With the Governor asking everyone to be off the roads after 7 pm, this is being delayed until Sunday. The time on Sunday will be 12 to 6 pm.

I haven't gotten many games in yet, but I'm getting the impression that Sidir really needs the extra bit of synergy with McCabe to make him worthwhile most of the time.

So, there's a large snowstorm scheduled to hit tomorrow. When I first heard about it, it didn't sound too bad, but it keeps getting worse. This event may be bumped to Sunday. I will update as soon as I can tell what the weather is going to be like.

PP does have the con pretty well wrapped up, but it's a Steampunk con. Malifaux can (and will) find a place there.

iWall sounds like a new Apple product... I've selected the strategies for the Saturday tournament. Round 1: Treasure Hunt Round 2: Beatdown Round 3: Line in the Sand I'd also like to add that while painting is not required, I do have a certificate for best painted, so it is worth something.

Speaking generally strategically (ie, not Malifaux specific), ceding the initiative is a bad thing unless you are unsure what your opponent is trying to do. Maintaining initiative, and forcing your opponent to react to you, are strong factors in winning games. That said, it's not an area I'm particularly strong in.

For the event I'm running, that being the Saturday Tournament, painting is not required, but proxies are not allowed. All strategies will be shared, and selected from the new Gaining Grounds document.

Auras don't normally effect the model generating them, so even though it says "friendly crooligans," it would not normally effect the casting model. However, if the "including this model" clause is meant to mean the whole spell (rather than just the obscuring trait) it would. I don't think it's clear from the wording, might need a ruling.

My point is that if you have to flip, the action will always be legal, as the number of wds is not fixed. Only actions that cause a fixed number of wounds become ineligible.

But since you don't choose which effect you want (ie, which spirit you'll summon) until after the spell is successfully cast, shouldn't you be able to cast it as long as you have more than 1 wd (the minimum required)? ---------- Post added at 08:43 AM ---------- Previous post was at 08:41 AM ---------- Yeah, after checking the FAQ, I think you're right. I was thinking of the chance of resisting. The Black Joker shouldn't ever effect this, because anything that causes a variable number of wds (when you could flip the BJ) is always legal.

My understanding is that an action is only forbidden if it is guaranteed to inflict enough WDs to the model to kill it. Spells are always legal because you could fail the cast. Once the action has been declared, then the model may end up killing itself.

Quick update: we have confirmed prize support from both Wyrd and the Warstore, who always makes a strong showing at Templecon. I don't have details of what the support will be yet, but there will be prizes!
