  1. There is a link in other posts to a handy list of all the changed cards and what was changed. V2 Cerberus had stalker leap and roar modified. The v2 can be very small and on a couple of cards I have is half cut off at the card edge. Maybe you have a v2 card that is slightly off centre and the v2 has been quillotined off?
  2. Mmmmm Macaroni Pie! Because sometimes pasta and cheese just needs that extra chloresterol. Makes a change from mince pieces.
  3. Definitely looks (and sounds) much more like 'ardcoat! :dontknow:
  4. Are you sure that is purity seal? I use it regularly and it is a satin/matte finish not a gloss. I have never had models sprayed with purity come up as shiny as that.
  5. Thing is, regardless of how you want to pronounce it Seamus suits the character. James and the Redchapel Gang hasn't got the same ring to it. In the same vein; Seamus and the Giant Peach would just be silly!
  6. Corretc pronounciation but wrong reasoning old chap. Sorry to be pedantic but sean in Irish (and for that matter Scots) Gaelic is pronounced see-an and it is not a name. Sean translates as 'old' Seán on the other hand is a name pronounced shaun or Shawn. It is the Irish equivalent of the English name John. SE is not automatically pronounced as Sh, it depends on the context of the whole word. In this case the following letter a has a fada (or acute). This changes the pronounciation of the whole word. Which gives you the mildly interesting fact that 'Seán sean' means 'old John'. Confusingly Seamus would be pronounced Shay-mus if you were speaking about the person, but if you were addressing them directly it changes to something much more like Hamish. But then again, the english version of Seamus is James. Anyway, back to the real world.....................
  7. Ask Maelstrom to split the order. I haven't found Maelstrom that great recently- regularly find that stuff listed as in stock is not in fact in stock. Last time i phoned them about this i was told this is a fault of their stock control. Apparently they record stock as expected rather than as actually in the delivery! Bizarre
  8. Yup, Liam managed to get me a rules manual a couple of weeks back!
  9. So excited at another potential stockist I forgot, sorry. Welcome to the Forum
  10. Wolrlds at War carrying Malifaux? That would be great - I'm in Edinburgh. Is he going to stock it or just order it on request? My LGS (Black Lion) orders it in but Malifaux stuff can be erratic- mind you I have had trouble getting stuff from Maelstrom as well. To be fair to BL they are very good getting stuff normally and I am told that it is the supplier that is poor, but that a new supplier is taking over soon.
  11. do you mean trading primordail magic for poltergeist? Waldgeist isn't a totem.
  12. scanery = scenery. Damn those titchy keyborads!
  13. Either I am getting Deja Vu or there has been lots of discussion of this topic in other threads. Surely if there is any advantage in establishing range this applies to both players and therefore neither gains any superiority. And as Ratty says it is irrelevant. Players who regularly reuse the same pieces of scenery or indeed battleboards will develop a knowledge of the scanery dimensions etc (if I know the hill I have just placed is 4" from one side to the other then I can use that to help me work out how far away a model the other side is) - nobody claims that is unfair.
  14. The first letters of all the blanked out paragraphs in the rules manual pdf spell out Ph'nglui mglw'nafh Cthulhu R'lyeh wgah'nagl fhtagn
  15. the box set is listed on pre-order from Arcane Miniatures -w/c 28 March.
  16. she is wearing pants! oh wait, you mean trousers.
  17. Fluff text says one, but character description says the Vik that doesnt have the clockwork pistol gets paired nihonto masamune
  18. hmm... the bounty hunter Vik fits the description of how she is dressed in the train and the swordmistresses outfit is much less practical. But, the maamune is described as long curved and oriental looking which doesn't fit well with bounty hunters sword. Swordmistress vik is holding a pair of what look like masamune style swords. Now, would the real vik conceivably trust doppelVik enough to give her the masamune?
  19. From experience, of the shops in Scotland listed Black Lion Games and Intrepidations - don't actually stock the models (BLG has the rule books) but will order them in for you. Static Games - large selection of models. Anyone know any other shops in Scotland that stock the models
  20. hi there, been hanging around the boards for a while but never introduced myself. Only played a few games of Malifaux, but really love the minis so crews I've got are; Lilith Pandora Zoraida Seamus Sonnia Lady J Ortegas (lord Chompy is on order) In process of painting them up and learning the rules. Oh and live in Edinburgh, Scotland.
  21. ratty You got me thinking.. tlhIngan Hol is not yet an official language in the UK but we are equally wyrd/wierd in other ways. Jedi is an official religion and you can take an A level in conversational elvish (a set out by JRR Tolkein- who was of course an english teacher).
  22. Guys thanks for the advice. I will continue to read through the forums and will try and keep up to date. Thing is I love Malifaux, I love the quirkiness and the weird combos you can set up. And I certainly ain't going to give it up. This all came about because my opponent and I can't agree on what is 'in' and what is 'out'. I think the answer to this is to change my approach and find a different opponent.
  23. wrote a whole big response on this then got told I was locked out- whole thing deleted. basically-to quote; As for the other part.... you gotta just read man. So what if it's 2 threads? Thats not even much to read or keep track of. As for rulings etc in other threads, just look at the ones that relate to your models. Big things will hit the Extra Errata thread, like the fix for Superior Undead. So you can mostly just ignore those if you don't want to read through a lot of stuff. YES - I get that! Read through the threads- then read through the other thread, then read through the other threads, then have your opponent quote a thread which you havent read . Thats what we have to do! why stop at 2 threads, or 3 or 4. Which is the definitive thread?
  24. woodschow Yet again I grovel in apologies............... I could have sworn that the thread said cards would be replaced for free.
  25. karn many thanks for prompt response. I am sorry I sounded 'hacked off' but it was frustration that caused it. Malifaux is brilliant - in fact i would go as far as genius and I really, really love it, but just had to sound off. Maybe I could refine my points to a couple of pleas firstly - leave LINK alone! ( trouble I have is that when you say the rules have been in place for over a year and a half -yes the basic mechanics have but the actual detail?) second - even if I follow your link to the errata - that narrows it down, but I still have to read 2 threads - the official faq and errata, then the extra errata items and even then I am not sure because I read threads in other sections - resolved rules and then Rising Powers resolved rules spring to mind, and they refer to errata and then to corrected errata.
