  1. Totally agree with the thread title. Nicodem and Seamus were the first 2 masters I played with and since Ive branched into others the difference in power tends to feel very freeing, Id strongly predict the opposite for you, but Ive never played Kirai (still painting her). I may not always agree with your opinions, but at least you make points worth a few thoughts, so its good to see you dissecting these "good ol' boys" objectively. Id caution you as well not to rule out Mortimer just yet, I haven't used Molly much, but I can tell you Fresh Meat 2 times in a game(its way easier than you think) and you've bought an entire turn of movement for 7 ss and 2 AP, for me thats been worth it by itself among other additions. Im not saying this is the best thing ever, just worth it, I find that the last thing you want to do with Nicodem's AP is move him. I find HtW2 is best used against models that get a Positive damage flip built into their weapon, e.g. Ronin, Lilith, Guild Guard (when shooting), even Coryphee, because it uses that perk a bit more in your favor, but still Ive watched the Red Joker get flipped on one of my big guys many a time. Personally I think the Joker rule should stay just as it is, every game out there needs that one absolutely random aspect that either sends you soaring or crashing and burning. All in all though, good luck and Im looking forward to reading more.
  2. If your taking it from her perspective, on her right side is the flower and toward the left above her face, WHAT THE F*** IS THAT?!?!? I cant figure out for the life of me, and the stat card has it as the same color as her hair. Answers, suggestions, as payment I will post a pic of her when shes done, that way this thread will still belong in this section. Many thanks.
  3. (0) In pursuit, brings the pain if u still need her to dole out melee punishment. But if she's surrounded by enemy you will probably still want Riposte. Nothing is better than killing a full Steamborg during its own flurry.
  4. I can't wait to try it out either, Molly and the necro machine are in progress atm. The thought of Mortimer getting the walk from his own Fresh Meat is so... efficient.
  5. Also I feel I should mention, out of the 12 people that play in my area, I have the most experience with res'sers. When I find what works for me, I tend to gravitate towards it.
  6. That is the best argument for Vultures I have ever seen. It may be worth it just in being able to use Bolster Undead more, I have found myself using Arise very frequently in my last few games just to bring corpses into Reanimator range. Point accepted, its not as direct a comparison as I had thought before, mostly because Ive weighed the totems casting against one another, Bring Back doesn't look very appealing on paper either and Im leery about Eyes and Ears because I have terrible luck. With the Grave Spirit, its link and cast for most of the game, while Vultures don't really use their own AP for attacks. Gonna look into that...
  7. Vengeance is really evil for that purpose, tho.
  8. For cost, Id rather run dogs to gather corpses. I just have not found a situation using Nicodem in which I said: I really wish I had a vulture for this. But assuredly, I appreciate snide comments, thats how I learn. And assumption of perceived status over an opinion expressed with conviction, please allow me a brief pause while I marvel at your insight... Seriously though, all flirting aside... I would appreciate if you gave a few examples of how Vultures can be OP, not that I believe it cannot be done, I would honestly love to know, and not consider the 8 hours I spent painting them to be a total waste.
  9. Vultures are GODAWFUL!!! They have a cast of 2 no suit which means they need crows for magical extension to succeed and even then, you need a 12 crows just to cast decay and a soulstone along with a crow to cast rigor mortis. You have better things to do with crows in a Nico crew, better to hire the grave spirit which can actually magical extension any of his spells due to its 3 crow cast, it has better abilities than the vulture, and costs half the soulstones. Ive actually debated the Necrotic machine, with its 4crow cast, offensive capabilities and the ability to make Mortimer undead almost seems like a good utility to have for certain games.
  10. I play Seamus, this may help if I run through it for you. Lets just say all models are in range of one another for this to happen. Seamus activates first, companioning the Totem(whichever one you choose). You go through the totems AP first then Seamus' or vice versa, during his activation you choose the (0) act Womanizer targetting Sybelle which states that she activates after Seamus activation ends. As Sybelle activates you anounce companion with any Rotten Belles within 6" of her because the Belles have companion Sybelle, meaning that the condition for companion is met only when Sybelle activates. You then can go through all of their activations one after another. Should you have chosen to go thru Seamus' AP before the totem's, now, after Sybelle and the Belles have gone it would be time for the Totem to go.
  11. Rule 11: Flesh constructs are a great opener when there are alot of corpses around, they are good tanks, a free move or swing, and 2 cards. Bring these in as a screen for ur Punk Zombies.
  12. I believe you've overlooked Student of Conflict. Fast and Casting expert is grossness, but thats 4ss out the window, if you were going avatar. But there could be merits to: Sonnia with Lucius connecting the Student so it will stick around, while Sonnia connects the Drill Sergeant. Look to use for reactivate on Lucius early on... It may end up being too much just to get full mileage out of the totems tho...
