  1. Yeah the photo is a bit crap! I'm just pretty psyched about it so got a bit impetuous! I'm going to do all the GSing tonight and then can hopefully get her painted over the weekend.
  2. I'm a stickler for themes and didn't think the stock Shikome meshed well with the general look of a Seamus crew, so I'm in the middle of making him a Shikome of his very own. The wings are from the Wyrd Shikome and the body is from a Reaper Banshee. Pretty straight forward arms/wings trade off but I think she looks cool Currently debating whether it's too late (it's 1am here) to start GSing her shoulders......
  3. Malifaux Graphic Novels? Yes please!
  4. To be honest, his list confused me a bit as well. He usually plays 'tina so I think Marcus was kind of new ground for him. I used to play Marcus but found him pretty difficult to use properly (which is helped a lot by some of the book two stuff). I think he took the acolyte as an objective grabber, I was quite aware of this though (as it's the only thing they ever seem to do well!) so made sure to keep him threatened should he venture from his deployment location. I'm a more experienced player so I did give him some advice - get more beasts and take SS rather than a useless totem if you can.
  5. I had: Lady J w/6ss Scales Judge Executioner 3 x DM's Plant Evidence Breakthrough (Announced) Hold Out (unannounced) He had: Marcus w/4ss Essence of Power (he'd forgotten his Jackalope card) Myranda Cerberus Rattler December Acolyte Protect the Wagon 2 x unannounced schemes Turn 1: Everyone shuffles about a bit, nothing spectacular. My right flank has Lady J, Judge and a DM facing off against Marcus. The rest of his/my group are getting into position to attack/defend the wagon. Turn 2: I move a Death Marshal to take a pot-shot at Marcus, I miss but Marcus takes the bait and charges the Marshal, slaughtering him. This opens the path for Judge to charge, but Lady J moves up and casts 'combat prowess' on him first. Judge charges Marcus and does 5 damage. On the other side of the board the executioner, a DM, the Acolyte, Rattler and Myranda all hang about sheepishly as the Wagon trundles up. Turn 3: After reflipping with a SS, I get initiative (first time that's EVER worked) which plants Lady J right in Marcus's face. after some serious cheating and soul-stoning Lady J comes out on top. Marcus is dead - huzzah! A cerberus leaps from nowhere and charges Lady J, who ripostes it to death with some more seriously lucky SSing! His left flank is gone - phew! Turn 4: He gets impatient and charges the Executioner with a Rattler. Does decent damage but the Executioner retaliates by killing the crap out of it and healing back to full. The DM's and Judge move in to plant some evidence while Myranda and the Acolyte panic. Myranda turns into a cerberus and backs off while the Acolyte fails to rip a DM a new one. The Guild are pretty much owning the board by this point. Turn 5: (we were running out of time so finishing on this turn) Justice casts 'melee prowess on Judge who goes and twats the Wagon for 2 damage. Seeing the end in sight, Myranda, in her big cat form, tries to stop the executioner by charging him. She kills him but due to 'slow to die' he twats her back, and decapitates her! (I'm not sure where all his control cards went, I think I've got the order mixed up a bit.) Healing back to full before activating and beating the crap out of the wagon, destroying it. The last DM to activate gets the last point I need for my strategy. We call it game here. Final results were: Guild: 7vp's (4 for strategy, 2 for breakthrough, 1 for hold out) Arcanists: 0 (never did find out what his schemes were) Thoughts: - This being my first game with Guild I have to say, Guild are brutal! - I think the game was definitely tipped in my favour. Aside from having a useless totem (well, Marcus isn't really built for totems anyway is he?) I don't think his crew was a great choice for his strategy, he just really wanted to try Marcus and I Lady J, I got lucky with the strategies. - The Executioner is immense, I LOVE this guy. - Riposte is my new favourite trigger. Well, second to 'tina's 'overpower' anyway. - Myranda is crap.
  6. An app to help keep track of the game (vp's, effects etc would be swish. Unnecessary, but swish!
  7. I agree, Matt Smith and David Tennant are too similar, although that's not necessarily a bad thing. Personally I was rooting for Paterson Joseph to be the next Doctor, he'd be amazing!
  8. I LOVE BBT. It's one of my favourites for watching while painting (seen them all a few times now!). Best of all, just got my g/f into it. She said she didn't like Buffy at first, but we just finished watching through them all. Now it's Sheldon's time to shine.
  9. I'm the receptionist and body piercer at my friendly local tattoo studio. So yeah, maiming and torture, that's my bag
  10. Um..... He is finished, about two posts up!
  11. Cool! Nice use of the gun. Here's my Judge, looking dashing in his Stetson.
  12. Awwww! They're adorable!............. I mean *ahem* yes very appropriate....
  13. So, we've all had lots of time to utilise the 'Hats & Guns' sprues and I was wondering what you've all came up with. I just finished building a Lady J crew using the hats. Justice got the bonnet, Judge got the cowboy hat (duh) and the Executioner got the top hat (which gives him a super-cool shadow as you can see). Rubbish pics just now but I'll put up better ones once they're painted. I'm very curious to see what other people have done with the bits
  14. I really like your bases, great idea using the square ones as pavements.
  15. I tend to play Levi as an IN YOUR FACE powerhouse and build the crew around that. Alyce, SPA's, DE's are a given, but I also like to use Teddy, a Steamborg, Killjoy and Ryle. Depending on scenario or the attendance of Killjoy I might take a necropunk or two and I can see a Watcher being very, very handy. Other than that I usually find my SS would be better off spent on more SPA's. I'm sure there's all manner of configurations of lists that work well with him, but when I play Levi I play him solely to smash stuff up
  16. Very tight between Stark and Android, and although 'roid's are probably better painted I really like the bases for Stark's. Also the Ortega's piss me off! +1 for Stark.
  17. Whenever my gf complains about my spending I just ask her coyly how much her last haircut was It's no excuse though for me though!
  18. I used them to great effect vs the Ortegas a while ago. Brought two of the blighters and managed to 'bottleneck' most of the ortegas. I used my high cards to keep them alive as long as possible but they made it a nightmare for my opponent! By the time they died he had a Rogue Necromancy and two Flesh constructs all up in his grill I'm really looking forward to them.
  19. Good. That saved you from a can of woop-ass!
  20. So wiat, is she only in boxes purchased directly from Wyrd?
  21. Hi. My name's Mark, and I have a problem. Just went on Maelstrom to order a Lady Justice box (my sworn enemy! My ancestors will be turning in their graves!) and obviously the hats and guns blister is almost compulsory (so the Judge and Lady J can kick undead ass in style). But then I thought, "She's going to need a totem too, eh? Hmmm, her Scales of Justice is a rather nice model, and I can see it's abilities being quite handy. Oh an executioner wouldn't go amiss would it, nice bit of melee support? He'd look just dandy in that bowler hat too......Hmmm, they'd look really cool on those Graveyard bases wouldn't they?" Sigh...... It's lucky I don't have kids or they'd be pretty damned hungry about now. I feel better having spoke about that. Thanks for your support.
  22. This actually sounds pretty plausible, and fun! It also paves the way for a new faction of steampunk Mad Max types, which would be just fantastic! Rasputina needs an igloo with wheels.
  23. Well at least you'll have all that cake to keep you going, Happy birthday!
  24. The Judge's face isn't decayed, his jaw fell off after catching a glimpse of Lady J in the shower.
  25. - When you sell off other miniatures to buy more Malifaux stuff. - When your ears prick up whenever you overhear the words 'Avatar', 'Fate', 'minion', 'master' or any other 'real-world' word associated with Malifaux.
