Glad to hear your keeping most of your stuff, Im a terrible hoarder and still feel bad about getting rid of 40k stuff 10 years ago! On another note love the dual Kirai and the idea of a spirit painted model is fantastic
Looks good, loving the orange funnily enough I've just finished her and put her up on my plog! Must be something in the uk water, out of interest where did you get the leaves from?
WIP for some malifaux terrain as I'm playing more often! Maccy D's coffee stirers are probally the best free terrain making items I have ever found! Please feel free to comment.
eBay is your best bet, I've had problems from most of the big uk retailers, gifts for geeks took 2 months to send a executioner, govnors proxy, fate deck, baby kade and the voodoo doll totum in 3 separate packages.
Windsor and Newton series 7 size 1, only got one but been using almost exclusively for over a year an still going strong. Had a full set of gw brushes and the only ones that are still usable after 3 yrs are the dry brushes.
I wouldn't bother with a pistol grip got one with my air brush and tried it once and didn't like it, only mod I've got is a inline air filter and it's super comfortable, also can't stress get a quick release between air and brush as it allows for rotation of the air line. I'll post pics tommorow as not sure im making much sense!
Cleanliness is next to godliness, although as long as you flush between colours with cleaner you should be fine! Only extras you really need are a cleaning pot, spare needle and cleaning fluid and empty Vallejo bottles are so useful for premixing colours with thinner etc.
Yes it's just a little more prone to rubbing off, which is why you see many painters pin their model to a cork whilst painting as it gives you a larger surface area to hold whilst painting. After sealing with varnish it's just the same.
Oh how this made me chuckle, I haven't done anything as small as a wyrd mini, but airbrushing is the ultimate in smoothness, maybe when I get my hands on some of the new plastics I'll have a play!
Cheers for the advice, I'm liking the pink more and more every time I see it and I already love it! Now to finish some ogres so I can paint more malifaux!
The Vallejo primers are really good as they self level but very temperamental through a airbrush. It's Said that you can spray straight from the bottle but I've found it's a really easy way to clog the airbrush up(even at 30psi) so use about 3:1 with thinner. Just ordered German grey for 30% off at maelstrom games.
Other than that cheap car undercoat works amazingly well switched from gw and there's no way I could ever justifiy £10 a can over £3.50 for car paint
Oh and I only use grey
I'm liking the pink idea, gone a bit fanboyish as mako your work is sublime.(your tutorials are amazing and one of the reason I've swithched to using glaze rather than ink wash) as for the paint block it's just lady j that had me paint blocked, I had primed her and base coated her but could never take that final step for fear of not doing the scult justice, currebtly doing a ogre commision and got a bit bored and the result was 3 hours of Lady J love.
Cheers dgraz It's been a painful 18 months, there's a lot I'm not happy with but just changed painting styles over to using glazes so I'm going to knock back the leather a bit. Agree with the green prob change it to red and redo the blind fold red to.
The lady J sculpt was one of the reasons I started to paint and play malifaux but always had painters block when trying to paint her. 18 months later I hope I've done her justice!$$
All c&c welcome
