  1. I think the others missed the point of your question. If the Fence or Small Wall is around the roof or balcony then it would potentially add to the height dropped. I think you would need to discuss this at the start of the game. If the fence or wall was on the floor then we would play that it would cost 1" of movement, but this would allow for 1" of climb up and 1" climb/drop down the other side. In your situation, this fence could potentially increase the height dropped to 3" (or maybe a touch more). I'd probably discuss it with an opponent and suggest that if the model took the 1" movement penalty for climbing over the railing it would not add this to the height dropped. You could also decide whether you would allow a model to move off the higher surface without the penalty for moving past the railing, perhaps adding this to the height dropped. The rules don't fully address this situation, so like many terrain issues, you just need to discuss it first.
  2. Just got this thru email... £10 Discount on Travelodge in November with this code - valid for 48 hours... OV21318G Don't know how many its good for, but feel free to make use of it...
  3. I think you will find tutorials on the 'Coolminiornot' site. Or asthe compny responible for bringing more people into the hobby than any other, you will find useful stuff on the GamesWorkshop site.
  4. I've never had any problem mixing different brands of paint on a pallette. They are all fairly similar. Vallejo's dropper dispensers are great...keep paint for a long time...and allow small amounts of paint to be taken without drying out the entire pot. Saying that I am still using some citadel paints which are 30 years old! Look online for instructions on how to make a wet pallette. Basically plastic tub with a sealable lid, a layer of blotting paper or the thin sponge insert from a Malifaux boxset then greaseproof paper on top. Water keeps the blotting paper/spong damp, paint is mixed on the greaseproof paper. Keeps mixes workable for a long time.
  5. I have bought the Viks avatar and having magnetised them so I can use them on single bases I will be using them as the individual Viks aswell. This frees up Bounty Hunter Vik for Vanessa duty. And Gaining Grounds legal aswell!
  6. I'd agree here. If I need the Viks alive or they are going to be doing lots of killing (and therefore getting in harms way) I'll nearly always take the Librarian. If there are objectives to get, then nearly always Von Schill. Add in Ronin and the Student to leave a cache of 6-8. I've tried a few other models for Claim Jump (Taelor, Ten Thunders Brothers and even Bishop) but with only so, so results.
  7. Any of the Puppet wars models? Would be Wyrd tournament legal aswell.

  9. Manufacturer is Lemax (I was interested enought to go a Googling).
  10. Yes. Mini-rulebook p. 40 gives details.
  11. But, Ratty, wouldn't the controlling player have to run through the steps for each model in turn, and could therefore choose to run through the steps on the Performer first (before running through the same steps on the Dove)? Obviously the same answer, but I'm interested in which reason would take precedence.
  12. Mansfield Travelodge has just released some £19 rooms.
  13. If you find you do like the game then you will likely buy more models and more masters, and most players tend to buy within a single faction, as there is usually synergy between some models, and certainly hiring is permitted across many models within each faction. Depending on budget you and your wife may choose to buy within different factions, or stick to a single faction (as you can still play Masters within the same faction against each other), but either way the Railworkers box set is Arcanist and may sit alongside Rasputina.
  14. Not sure how much you consider to be too much for postage. I guess with these top-loaders you only need a few as you will swap in the cards you are actually using... http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/390383473949 http://www.amazon.co.uk/inch-Toploader-Trading-Card-Holderx/dp/B008OS3IW2 http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/3-5-X-5-inch-Toploader-Trading-Card-Holder-X-25-PACK-/160852328022
  15. Reading what has been added above, if Loco lost the WP duel to charge Pandora then the Charge action would cease immediately and I don't think he would move at all. Unless Loco was already within 6" of Pandora he would have been better walking towards her and then attacking - ensuring that he moved within blast range.
  16. As I said initially. If the 2 actions are truly simultaneous then the trigger on the activating model takes precedence, though I do remember that in certain circumstances, the acting player can choose the order that triggers are applied. In your specific example I think your opponent, as the acting player, would be able to choose the order that Pandora's triggers are applied. Keltheos response in the thread I highlighted (#40 ) gives the most authoritative breakdown of the order triggers like this are applied. Edit: My bad. I assumed we were talking about triggers here.
  17. I believe that when simultaneous triggers like this happen, then the acting player can choose the order that they are resolved. Fuller discussion in this thread... http://www.wyrd-games.net/showthread.php?20176-Order-of-resolution-of-triggers-%28eg-Ronin-Run-Through-vs-BOOM!%29&highlight=ronin
  18. I don't play Ramos, but my son does. His Avatar is one of the few auto-include avatars in the game, making one of the weakest Masters competitive. You probably don't need 2 Large Steampunk Arachnids. The best thing about them is the fact that they yield 3 scrap counters when they die. You will probably be better served starting with more of the little guys. If you start with two little SAs you can create another in your first turn (as a manifest requirement) then use this spider to make a swarm. Also dont forget that after turn one the toolkit has no use as you will have got your manifest requirements and the totem will be lost when you manifest.
  19. Last year the deadline was extended at least a week beyond Gencon, but that was due to the slow running of the webstore, and the fact that so many had not been able to place orders due to demand. This doesn't seem to be a problem this year.
  20. I didn't pay anything last year. It's also worth noting that you can order at least $160 of figures for $16.50 postage, but if you add in the book, then postage will be $47.50.
  21. Gremlin gunline with Ophelia (with or without Somer) has the greatest potential for gunline style play. Massed ranks of Bayou gremlins for 2ss each with a range of 12" (I think) can be pretty effective. Most of the LaCroix kin have 8" range, which can leave them vulnerable to counters. Alternatively VonSchill with 12" range and multiple Trappers could give decent ranged options.
  22. I know quite a few folk in the UK who ordered from Wyrd during GenCon last year. I didn't hear that anyone actually got stung for the tax...Wyrd were quite helpful in how they declared contents I think. Delivery times varied, but that was largely down to dispatch time (Wyrds warehouse was somewhat overwhelmed) rather than actual delivery time.
  23. It does depend on Strategies and Schemes, but I use my Viks aggressively with a large cache (6-8) and often use the Librarian to heal them. If the enemy advances then they are usually in melee on turn 2, but if they are playing defensively it might take a little longer. Jack Daw might be a free VP but he is a huge points sink, and though he might help deny opponents points generally won't help you secure yours. I have got good use out of Viks, VonSchill, Librarian, 2x Ronin, Student of Conflict and a cache of 6ss. Von Schill with his high movement is too good at objective capping to drop unless the Strategy doesn't need it, but Taelor and Sue in place of Von Schill and the Student could make sense for something like Stake a Claim.
