  1. Having a reference point that is oh-so-human actually enhances the fantastic nature of many of the wyrd & wonderful denizens of Malifaux. By providing an anchor in reality, the contrast with the surreal is significantly enhanced. :marshmell:marshmell:marshmell:marshmell:marshmell
  2. Put simply, that work is The Best Place for any player of The Dreamer to commence their own voyage of discovery. I (seriously) can't recommend it highly enough. (Despite a dire lack of dancing marshmellows ... ) :marshmell:marshmell:marshmell:marshmell:marshmell
  3. :hahaha: Opt out any further & we won't be able to get a word in edgewise! :marshmell:marshmell:marshmell:marshmell:marshmell
  4. I have no doubt that you did, Matt. Customs clearances here can be a bit of a pig, especially at this time of year.
  5. ... (unless your name is "oozeboss") ... ... (in which case, Congratulations: you have a 53yo kid!) (I have 34 years of gaming experience, 12 tournament wins, & a tertiary education ... only I got mine by going to 3 schools) ... ... (unless your name is oo ... oh forget it: "easybeat" = aspiring to one day get as rough, tough & terrorising as dancing marshmellows ...) :marshmell:marshmell:marshmell:marshmell:marshmell
  6. :congrats::congrats::congrats::congrats::congrats: Great idea! This thread should be stickied!!! :marshmell:marshmell:marshmell:marshmell:marshmell
  7. He shoots! He scores!!! :marshmell:marshmell:marshmell:marshmell:marshmell
  8. I love them, GG! When I've finished my current Big House project (mix Alice in Wonderland, any number of Tim Burton movies, the terrain of the West Coast of New Zealand + the Neverborn), my plan is to go Levi & do a gaming board based on the workshop of Captivating Salvage & Logistics & the adjacent "Alice's Restaurant". Leveticus, being the ultimate recycler, wouldn't waste any resource! (Think of the film, Delicatessen by Jean-Pierre Jeunot.) :marshmell:marshmell:marshmell:marshmell:marshmell
  9. I thought I was giving myself Lord Chompy Bits, but it still hasn't arrived. I suspect that either Australian Customs have been buried by the seasonal rush, or it just happened to score a very slow - & probably asthmatic - pigeon. Still, my birthday's only in October so I might have it by then! :marshmell:marshmell:marshmell:marshmell:marshmell
  10. They're not the only things. :fisheye: Welcome to this side of The Breach, and particularly in to the loving embrace of the Neverborn. Gotta say I can also relate to your love for The Dreamer! :marshmell:marshmell:marshmell:marshmell:marshmell
  11. Funnily enuff, these are precisely my two main non - Neverborn crews (I also have Ophelia, but that was an impulse buy which will serve as occasional comic relief). Von Schill is now painted/ Lucius ordered & paid for. And having once worked for the Director of Public Prosecutions, the appeal for me is the very real way in which the legal profession and its political string-pullers are portrayed! :marshmell:marshmell:marshmell:marshmell:marshmell
  12. The games are not lame. But attaching any significance at all to a popularity contest where 'supporters' are clearly attempting to corral votes is as lame as it gets. I'm voting with my wallet today & buying yet another crew. And at the end of the day, that is the only sort of vote that truly counts. :marshmell:marshmell:marshmell:marshmell:marshmell
  13. It's a tad more complex than mere Mathefaux though. One must also consider the human element. Being enamoured of the Neverborn, I would use Lilith. So Hoffman would win in a canter! :marshmell:marshmell:marshmell:marshmell:marshmell
  14. When it is all boiled down to its basic context, what we have is a game of pretty pewter miniatures, played on wonderful terrain of the imagination, and utterly subject to the mercurial whims of Fate. Winning such a game is no testament to any degree of pure skill (as is chess), nor social significance. Anybody so utterly focused on winning these games that they'd go to any great lengths qualify immediately as Very Sad Gits! :bitchslap :nutkick:
  15. ..... which is the best advice of all ever given in this forum. :marshmell:marshmell:marshmell:marshmell:marshmell
  16. I have a 25ss tournament on 8 January, & as my Dreamer crew is nowhere near ready, I'm looking at running von Schill. My (first draft) orbat is: von Schill (3ss cache) Librarian Trapper Hans Convict 'slinger It's obviously relying on firepower over brawn, but I'll be entering with zero games using the crew behind me. I have the box + Hamelin (rat catcher mode) painted & ready - with a second trapper coming in the mail - so I'm very open to any suggestions re tactics or crew line-ups.
  17. Welcome to these forums - what a sensational first post!!! Your work is breathtakingly beautiful, and a crew looking that good is an advert for any game whenever they are trotted out. :marshmell:marshmell:marshmell:marshmell:marshmell
  18. Truly visionary! I'm really looking forward to see the Vision Splendid expanded out to the entire crew.
  19. 'Tis the night before Christmas And all through the land, Eunuchs are crying Baubles in their hands! :marshmell:marshmell:marshmell:marshmell:marshmell I don't do Carols any more. Nor Sandra's, Sally's or Sue's - my wife simply won't let me. And my presents haven't arrived: Lord Chompy Bits is still en route from California, & my Sparks' CDs haven't arrived in time from the UK, so it's all IOU's in my stockings for now. I do, however, have the pleasure of the company of many fine friends and valued peers who share a passion for Malifaux here (and yes, I include the wonderful Natty - as well as the more obvious playmates - in that number). And to all of you, I wish a Merry Xmas/ a Happy Hanukah (sp?)/ a Sweet Samhain/ a fabulous Festival of the Infidel (I do use that as a greeting to my Muslim mates at this time of year)/ or an Appetising Atheist Feast & Accompanying Commercial Extravaganza. May your New Year bring you all endless Red Jokers! :marshmell:marshmell:marshmell:marshmell:marshmell
  20. I really love your posts on this forum, Sholto, and this is no different. It really is an object lesson in the importance of Strategies & Schemes in our game, and how they make this so unique a tabletop experience. Thank you for such an illuminating, instructive & entertaining tale. :marshmell:marshmell:marshmell:marshmell:marshmell
  21. But will it be a goth Teddy?
  22. :worship: !Dlog :jester: !Emoclew osla dna :marshmell:marshmell:marshmell:marshmell:marshmell
  23. Yes. :marshmell:marshmell:marshmell:marshmell:marshmell
  24. :congrats::congrats::congrats::congrats::congrats: "Encore! Encore!"
