Cornelious1424
I prefer 45, I feel like you get to bring some toys yet still are challenged to make hard choices. 50 is nice for those players (my self included now) that can only play about 2-3 times a month and want to use all their hard earned toys!! Myth
The designers recommend 50 SS as where the game is most balanced, so that's the default for my group. We'll occasionally play smaller (30-35 SS) if time is at a premium, but that's relatively rare.
Fenton Crack
I have not found that 45 stones does not go noticeably faster than 50. I actually think start to finish, 45 can take a tick longer due to the hard decisions making model an upgrade selection take a bit longer. Often with 50 I can take what I want, then fill in with upgrades and cache. With 40-45. I spend more time staring in indecision.
Kogan Style
My group will only play 50ss, while its nice I'd like to try differing levels - including henchmen only but alas, the bar is set at 50ss as that is considered the new
Wence
Our group has worked its way up to 50SS. Certain lists seem to fare better in smaller games (summoners, those that can manipulate movement, and models/crews that can get a lot of extra actions through combos and triggers), but I agree with the book suggestion that the game seems much more balanced overall at the 50SS size. Many of the strategies and schemes have a lot more depth when there's more than just a handful of models running around.
SpiralngCadavr
40, but still pretty new to this edition, hoping to move up soon.
Stoupe
50. 35 for learning and fast games.
Seregon
40-45 usually, sometimes lower. We found 35 a bit too large back in 1.5, and it's the same now with 50.
TranquilitiesEnd
The answer is always 42. If someone ask "how much points do you want to play", of course the answer is "42". For every game. In Malifaux this even works!

Zephir
40-45 for our group. We find anything in the 30s too small, and 50 too big
