  1. I had not realized how huge that Desolation Engine really is. I just might have to get one of those, though my wallet is looking at me like this: :puppy: "Please mister, not anymore, I have a family to feed. Think about the children!" Nice paint job too. This is probably also the very first DE I've seen on the forums. ps. Neither me or my wallet have kids...
  2. In that sense many of the boxes are incomplete. McMourning doesn't have his dogs, Lilith (well, the tots) doesn't have Young Nephilim, Ramos doesn't come with Electrical Creation, Som'er definitely needs a few extra models to be playable and he can create Piglets... And so on... To actually play the game, the Gremlin box is definitely lacking most.
  3. First, add a soulstone cost for the model. Though it doesn't cause serious damage by itself, it is by no means worth 0 SS (1 SS for non-outcasts). Attract seems to be a bit too powerful, even most masters will have to cheat to pass that. It's also a bit vague on do they have to use all their actions moving towards Roulette or is it just a test before activation and how much they have to move. Attraction should at least have a maximum range of 6-12", depending on the models cost. Rush'n'Roulette is too powerful and not as random as you might think. I don't know if you have played any games yet but it's bound to happen often, depending on against what master you are playing and also how big your forces are. A match with Pandora can go through the deck quite quickly. In addition Roulette's survival skills are non-existant as she can't move and she dies when somebody looks at her. Rush'n'Roulette pretty much equals a dead master for either crew and there's pretty much nothing you or your opponent can do about it (except for not activating the ability before black joker is gone, which makes it even more abusable). The point of this game is usually that you can prepare for things like this and you lose because you screw up. Not because someone brought a 0SS model to the game. Also Broken Heart with a Black Joker equals zero points for the opponent as the Black Joker is the lowest valued card in the deck. Anyways, you might easily gain 3-7 VP with a freakin' zero cost model just by using an action a few times. Especially if you are holding both Jokers in hand which happens sometimes. Lure should be CC: 12 :crows:masks, there's no suit called swords. Same spells have the same casting cost for all models. And yes, she's available to both players but it's a bit pointless to have a model that people will always take, just in case the opponent also took her and it might screw your game. And even if you manage to take out your opponents Roulette, she can still screw your game by herself. But, there's no need for me to face her anyway, so as long as your opponent is okay with it, you're free to say that Roulette wins you the game if you flip a card bigger that three.
  4. Aside from saving a few bucks/pounds/euros/monkey foreskins/your favored currency, there's no need to buy the crew boxes. Of course you can just ask them if they will order the box for you.
  5. Spamming gazillions of Self-loathing, Project Emotions or Obeys becomes a viable option with that one too. And yes, after seeing something like that happening once, the Doppleganger willl probably be quite hated.
  6. I normally don't watch hockey but the first fifteen minutes of the match was so fun I couldn't stop watching. I guess there will be a few new TVs sold this weekend... I've heard some of the hockey fans really don't like the national team losing
  7. Hard to Wound should keep her damage output at least a little lower on the blasts. And Seamus should be able to do wonders with his Flintlock with Rasputina's low defence if she's not careful with the use of Ice Pillars. Lure her out in the open and shoot her into oblivion. I haven't tried my Tina agains't Ressers but on the paper it doesn't seem such an amazingly good match-up for Tina though there is a lot of low defence.
  8. It's always nice to play with and against painted models. Most of the Malifaux miniatures I use are completely painted but if I get a new model I really want to try out I'll play with bare metal. It doesn't matter to me much if the opponents pieces are painted or not. The thing I hate are too many proxied models on one field. I might even go as far as to not play if some starts fielding his '40k Orks and Space marines as Nicodem or Pandora and their gangs. As Guild that would be quite fine, we all know that no one really cares about the Guild any way. As to when a model is completely painted, I'd have to say that none of the undercoat should be showing. The quality of the painting doesn't affect this so much as not everyone can be a professional painter.
  9. This isn't exactly a game that benefits much from any list builders. Because the scenarios are randomized and you never know what you are facing, building a list at home might not be the best option. You are supposed to make your list as pretty much the last thing before you start playing. And counting mostly single digit numbers shouldn't be that much of a chore. http://www.engineeringcalculator.net/CrewBuilder.html This on works though if you want to make some lists just to get the general idea what you can fit in your lists.
  10. You might be better off trying to take the pictures from a bit farther away. The background is clearly in focus but the actual miniature is not. Though the pictures might be smaller, it would most likely still be easier to see what's going on.
  11. I'd wait for the next book or two before a reprint. That way we might have most of the rules fixed and in one book too. Any ways, it doesn't take too long to remember most of the rules and errata by heart. At least for the models you see on the table most often.

