  1. That's pretty awesome! It's just the kind of stuff I enjoy. MSB certainly needs a US distributor. Maybe we should petition Fozzbozz!
  2. I've been watching these from the start and think it is just a superb idea! Looking forward to the downloadables, that way I can archive them and carry them around in my laptop to show folks. Congrats to Wyrd again on this batch of releases. I always look forward to seeing Ritual's paint on anything (big fan here) and these should be especially nice!
  3. July releases are finally in! In this offering we have Trixi the Galactic Repo Agent and Smap the Galactic Claims Agent. Both figures retail for $4.99 USD and come unpainted with a 30mm round premium style base. Due to the nature of the Smap character as an unusual alien, we have only made 20 castings of him available at this time. Also, there is a preview of our big upcoming release Hesperus the Black Widow which will be available in August. Be sure to check the Shoppe page for the latest additions!
  4. I'm right there with you Nathan! I got a little taste of scale-iosis with our previous releases over at the TMP. If the figures look comperable across the brands (which most recent ranges do as illustrated in the terrific photos folks posted) I don't see why everyone makes such a fuss.
  5. Brilliant! I played GW's Dark Furture board game a couple of times and the most fun for me was customizing the cars. Makes me want to bust out my Mel Gibson DVDs!
  6. These are actually quite cool. I was out at the caster whenever Steve picked these up, so I got to see the masters. They are pretty good sized (around the same height as an average Space Marine) and the details are pretty crisp. Not too hip on the integrated bases but that's fixed easily enough. He said he has plans at this point to do some heavy weapons guys next so you can field them as fully outfitted squads.
  7. I certainly hope you guys are gonna be brining all this stuff to GenCon with you. I am planning on camping out at the Dark Age area quite a bit and dropping a few bucks there myself.
  8. I am way more interested in this material than ever using green stuff. I have a few specific technical questions regarding it's handling properties and it may all be answered under the umbrella "works like green stuff" but I'll ask anyway. Does it respond to tools in the same way? (sticky? needs lube/water?) In that regard, how does it respond to rubber clay shapers? Since the elasticity is less, does it blend and smooth seamlessly to flat, smooth cured areas. (adding another muscle to an arm or leg) Does it discolor much after being vulcanized? (not as important, but just for fun) I can't wait to get some!!!
  9. Thanks everyone! It was fun to paint. The base is all plastic. The box is from some lego-like construction set, I forget the name. There is a GW tank wheel, MK6 Space Marine bolter, 2 MK6 backpacks, a vent from a Sherman tank kit (I think) and an antenna array from a BFG Chaos cruiser. Big fun!
  10. Okay here's my entry for TT II. The paint scheme is built around two main colors and those were used also in the pallid flesh tone. This was the first time I experimented with alternate flesh colors using purples and greens. Thanks for all the great comments in the contest! Vote Here! Bid here!
  11. Whew! I'm glad the deadline's 8/31! Sound fun, I have an idea formulating as well!
  12. Wow! Sorry for the delay on your reply Ali! I've been busting my brushes for GenCon and haven't looked in here in a while. I also have n't had time to shoot any more pics of the Victoriana for the same reasons. If you send me a PM with your shipping address, I will send you one to keep for your very own. Or - if you are going to be at GenCon, I can pass one along to you there.:bounce:
  13. :hmpf: Hmmmm. Biggest dragon? That's like me holding my arms over my head and saying I'm seven feet tall. :lame:
  14. I just hope for that price it looks as cool as Karl's Keeper of Time Dragon. I was under the impression the ME dragon was to be resin, metal is a bit daunting for something that size.
  15. http://www.morgankeithstudios.com/shoppe/terrivic_size.jpg We just received our production castings of the long awaited Terri the Steampunk Cowgirl and Victoriana the Healer figures. Terri is suited up and ready to deal damage in any Steampunk tabletop or RPG game. Victoriana is a gorgeous and imposing amazon, towering over her comrades, but her bedside manner puts all who are injured at ease. Both are cast with an optional weapon sprue and come complete with a round plastic premium 30mm base. Each retails for $4.99 USD. Visit the MKStudios Shoppe page to nab these lovely ladies for your very own!
