  1. Which source of damage reduction occurs first, soulstone damage prevention or something like Armor/Bulletproof/Lenny?
  2. Considering I'm going to get it just to get the minions for my Nicodem crew, I'm rather indifferent. The new Flesh Construct looks awesome and the new Nurses are about 500x better than the originals. I can take or leave Sebastien and the Canine Remains sculpt, but I didn't care for their original sculpts either so it's a toss-up. McMourning and his totem will probably be given to a friend, I have absolutely zero interest in playing him.
  3. That kinda flies in the face of the fact that Tara was ready-to-roll as a fallback when Leveticus balancing didn't pan out though. Clearly they had art assets working on new models/crews at least in conjunction with the resculpts.
  4. Check out the Sow's Smell Fear when coupled with Drinking Contest/Intoxication/Tipsy. Should provide quite a bit of free offense, potentially. Not to mention the plethora of other Wp duels the Brewmaster can dish out or the Whiskey Golem can generate while in melee.
  5. I wouldn't expect the Wave 2 models any time soon, I mean they're still being tested. However, I did somewhat expect to see The Brewmaster soon as he was one of the few completely brand new crews in Wave 1. Somer and Ophelia can at least be bought in their original forms (though I'm definitely holding out for the new Kin set, that art looks fantastic). Thankfully though with enough cool Swampfiend stuff coming up in Wave 2 I think I'll be buying Zoraida relatively soon. At least the Waldgeists (as the new ones I do not care for).
  6. No Gremlins or Zoraida resculpt until *at least* February. Looks like Privateer Press is getting a lot of my holiday hobby money.
  7. I've actually got a pretty good snow effect down thanks to my Khador army But an ice tutorial would be interesting.
  8. Thanks for the suggestion, I may go with this. Seems pretty similar to how I made my board's swamp terrain.
  9. What kind of material do you use for the swampland in your bases? I'm assuming cork, but if you could give a little detail into what kind/manufacturer and where you get it, that would be awesome. I've used the Wyrd swamp bases for my Somer crew, but that's going to get expensive fast with all the new Gremlin stuff coming down the pipe. So I want to do something kind of along the lines of what you've done here. Thanks!
  10. Fantastic work, just really great. Definitely should be proud of what you've pulled off
  11. I was the same way. The original Reckless was a no-brainer, I used it constantly. With Drunk & Reckless there is tactical consideration as when to use it. That's good in my book.
  12. Correct, she is no longer limited. Though she has no support for non-Gremlin models really, so there's little reason to bring Pigs with her. But that may change in Wave 2, who knows?
  13. Somewhat early in M2E open beta (prior to the Pig Feed upgrade being introduced) I ran a Pig-centric list against the Family and did well. Piglets with their Small Target ability are great little tarpits to tie up even Perdita (Df 6 and [-] to hit), the War Pig gobbled Nino and healed off him, etc. It worked fairly well but it was a low point game and we were still adjusting to M2E. I haven't played it since. I think there are two ways to possibly go with a Somer/Pig list. 1.) Run Somer pretty far forward to abuse Tossed Feed and use him as a primary ranged threat (he's pretty decent with that Boomer). 2.) Run an augmented summoning engine where you burn AP killing your own summoned BGs to turn them into Piglets. Unfortunately the change to Drunk & Reckless makes this harder. Before you could summon a new BG at 2 wounds, activate him and Reckless to bring him to 1 wound, and then he'd be ripe for an auto-kill next round with even Weak damage. Can't really do that anymore :/ I think option #1 is probably the better route with the rules in their current state. Send your pigs forward with Lenny and Slop Hauler in support to make sure they get where you want them relatively unscathed and then you can out-range melee threat on nearly everyone with Sooey! and Tossed Feed. Once you let the Pigs go you have your support models hang back for dropping Scheme markers and the like. Pigs are good with support but they aren't *as* dependent on them as BGs are because you won't be killing yourself with Dumb Luck and requiring healing, etc. The real support they need is just a delivery mechanism. So once they get there it frees up your support a lot I would think.
  14. I'm not that all concerned with the cuddles. Hog Whisperers are back where they should be: Pig support pieces. Rather than the universal objective grabbers and melee mini-wombats they were before. Their tactical actions are still absolutely superb if you want to run a Pig list and with Pig Feed on Somer and a single Hog Whisperer you'll have plenty of Hog Whispering to blanket the board with, lots of movement shenanigans with Sooey! and Tossed Feed, and Stik'm on a War Pig is still really great. And, yes, we have to also assume these changes were made with Ulix already in mind as well.
  15. He's a complex master by M2E standards, it'll be a bit of a learning curve in general I think
  16. I don't think it's that cut-and-dry because you don't know what your opponent will choose for schemes when building your crew. Also, even without scheme markers Fingers is pretty boss at healing with a built-in Take a Swig plus Pour Me a Double from his Drinking "Problem" upgrade (plus Open Bar is a pretty universally good lure ability on top of that). In higher point games I'll probably take him just for those reasons. Scheme marker manipulation will just be bonus. But I do think he is VERY pricey for what he brings to the table. He's not a beatstick henchmen at all, which is kind of different to deal with.
  17. You aren't the only one. I was wholly unimpressed when I used him. However, I was playing a low-point game and I could see him being more worthwhile in a 40-50ss game.
  18. What appears to comprise the "typical" Somer list is: - Lenny - 2x Slop Haulers - 0-2x Skeeters (I personally like them and take them) - Maybe 1-2 Kin, depending on preference. - Spamming Bayou Gremlins I did have some moderate success with a Pig list against Perdita during M2E open beta. The Small Target ability on Piglets with Df: 6 really lets them tie her up relatively well. Jam with the Skeeters and Piglets while your Gremlins lay down markers. And this was before the Pig Feed upgrade was introduced.
  19. I honestly wasn't sure how the "within X" of" clause worked when trying to target yourself with an action.
  20. I don't have the cards or rulebook in front of me, but are you sure she can target herself with the action?
  21. I really know next to nothing about Zoraida. No one around here plays her out of Neverborn and I never really read up on her rules too closely. How does she typically play? Does anyone see any particular advantages of running her in Gremlins? How do you think a mixture of Swampfiends with our faction models affects potential tactics?
  22. Yeah that seems to be the major tradeoff. Her Rough Riders are still really accurate.
  23. My brother texted me pics of the upgrades from the Arsenal pack he bought me. A few more details: Hooch Igniter: Blast-based attack that ignores cover and applies Burning +2 to those hit. It also grants a (1) Tactical action that removes Paralyze and Slow from any Kin in a :pulse10 but also applies Burning +1 to them. Must discard after using the Attack but not the Tactical Action Jug Rocket: Moderate damage attack with decent range that ignores LoS but not cover. Also grants a (0) Tactical Action that allows you to target a Kin within 2" and then place them anywhere within 8" (can't interact until end of the turn after this). Discard to attack but not for the (0). My Threatenin' Gun: Solid damage attack that forces a moderate Horror Duel to the target any all models within :pulse3 of the target after damaging. Grants a (0) action allowing a Kin within 8" to take a (1) Action which gains a for the duration. This upgrade DOES NOT get discarded when you use either action, including the attack. Seems like a bit of an oversight, but maybe it was intentional who knows?
  24. Thanks for the info! Sounds more interesting than the original ones
