I need to consult the hive mind concerning some color choices on a model I'm currently working on. The pictures aren't great, but at this point I mostly need color advice anyway, and the colors came out fairly true to the model (although the bookstand is way overexposed).
Some notes: The dress will be highlighted up to white, and the flesh will be highlighted with golden flesh from RMS - it will be similar in color to the poledancer I painted last month. The cloak and bookstand are the only finished parts. These will be together on a base, with the female a base's height above the book, like a step or dias, and her left foot will be pointing approximately towards the center of the bookstand.
Here's what I'm after for advice:
1. Highlighting her hair - I'm inclined to highlight it with brown, but leave it primarily black. Should I choose a more exotic & contrasty color, such as green, instead?
2. What color should I do the fiddly bits at her waist, and her buttons?
3. The back of the cloak is painted with a mix of regular and metallic paints. I was thinking of painting the corners of the book, her jewelry, and her dagger with NMM, but will it look too strange to mix the two?
I'm thinking of trying OSL, from the bookstand onto her - I figured it would mostly color her from the waist down, but I have no idea how to go about it. Also, someone else has told me I should do the bookstand blue if I want to do OSL because it will make a better color on the model than the light green. I choose green for the bookstand because a quick scan with google images showed me alot of necromancers summoning spirits that were green.. Any advice or opinion on this issue would also be appreciated.
Thanks,
