moxypoo
Since M2E has moved more towards a scheme based VP system, where we have to drop these little guys all over the board, what are they? We know they can be gnawed on by rats, devoured by Steam Arachnids, peed on by Cojo, and moved by the Winds of Fate, so they must be physical objects. Is it as simple as your crew planting a sign, or is it something more ephemeral? I ask, because my group has been talking about making scheme markers for our games instead of just using empty bases. Then, I got the idea of making an individual set for each of my crews (as if I'm not already way behind on painting )! I'd love to hear some thoughts, and especially pictures of what other people have come up with!
Mister Shine
Well, for generic 3d ones Im thinking brick walls with (faction symbol) etched or chalked or bled onto them. For specific ones: Colette - Want to have stage props; trap doors, curtains, two halves of a box sawed in two, that sort of thing Tara - Been making creepy tendrils of smoke and glue for her Collodi - For sure making ads for the puppet show
Guardian
Honestly im not sure how to tackle this question. People tend to use a wide variety of tokens. The biggest problem I see is being able to stand on them. Which is kinda hard if you model the physical markers. I think I will stick to paper ones... moxypoo
Thanks for the responses! @ Mister Shine: Great ideas. For my Tara, I was thinking obsidian Obelisks to simulate her connection to Obliteration (whose prison was made from obsidian, I believe). @ Guardian: Good point. I'll have to think of something to deal with the "standing on them" issue. What do people think they are fluff-wise? Is your master just marking his/her territory in someway? Tuttleboy
I see scheme markers as something different for each crew and each scheme. Markers for plant evidence are incriminating notes, false witnesses, etc. markers for Line in the Sand and Breakthrough are something like a gang tags warning off foes. theJudge
these are my scheme markers that I made for the Viks. I got the idea from another guy in the UK scene. Vik Scheme Markers You cannot stand on them but that has not really come up in the games I have played. I also have generic laser etched ones in case my opponents object. Iron Heel
Back when I played Warmachine, I made scenic 3D wreck markers that I would swap out for card ones when a model walked onto it. I look to do the same for scheme markers.
phetish
I recently decided to use my laser as a force for good and made some Malifaux themed tokens including Scheme Markers... I love the feel of the wood, but I get better detail on the acrylic.
moxypoo
All really cool ideas! Thanks everyone. I really like the idea of the "gang sign" to warn off enemies. I can definitely see that working for some of the mercenaries to mark their territory.