  13. Go for Sonnia. I play ressers and guild, I can tell you succinctly, a Nicodem crew is never done. It takes a ton of models, regular Nicodem can have 12 Mz's in the right situation, couple that with his large selection and access to that DURING the game, and like me, you'll be painting forever. Someone mentioned aNicodem, have fun painting even more MZs. Ressers need to be played as a faction because there are strats that Nico just cant do. As an experienced Nico player I know you never take him for distract, its like watching a tortoise cross the highway. If your looking for fun ASAP, Sonnia will deliver that quicker with less work.
  14. Can someone please tell me, why the vulture? Nicodem was my first Master and I have never once ran a vulture or two and not thought soon after "I should have taken the Grave Spirit." It costs less, has a crow in its cast(which is even numerically better than the vultures), and has the link/armor abilities. Why do people recommend the vultures? What am I missing?
  15. I understand if the pies fall by the wayside, I was just looking to incorporate that random $$$$$$$$$$ aspect of "what will happen next?" But an acid flower? That is sooo.... Jack Nicholson. What about a mechanic for summoning ballon dogs that are a cross between canine remains and electrical creations. They can pass through, give slow, and pop if they get hit for a pulse 2. Admit it, its funny...
  16. He should be the woe of malicious humor. And for that $$$$$$$$$$ feel might I suggest: Neverborn Pie Toss: Rg: 10 Cb:5:masks Dg:0/1/2 Weapon: Neverborn Pie Toss- This weapon ignores armor. The suit of the first fate card flipped in this weapon's duel total is added to the final duel total, ignore suits from any other fate cards due to cheating, stat augmentation, or any or . Only the Red Joker may be chosen for suit over the first card flipped. Triggers with this weapon must always be declared. Triggers: Neverborn Pie Toss- Acid-Creme (:masks:crows): This weapon recieves Poison 2 for this strike. Banana Peels (:masks:rams): After hitting defender with this weapon defender recieves slow. Caramel??? (:masks:tomes): After hitting defender with this weapon defender recieves to all casting flips. One good apple (:masks:masks): After hitting defender with this weapon deal no damage, defender makes two healing flips.
  17. But, as per the example given, and the current conversation, wouldn't the removal of a "Fast" token be a modification and a model with immunity is not subject to modifications from the stated ability?
  18. Im genuinely surprised that Angel didn't mention Katherine(or Catherine, both names are in the game), if you like puzzle games it looks pretty cool. She also has been talking about it for the last 2 and a half months, along with Batman.
  19. I use them to pull cards from my opponents, noone wants to get hit by their abilities. Sometimes they can be absolutely devastating, but they aren't just tanks they take a little practice, DO NOT GIVE UP ON THEM.
  20. Any official answer to this yet? Thanks for the effort, all of you.
  21. Does KA-BLOOEY!!! happen if Pere' is killed while paralyzed?
  22. There needs to be a header at the start of this thread that reads "Welcome to Bickerville." Gawd... Its been mentioned, but not really adhered to,Why don't we work together and form sound strategies? Just sayin... I have, and play, Dr. Doug, Nicodem, and Seamus. I have not yet seen Kirai in action, but I can say this, you choose your faction first, then you choose your Master and crew based on strategies and schemes, correct? I know these three have very different ways of getting things done from game to game, let alone from one another. Mc Mourning is a melee monster/summoner that can acquire body parts from anything, last I checked. Seamus is a highly mobile, and versatile, UTILITY Master. Noone seems to catch that about him.(Thank you, Sandwich) And Nicodem is a buff/aggro debuff/replenishment SupportMaster.Count on your guys dying,if the opponents models end up in the mix, thats a bonus, not something to depend on. Ressers as a faction requires an expansive amount of knowledge on your Models, your opponents models, and execution of schemes and strategies. There is no Autopilot, unlike the NeverBorn where the purpose of a model and its crew is very straightforward. Ressers are much more situational and very reactive, far from weak, they just dont set the pace of the game, they mold to fit any pace. Granted, those afforementioned attributes will benefit any player in any faction, but when your faction strength is amount and variety of models it is your new obsession. Would you play The Dreamer and a bunch of Nephilim? NO!!! Don't play Ressers without a decent model pool and a really good knowledge of what they should be doing. As plain for you now as "The Dreamer uses Nightmares." A "Competetive Power Curve" is a relative thing to the types of competitions are being matched up. If your in a single master tournament where its one master every game, resser masters wont stack up, they are not meant to do it all, they are meant to do a few strategies really well. I will end things saying a mantra that many others have uttered in the past, its about Victory Points. Period.
  23. Lookin to see how some folks painted up their new Avatar models. And if I wasn't a technological retard Id show my own. Maybe I'll get some help from someone to post mine.
  24. All this debating. From now on I'll just call her Legs the WitchHunter.
