I believe it is WP > 12 so yes immune to influence would not effect, so you COULD slow her down a bit...

I do not like playing against Ortegas. The problem with them is that they can always work together to definitely kill something you have almost in position if they get initiative. Some tricks I have tried (not all have been successful) some of these will be transferrable to Guild troops. Dropping a shikome on Papa when he's close enough to Perdita to be companioned. The Shikome didn't kill him but as he was my announced grudge target, the opponent wanted to make sure I didn't kill him. The Take You With Me pulse killed the shikome and also badly wounded Perdita. Luring them. Not with Rotten Belles (which is almost impossible with the uniformly high WP's and stubborn) but with tasty looking targets. Once they have done the combined strike, you may be able to drop on one of them to kill them off and possible break the companion chain. Refuse to engage. With Colette I ensure I have schemes that don't involve engaging with the enemy, then I attempt to mostly avoid them for the whole battle, this works better if they have schemes that require them to deal with you. Onryo Perdita. When onryo get shot they deal damage back.. When they die I get a seishin and summon more onryo. I suspect she auto passes the giving herself slow if she kills it though due to immune to influence.

Seems like there are a lot of Larpers here, I'm also one of them (Play at CP for those of you in the UK). When I aren't playing them I run the Reading Uni larp (www.shatteredreality.co.uk) and am in the process of writing my own Steampunk related one, which will hopefully be having a one day test soon (info on request ). P&P Roleplaying also occurs of course, again with me mostly stuck in the Running Rather than Playing slot! I also Write, although not professionally (not yet anyhow). This also involves a lot of Reading of other people's stuff. Computer games count as a hobby for this I guess Scuba would be one of my pastimes if I had the money and time but I don't so I only really count as a dabbler in that

Eclectic games is definitely the best Games shop in Reading. That said they are still in the process of Sorting out their Malifaux supply. The Shine on them is actually from the varnish, having tried matt varnish before and found it unsatisfactory I use gloss now. Bases wise I have a number of Victorian street bases I'll be using. Seamus will be mounted under a streetlamp and the others will have such things as dustbins and other detritus.

I've run with one in a small game (25SS) it was used mostly to distract Perdita and Nino and run about completing Power ritual

Hello New Players, I'm pretty new myself, having played... err 6 games total I think. However next weekend I'm doing my Bit for the Malifaux community round here as I'm holding a day of Malifaux, where several new players, and people who want to learn the game are descending on my house to kill each other and then eat meat that has been charred over an open fire Hopefully I'll get pics and everything! One warning though... don't go to Games conventions where they are selling Malifaux, I went to Salute in London last weekend and am now pooor!

From a technical stand point, eyes and face... From an actual stand point however it's knowing when to STOP painting... If I don't force myself to stop I would continue painting tiny details here and there..

That was actually what I was asking. The number of times in that game I just plain failed to reach the casting total due to sheer bad luck (oh hey Black Joker...) or -ve flips when low on stones was shocking. So if you fail to reach the casting total you do not spend the stone. If you meet the casting total you spend the stone irrespective of whether the enemy then resists. Thanks! You've just made my Colette more effective!

wait... Q2) When casting a spell that requires the discarding of a soulstone is the soulstone discarded if the casting value is not met? A2) No. That is right? WOOOOHOOO! if so that is awesome as half the soulstones I used in the last game were failed casts to either summon doves or blast people.

The coryphee are good.. but they are fragile, leave them out on show and they WILL get killed. They also have low WP, so on turns when they attack someone they are susceptible to things like Obey which can draw them back into range to attack (I go sword dance and soulstone use on attack rounds, soulstone use and lost in dance on moving rounds)

Currently I play Colette or Seamus, however when I have painted those I'll be picking up the Viktorias and possibly the Ortegas. So I play lots of different stuff!

If you are willing to buy Citadel stuff, get some of their Washes and wash over the paintjobs you have. It'll smooth out the layering a bit. Other than that Excellent Work
