  1. I will say this, I enjoy 40k. I have 2,000 points for Chaos Space Marines in a Nurgle Deathguard theme. When they are all on the table, they are a wicked sight to see. A fully paiting army is a beautiful thing, but man is it a lot of work.
  2. I think it is barrier of entry as well. Look at what it takes to buy a 40k "Battle Force" it;'s about $90 for 30 models and 1,000 points. Now look at at the Malifaux Bos Sets, $30 for about 5 models, and can play 25 points. It is so much easier to pick up and casually enjoy a game like Malifaux. 40k takes WORK to be able to enjoy.
  3. To me the logos look way off on the colors. They don't look good to me at all.
  4. A number of online retailers have dumped their stock for 50% or less of retail price. None of the stores around me are carrying it, shame too, the models are very interesting, but the game play was only alright in my opinion.
  5. I remember well going to see the movie in '81. I believe it was the second film i had seen in a theater, first being Empire Strikes Back. I own the DVD and still watch it anytime it shows up on cable. One of my all time favorites, and Burgess Meredith is so fun to listen to. That said, I think this looks cool. I did see the Stygian Witches in the trailer and couldn't miss Medusa. Ralph Fines as Hades and Liam Neeson as Zeus? Wow, very nice. Agreed it will be a far departure from the original, but it seems you have to hack and slash stuff up these days to be a success at the box office, cater to the young crowd. I expect a fun movie, but nothing can take the place of the original.
  6. That's because it was written by the legal team, not by marketing executives. It is about getting the message across in a clear and concise way, using language that leaves no room for misunderstanding. If I started a site called Malifaux Matters for people to talk about Malifaux, and used the Wyrd logo, etc on my site, you can bet Nathan and crew would be in touch, or their lawyers would be. Get off your high horses people, GW is a PUBLIC company, they have to do this, just like Sony would, or Coke, Microsoft, Disney, or any other large publicly traded multi-national corporation. If you don’t like big business, that fine, but don’t act like GW is somehow “evil” for protecting their rights.
  7. You want geeky tattoos? I gots some geeky tattoos. These pics are about 3 months apart. More background color and a bit of crisping some of the older line work in the second one here. Still a work in progress of course...
  8. I am a Press Ganger for Privateer, play the heck out of Warmachine, favorite faction is Cryx. I am in a competative league for 40k, play Chaos Space Marines, Death Guard themed Nurgle Army. And play The Resurrectionists in Malifaux. What can I say, I like playing the undead :nicodem
  9. We appreciated it as well, and you still managed a point against the Wings tonight, and the Jackets jump from 9th to 3rd in the West. Man the Central is in rough shape all over.
  10. Hey EricJ San Jose at the CBJ You can afford to give us a point or two tonight!
  11. Wings having some serious goaltending issues, they blew a two-goal lead for the third time in seven games on Saturday night. They have given up more than twice as many goals as the Jackets have so far. Crazy.
  12. Good to see you, TheBugKing! I think about you every time I get my Deathjack out, and see those wicked shoulder pads
  13. HAH guess I should probably also mention that even my user name is hockey driven. I have used it in many different communities going back more than a decade. I obviously took it from Georges Vezina, from which the Vezina Trophy is named. Yea, I really love Hockey
  14. My family is from Michigan so I grew up a Red Wings fan. I live in Ohio, so when Columbus was granted a franchise I bought season tickets for the Blue Jackets in a heartbeat. I was a season ticket holder from 2000 - 2007, but had to let them go due to rising costs, and the increasing size of my family. When I originally bought the tickets I was single, now I am married and have three kids, that does change the priorities a bit. Still follow the Jackets and rest of the League very closely and am thrilled they have opened the season going 5-1 so far!
  15. Hello everyone, I have been lurking around here for quite a while but have decided to officially get to posting! I recognize quite a few people from some other Forums, and am glad to see this community growing and surging with enthusiasm. Like many, I got my first look at Wyrd at GenCon in 2008, and loved the models, and liked the ideas they were sharing about their upcoming game. Then at GenCon this year, I was blown away with Malifaux. Got to chat with EricJ quite a bit, and he personally put the Undertaker's Lot in my hands, and I have not stopped playing Nicodem and The Resurrectionists since. In the Malifaux Tournament, two guys from my local gaming shop took 2nd and (tied for) 3rd place, so the buzz has been wonderful around here. I have thrown my support behind Malifaux, and hope to see it grow and grow, great work on a great game! [url=http://www.miniaturemarket.com/inc/sdetail/631399]
