parich
I like these models overall, but there is one piece I have no idea what to do with. The spine/neck of the head that one of the Youngs is holding goes into a roundish piece covered in...something. I had originally planned to leave this off until I thought about how impossible it would be to get the Young to balance on the tiny spine without it. Any ideas on what this piece is? How is everyone else painting this? I'm at a total loss.
taozenrat
Based on the box art/render and the online instruction sheet it appears to be the rest of the spine starting to coil up. Thats just my take on it, I have not seen these models in physical form yet.
Trax
Haven't painted mine yet, but I think it's just some pile of gore and sinew etc. (oddly geometrically formed as to balance the model out...). Can't think of anything else. Nicodem's personal mindless zombie's got such a small "base-on-base" as well, but it's clearly dirt in that case which makes no sense at all with the Nephilim. DangerousBeans
It's the spine for the head the young is carrying, and a pile of gore to attach it to the base with. Think of it like a flying stand.
Twg
I didn't like the look of the whole thing and decided to cut off the spine so the head is flat against the base. Makes it much more stable and I don't think you lose anything thematically from the model.
