  1. As an Outcast (well as anyone really since he's a Merc) you have Johan who can remove conditions with his Rebel Yell ability. Just need a 4+ of rams and you're golden.
  2. As per the FAQ, damage prevention is different from damage reduction (page 2). Avatar Somer can reduce damage to 0 with his "Peaches" ability (as of this week anyway). There might be other ones but that one is fresh in my mind.
  3. Thanks for the responses so far everyone. We're going to start work on putting together the rules pack today and then we just need to confirm a couple of other arrangements before we can finalize the costs. What's Cabincon?
  4. Hi all Sam (Secondbreky) and I are going to be running a Malifaux tournament at York Garrison Wargaming Club on Saturday 10th May 2014. This will take place at the club's usual venue at New Earswick Folk Hall (the venue for Monkeefaux last year). The tournament has two aims: 1- Everyone to enjoy themselves and play some good games of Malifaux 2- Raise as much money as we can for the British Heart Foundation. In August Sam will be taking part in the Prudential RideLondon-Surrey 100 event which is a 100 mile cycling event from London out into Surrey and finishing on The Mall. It has "leg testing climbs" and part of it was used in the 2012 Olympic Cycling events, so rather him than me He's riding the race on behalf of the British Heart Foundation so we thought that tapping into the collective amazeballs-ness of the UK Malifaux community would be a great way of adding some extra cash to his funding raising efforts. The rulespack for the event is now live and can be found here. The rulespack has full details of the costs and and round times and how you pay. The way to secure you spot is to pay us cash Some things from the pack I want to highlight: -Escalation format with 2 smaller henchman led games in the morning and two larger master led games in the afternoon. -Wave 1 and Wave 2 legal. Anything in beta won't be legal. -Fully painted crews only. You've got three months to get sorted -Proxies are fine with prior TO approval Please let us know if there are any questions. We have 28 places available. Entrants 1 - Mike Marshall 2 - James Doxey 3 - Greg Piskosz 4 - Connor Barker 5 - Nate Zettle 6 - Joel Henry 7 - David Golden 8 - Steve Revis 9 - Shane McDowell 10 - Nathan Chenery 11 - Adrian Mills 12 - Lee Battrick 13 - Ian Brocklebank 14 - Chris Hay 15 - Mike Smith 16 - Andy Figg 17 - Jimmy Balderstone 18 - Matt Spooner 19 - Phil Muscroft 20 - Ben Harris 21 - Paul Butler 22 - Mike Taylor 23 - John Wharton 24 - Darren Longworth 25 - Graham Allington 26 - Graham Bursnell 27 - 28 - Interested list Scott Porter Event sponsored by: Bendyboards.co.uk The Malifools Podcast Counter Attack Bases Element Games The Dice Bag Lady (@TheDiceBagLady) 4Ground.co.uk Commission Figurines
  5. Thanks for writing this, I'm going to pick up Collodi once he comes out in plastic. May I also congratulate you on your choice of tags for this topic
  6. Yep, the enemy models takes 2 damage from it's own Burning, and then 2 damage from the Voodoo Doll taking it's Burning damage.
  7. Is the event following the Gaining Grounds rules for proxies?
  8. You're missing Sam Wood ( Secondbreky) of the list
  9. I'm paid up now as well. Checking with other York guys to see if they can make it.
  10. Some photos from the event are now online: http://orderminoris.blogspot.co.uk/2014/02/vappafaux-2014-best-painted-crews.html http://orderminoris.blogspot.co.uk/2014/02/vappafaux-2014-round-up.html https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.500851800033654.1073741832.273196382799198&type=1
  11. They're here: http://wyrd-games.net/community/files/file/52-gaining-grounds/
  12. I'm the henchman for York, so feel free to PM me here on tweet me @tigerstyle40k and we'll set something up. I usually play at York Garrison club and there's a good few of us playing Malifaux every week there.
  13. I'm going to be running demo next week on Monday 10th February at York Wargames Society, that's at 17 Nunnery Lane, York. Going from 7pm onwards.
  14. Could you add me to that list as well please? I've been a henchman since October but I'm not on the front page list as yet.
  15. Yeah, it's a pretty killy strat with a fairly killy scheme pool. FfM and Assasiniate the big choices there.
  16. I thought some of you might find the scheme selections interesting. Strategies were pre-announced, schemes were provided for all games at the start of the day. 28 players gives us 56 scheme selections per round: Round 1: Reconnoiter ALITS: 4 Breakthrough: 16 Spring the Trap: 7 Bodyguard: 14 Make Them Suffer: 15 Round 2: Turf War ALITS: 3 Assassinate: 16 Vendetta: 7 Frame for Murder: 24 Breakthrough: 6 Round 3: Stake a Claim ALITS: 3 Plant Evidence: 14 Assassinate: 5 Entourage: 15 Protect Territory: 19 A Line in the Sand was very rare, most of the selections above are from 2 players taking it in two games, and one player selecting it in all three games.
  17. Players weren't required to record their masters only their factions. I've been asked for that info a couple of times so I will get it noted for future events. Paul definitely used Mei Feng in his course to victory certainly in the last game, but I'm sure he'll chip in and confirm.
  18. I've been through and double checked all the score sheets again, and verified that the below are the final standings (I did find one error but nothing that affected either end of the table): These are the results that will be uploaded to RHQ shortly. The final faction breakdown was: 8 Arcanists 5 Guild 5 Outcasts 4 Neverborn 4 Ten Thunders 1 Rezzer 1 Gremlin I'm going to crunch through the sheets and look at scheme selections in a bit.
  19. We've got some big rooms at the Folk Hall where Garrison meet, there's several of a similar size if not larger to the one we had Monkeefaux in last year so a big event in York is a possibility.
  20. Yep, I'll post them here tomorrow and upload the results to RHQ.
  21. The timings were one of the things that I was concerned about going into the event, but each round there were only a couple of games still running at the end of 90 minutes so it looks like that might be a decent time length. I think we probably had a little longer than 10 minutes setup as we'd got started a bit earlier in each round so it looks like a 10-15 minutes setup with a 90 minute round is OK for 40ss.
  22. One other thing, if anyone has any feedback on the event them please let me know, as we want to make things even better for next year and future events. You can PM me here, or tweet/ DM me on twitter @tigerstyle40k.
  23. That's Vappafuax 2014 all done, thanks to everyone who came and made it an excellent event. We had a few odd hiccups, some within my control and some not but I think we got there in the end and it all went pretty well. I should say a big thanks to And for helping with the setup yesterday and helping run things. Also a big thanks to And, Nathan, Sam and Shane for building a ton of terrain and boards over the past few months. It's set us up in good standing for future eventsl at Garrison and at Vappa again. Also a big thanks to Jen for volunteering to stand down as a player when we had an odd number. It meant no one had to have a bye and I didn't have to play which I was grateful for. Also, thanks for our event sponsors for helping out with the prizes. Please go and check them out and tell them you heard about them at Vappafaux. They are: Bendyboards.co.uk Tinyworlds.co.uk Fenrisgames.com Warbases.co.uk Urban Construct (wargamesterrain.co.uk) I'll post the full results tomorrow and upload to the rankings. In summary: 1st - Paul Campbell 2nd - James Doxey 3rd - Greg Piskosz Best sports - Shane McDowell Spoon - Paul Butler Best Painted: 1st Jen Truby 2nd Ben Halford 3rd James Doxey Congratulations to all those guys
