  1. If you painted your cerberus to look like a 3 headed Kringer it is you who should get a cookie. Until next time...
  2. A model with arachnid ignores climbing penalties, so climbing down and falling down an elevation would be the same distance.
  3. In the case of your opponent looking to just ignore things and complete objectives, she has Excessive Bleeding, why didn't you just rush his objective grabbers and make them insignificant?
  4. The differences between Irresistable, Harmless, and Pitiful are kinda big, you might want to reread those rather than have me get into them.
  5. I think that was revised on Dust Storm's card that it does'nt drop counters either. Ive always thought that constructs leave nothing but scrap unless they have an ability that says otherwise, like the ones you mentioned.
  6. I don't think he can assimilate object just as he can't assimilate Showgirl, because its a characteristic not a talent or spell. Why has noone mentioned the Pale Rider? Ive had an awesome time with him for Hoffman.
  7. I disagree, the model was sacrificed through an indirect means, but the effect was caused by Seamus. A poisoned model can die from poison tokens up to 3 turns after it was last hit by the model with poison. In the case of poison, there was an errata that made this the rule because it was a little too powerful. In this case, your further Cuddling an ability that isn't really that powerful to begin with.
  8. Apparently both. Thank you, Justin. Should I repost this or let a forum admin relocate it?

  10. Christ on a bike. Tell Halflingspy, I'm making more friends on the forums. I can't keep up with this torrent. LMAO. ---------- Post added at 05:04 PM ---------- Previous post was at 04:56 PM ---------- I agree with Justin. Consistency is necessary, I feel that changing the rules or implementing special rules undermines this most directly. ---------- Post added at 05:08 PM ---------- Previous post was at 05:04 PM ---------- I only get to play if one of players needs to be punished. Usually I just rules marshall and demo on thursdays at my LGS.
  11. Beginner tournaments are great, because they are specified that they are for beginners. They are not supposed to have a typical competitive environment. In all honesty, I don't care if Beginner Tournaments implement an all inclusive cuddle Crotch-Bat bonus round Free-For-All. But the difference is in the name of the tournament.
  12. Not necessarily in this thread specifically but it is something that has been addressed in snippets. Its more of a make the game easier on new players.
  13. Sorry, I missed a bunch of these replies while editing. Give me a few mins and I will have a response for you folks. You can take one of my SS Tedpro, but I get one of yours for each finger I break with my hammer when you reach for it. ---------- Post added at 04:46 PM ---------- Previous post was at 04:42 PM ---------- This made me feel like you were.
  14. That proves my point. You just implied that playing the game normally, is stacking the deck against newer players. I feel that you should preserve the rules of the game despite popular opinion. Example: Last week I was playing against one of my newer players(started in August), he had never played against me and had received most of his experience from demo games with the other Henchman in my area, casual games with his brother, and other players in our group. After explaining how line of sight worked multiple times and informing him that he can ask me questions whenever he feels the need, before he makes a decision, he tried to target something with more than 3 inches of obscuring terrain between the shooter and the target. After he measured and I told him what happens, I explained that the action fails and he does not get to use the AP to walk instead and then shoot, a failed action equals a wasted AP. The look on his face clearly stated that this had never happened to him before, he was not yet expected to follow one of the most basic parameters of the game. 4 months in, hadn't thought of the repercussions of what was just explained to him, and its not his fault, no one actually held him to the rules because he was a new player. I cannot express the distaste I feel towards the sentiment of making it fair for new players and the above situation. There is no making it fair for new players, your making it easier, when you make it easy for them, you stunt their growth. Have some faith in your players, encourage them to ask as many questions as they want, and tell them they can learn, but it will take some time to get all the information because there is a lot of it. The number one thing that will attract people is a bunch of players having fun, not Malifaux easy mode. If you want a game with depth, complex interactions, and an amazing storyline play Malifaux. If you want easy mode play checkers... P.S. This post was in no way meant to express malice or malcontent toward the author or posters on this thread, just the idea of changing rules for an officially formatted tournament.
  15. Let me run off topic for a second... I'm starting to get a little annoyed at people taking measures to hobble experienced players or make it "fair" for new people. Experienced players should have an advantage, period. New players should learn to use them as a resource. Also, personally, I don't paddycake my player base, they are expected to play the same game everyone else does. Give the players time to learn and they will rise to the caliber necessary. Until then, let them cut their teeth on league play and find a way to reward them for finishing within 2 hours or 70 mins or whichever you decide. Don't just change the rules; should your players travel to other circles or you end up having a guest join you for a tournament, it won't translate well, I fear.
  16. I find it interesting that no one has thought to keep the gun icon on Live for Pain but increase the range to 10" or 12." On Fetid Strumpet's train of thought how about this: One Step Ahead: During this models activation, it may ignore the melee range of insignificant enemy models when making ranged attacks. Insignificant models may never make disengaging strikes against this model.
  17. Actually the ability to summon punk Zombies, alone, seems great in a Seamus crew. I think its fairly obvious why.
  18. First, get it out of your head that you are paying 10 ss to "drag your Master around." You are paying 10 ss for a resilient model with high movement, that also has a good damage profile. After he drags Nicodem 10 inches in 1 turn, you have also effectively purchased 3 extra AP for Nicodem because you won't have to spend it walking toward the opponent. I played Nicodem in the Pre-Dead Rider days, I still think Mortimer is a great model, ANYTHING that will stop you from having to use his valuable AP on his pathetic 3 inch walk is, more often than not, worth its weight in stones. Or gold... Hell, if they made a solid gold Dead Rider model, Id buy it. Ballin....
  19. I have the same model, Im using it as a Hollow Waif when Im done.
  20. I believe the model being sacrificed may fall into the category of additional requirements, not spell effects.
  21. If you were to do a search for images you would see quite a few that could be feasible in addition to what we see on the models, but we have to limit it to what would yield a 2 inch melee range in game terms/8-10 foot range with a step and strike in reality. Things like throwing knives, caltrops, or the circular hand blades wouldn't qualify; they would be shuriken, like the small knife in the scarf of the Ball/Chain Torakage, or they just would'nt produce the range necessary to count as one of the applicable ten. We must also eliminate what would overlap other weapons, such as the paired axes in the same slot as the Kama: 1. Large Mallet 2. Golden Mellon Hammer (the club on that Large mallet guy's back) 3. Ball and Chain (modification on the flying meteor, or Chain Whip) 4. Kama (You were correct, before you described them) 5. Maxi style Nunchaku-Kama (Held by the thin Torakage) 6. Large curved blade with tonfa style handle (arm bindings optional, its a fashion choice) What we could glean from the yielded images: 7. Broken Staff, Chain Staff, or Triple Nunchuk (whichever you prefer) 8. Variety of Polearms 9. Twin Hook Swords, or other 1 Hand bladed weapons(not kama or axes) 10. Chris Tucker
  22. Its hiding in a toy box. Pretending its a Puppet Wars model.
  23. To answer the Lilith question, she could not be randomly targeted through a wall. Since she would not be in LOS of the targeted model and not a valid target for a melee strike she wouldn't be engaged by it for targeting purposes.
