At 25 I have been running Vicki's, Taelor, Misaki, 2 Ronin. 0 Soulstones. I normally choose to go 1 less scheme so that they have 2 soulstones, and I love it. At 35, I would just add Hans or the Convict Gunslinger, possibly Student of Conflict. I haven't tried running Hamelin with them yet, I am interested in it though. My Vicki's die pretty fast without the soulstone support, but it gives me time to get my other big guns in position.

What troops do you plan on taking in the list?

I had a blast playing the demo at GenCon. I was a fun little game, not hard to learn. The mini's had lots of style also.

Can you cite a source on this? I'm not finding it anywhere. I don't see it in the main rulebook, errata or additional errata. The phrase "without any penalty", would say this is not correct.

They look really good, I didn't like the Desolation Engine until I saw this one. I have to say though that the gray ring around the bases just look make them look a bit unfinished and I can't put my finger on why.

You can always strip the model if you mess it up.

I'd probably go with yellow myself. It still ties into your theme. Nice clean work btw.