That's not a viable address to show off the pictures. We can't get inside your mailbox to see what you have there. And you probably wouldn't want us to. Try Google Sites or upload the pictures straight here.
  13. A bad cast likely. Mine were just fine.
  14. He sort of has to be summoned... Okay, you can buy him too but it's most of the time better to just combine your abominations to a nasty big one. You can just summon one or two abominations, combine and save a few more stones to something else.
  15. I've painted some more models again. Rasputina and the Ice Gamin are now ready to be glued to the bases which I didn't complete yet. I also painted four Piglets but didn't take any pictures yet. They performed well in the last game though. I'll take some proper pictures of them too when I finish the Ice Golem and Essence of Power too. Ctritique etc. are welcome. I myself am quite happy how well they turned out. The Rosemary&Co brushes work really well for me at least. Gotta get me some more of those.
  16. Pg. 54. In the Declaring a target section. Any model within line of sight may be targeted. And with the errata, even your own master may be the target.
  17. All henchmen should also have a hunchback. "Yeees, Mashteeeeeer..."
  18. Mac with Safari here too. The downloads work just fine for me. But I'm still using oldiegoldie Tiger.
  19. (Pigs with wings were done already ) Those helmet wings should probably be a good size for piglets. Cherub wings might be good for a Warpig though they require some filing and stuffing to make the position good.
  20. How much terrain are you using? The rulebook recommends about half of the table covered with some kind of terrain. There should be plenty to stop too many unwanted lures happening. Especially when you get Reconnoiter and aren't really forced to stand in plain sight. If you don't have enough terrain, get some more or use beer cans or books or something like that. This game really needs the terrain. Listwise, you could probably use more models so it wouldn't hurt that much to lose one or two. This of course depends on game size, but is very important especially in Reconnoiter if you are trying to go for killing some of the opponents models in addition to claiming the 4VP for being every where. Maybe something like the Convict and filling the rest of the list with Ronin and a couple of stones for maximum fun :vb_tongue Hans is most likely also worth a try with the nice headshot trigger. Used later in turn it can be quite devastating on the undead with their low defence. And Bishop should sort of be less squishy than a Viktoria...
  21. I don't know what kind of brushes you are using but synthetic brushes tend to curl at the tip. There's pretty much nothing you can really do about it. That has happened to pretty much every synthetic brush I have. You can try dipping the brush in boiling water and then straighten the bristles. It might or might not help. Natural hair shouldn't do that, at least not as much as synthetic, with proper care. If your natural brushes are curling, then you'll just have to suck it up and buy new ones.
  22. Some models could quite easily be painted as mimes. Rasputina for example, she's already doing the invisible wall (at least with small modifications). Leveticus could also look quite fine with a mime face and a beret. The Ice Gamin would also look great with a beret, trousers and braces. Actually... I happen to have an unpainter Cult of December box on my table... Maybe... just maybe I should...
  23. Yes, mosquitoes are something you want. They should make it somewhat easier to get Gremlin's luck within range without exposing Som'er. And they will help you control your pigs with sooey. Of course the crappy casting makes this require a few bigger cards but with all the sacrifing and dying going on, it shouldn't be much of a problem to get a few extra cards.
  24. (Post #5 had some tips but here's a more specific version) Get a really pale skin color (in my case, P3 Ryn Flesh), mixing white into a darker one might work too. Mix in some olive/goblin green (P3 Ordic Olive) and some grey (P3 Ironhull Grey). Add the green first, just enough to get a bit zombiesh tone into the paint. Then add the grey so the colour looks a bit washed out. You might need a couple of tries to get it right. Paint the whole skin liberally with this, let it flow on the diaper and teddy too. If you think it's not dark enough for shadowing, add a tiny dab of dark grey/black, add some water and apply to the recesses. With the original mix, start adding a little more of the skin colour to make the skin look a bit more healthy. Mix in enough water to make the paint flow well, not cover so much and make the blending a bit easier. Start painting with this mixture to everywhere but the darkest shadows. Then add some more skin tone and repeat, stay a bit farther away form the shadows with every layer of paint. A few layers helps to make it look smoother. When the paint mix still has some minor green-gray tinting, start adding white if you want to make the skin brighter (I didn't). Getting the first mix right is probably the hardest part. You don't want to make it too green or he really will look like a zombie, not an evil demonic killer baby. The skin should look almost real but the shadowing makes it look all evil and wrong. Along with the giant knife and mutilated teddy. Experimenting with a little purple or blue might not be too bad either.
  25. The Mimes and Steamfitters Union supports Lalo's noble cause. We'll be doing our best to block Wyrd Miniatures shippings with invisible walls. We'll also tie Nathan together with a sad ***** using invisible ropes of doom.