  16. Thanks everyone! I will say she is a bit "cheeky". Props where they're due though. Ewan's little Deadlings are a real feat. Just in comparison to the bases they seem quite tiny! My favorite is the little mummy guy too! Lotsa tiny wrappings!
  17. Not exactly a Deadling.... Painted by Ramsey. But since you're showing Impact stuff anyway......
  18. Well, it came about when I was at ReaperCon. I overheard they were planning a pirate boxed set and went away and sculpted one. I figured, "Hey, elfy pirate chick! I can do that!" It was too big (tall) and too BIG (y'knowwhutImean). So after getting feedback from Ron, I sculpted another identical one with smaller proportions and they were kind enough to include it in their box o' pirates. That's okay, though, I'm getting kinda tired of doing pirates too at this point since it's like my 4th one (3 of which will see production). The stuff I'm doing for IMPACT! is still girly but not pirates. @LeadAsbestos - Yes, Reaper does assign sculpts based on concept art by their in-house designer Tim 'Talin' Colier. However, they also buy original sculpts from freelancers which they feel may fit in with their line. I understand PP does not normally buy sculpts but assigns commission based on a sculptor's track record, style and notoriety. I will be sculpting something specific to show them at GenCon.
  19. How ironic! This is exactly what the Rougue Trader stuff looked like when it first came out. Very cool. I hope they continue to grow, the concept for the game sounds really fun!
  20. Excellent work on the details! Those are some BIG hat pins! I, too, am a fan of the area just below her belt on the back!
  21. I agree with Vince, the face color is a bit flat and needs a little "rosying up". Kudos to you for all the work on setting him in the environment! This really takes the figure up to the next level! More like this!
  22. I really like the eyes and the expression on this figure! The colors are terrific and lend to the cold feel of the scene but the blue seems just a tad bright and is distracting. Great work on the base!
  23. Thanks Nathan! It got squeezed out by all of the superb GD winners who migrated from Colorado to nab a Sophie Trophy. But, I did get a bronze for Third Place in the Warlord Unit category with my Wood Elf Archers. I'm still compiling the pictures for those. I was pretty happy overall though, it was my first painting contest ever (not counting internet things) and I got some great feedback on my painting techniques from the judges Amy Brehm, Sue Wachowski and Jen Haley. They were all really sweet and scolded me appropriately for the areas where I cheated.

    Gencon 06

Vicky and I will be there and are already working on our painting entries. I talked a bit about this with Sue at ReaperCon and there is a push to try and get coverage for the painting contest in Dragon Magazine. While not mini-specific in content, it does have a huge world-wide circulation to the gaming community. Apparently Paizo is reluctant to publish pics if there happen to be "questionable" winning entries in terms of content suitable for all ages. If you really want to beef up the contest coverage, pester the hell outta the Paizo guys at the show and talk them into adding coverage of the contest. I also believe Mengu will be shooting pics of the entries for EO again but I didn't get to ask him. [politics] I would like to first offer my utmost admiration for all of the fantastic painters worldwide who have been recognized for their superior painting abitlities by having been awarded a GW Demon award of various metals. My beef comes not from the painters or community, but from the company itself. I will likely never enter (let alone win) a GD contest due to my view of GW's business practices. With that in mind, I hold my bronze Sophie much dearer than anything GW would ever award, simply because I know that the spirit of that award is to foster community, promote the hobby in general and encourage the skills of the entrants, as opposed to some of the judging criteria I have heard has occurred at some of the GD events. [/politics] Anyway, I'm looking forward to seeing more of you folks in person. GenCon is a fantastic experience and it's even more fun meeting up there with friends you know.
