having out late night painting starting around 7. Bring your new models or some old ones you want to get finished. Ask questions, get pointers, or just show off your current work. Anyone is welcome for either event. Come for both, come for one, or just hang out in between.
  19. Hobby Town USA in Fort Collins, CO will be hosting a demo day on January 12th, from 2 till 5. I will be running the Malifaux side of things, but there will also be several other systems to try, including 40K, Fantasy, and Wamachine/Hordes. Drop on by, grab a quick game, if you like it, stick around, meet some of the club members, head on down to the basement for some more in depth games. Can't make it? No worries, we are looking to make this a monthly event, with the next one being on February 2nd.
  20. OOPS!!!!! My head was in too many places. This event is on DECEMBER 30th, not January! Sorry for the confusion.
  21. Come join use for a full day tournament at GenghisCon(http://www.denvergamers.org) 3 round, 30ss, single faction, unique schemes. We will be playing a story style event, where the results of the previous rounds decide the strategies being played. All strategies are from the rules manual, just given flavour for the event. Strategies will be individual and all strategies will be possible.
  22. IGNORE TITLE!!! Should be December 30th, not January. I stole this idea straight from the Malifools. A choose your own adventure tournament 30ss, single faction, unique schemes You will be given three strategies to be used during the day. You pick which round to use them. Walk up to the table, tell factions, pick/reveal strategies, reveal masters, pick crew, etc... I will be using the new tournament strategies. Entry fee will be $5, all to prize support. We will start this shindig at high noon!
  23. Can we say that's awesome to much. I think not. I ecspecially like the swarms. Great work.
  24. I will be hosting a Halloween Story Encounter Tournament at the Hobby Town in Fort Collins, CO. This will be a 31 soulstone event, starting at 10:30AM. Single faction. $10 entry fee. I will also be hosting a single model painting competition alongside. Just bring any Wyrd mini that you have painted and did not enter in my last single mini event. This does not have to be a model from your chosen faction. Anything Wyrd goes.
  25. One thing about your knife, make sure its sharp. It looks like your foam core is balling up when you cut it. It takes a very sharp knife to cut foam core properly. Change your blade often. You don't have to toss the old ones, they are still plenty sharp for other applications. Also, windows. Gives line of sight and access. Also, you might think of a back door. All things easier to do before its glued together, I know, but can add to playability.
