yanlosbeard
Imagine the situation: you are going to a 5-round, 35ss tournament which requires the use of a fixed 50ss pool from which you can choose your models/upgrades. You have selected your 'must haves' and have 1ss remaining in your pool (which also includes Yin and Izamu). Do you purchase Fortify The Spirit or Reliquary with that remaining 1ss? Which is more essential for Yan Lo, in your opinion?
Daysleeper
i would think at 35SS Reliquary is realy strong, so that.

I was actually thinking that at 35ss, Izamu would be less likely to die. So Reliquary might be a bit unnecessary?
Mutter
I assume, in your 'must haves' you have the Terracotta Warrior included? Then it doesn't matter, just swap out whatever you need ...

Nikodemus
No you're not missing anything. Yan Lo can hire retainers but Terracotta Warriors are not retainers. They're Ten Thunder Construct Mimics, so a few non-TT crews can hire them. Not Yan Lo though. Oh and there's plenty of killing power in 35ss crews to kill off an Ancestor model, even Izamu. I'd go with Reliquary. You get comparatively more out of it, bringing back a 10ss model in a 35ss game. Mutter
Oh damn, didn't even realize that I had jumped into a Resser thread. My bad. So, yeah, play Yan Lo as a TT, than you won't have that problem ...
EnternalVoid
Will Weight in on taking Reliquary as well. While at 35ss you are less likely to lose Izamu it is still entirely possible and if that is your heaviest hitter they might be willing to go the extra length to remove him. With Reliquary you but them on a bit of a spot in that you a summon a new one if the first one dies, it makes them rethink how much resources they are willing to put into killing him in the first place. It also lets you be more aggressive with him without compromising your offensive power. Yan Lo can help his own defense but getting his Path upgrades to make himself harder to kill. This is the big thing for me! You can play him more aggresive knowing that they have to deal with him and you can then bring him back. Just look out for a corpsemarker because Izamu has "warriors death" (or something like that) that sacrafices him at the end he doesn't drop a corpse himself.
clockworkspide
I'm fairly sure A Warrior's Death is optional, so you can just let him die normally if you absolutely need his corpse marker to resummon (and don't need the free attack).
