  1. I knew this "brewmaster release date' was a lie!
  2. 40-45 for our group. We find anything in the 30s too small, and 50 too big
  3. What are people using for Ikiryo now that she is on a 50mm base? I was thinking of just using A-Kirai, maybe even pop the passed out Kirai off the base.
  4. TIME STAMPED 25 minutes in - "Rilfemen aren't very good" 46 minutes in - "This is the first time i've used them.... HOLY COW!" 54 Minutes in - "These guys are really good"
  5. Welcome to Malifaux! We have a decent group of guys who play Malifaux on Tuesday evenings at Huzzah Hobbies. If you get a free night come one out and we can hook you up with a Demo if you need one, or just play games if your already into the rules.
  6. Hi, We have a decent sized group that plays at Huzzah on Tuesdays. Look for the Henchmen Brian. He should be running a tournament of some kind in the next couple weeks
  7. We'll talk about it in lounge talk. Im gonna rip on the loser I beat up in round 2
  8. With Kirai I usually also take a Canine and do the Gaki trick with Datsue two times. turns 4 soulstones into 10 with no real loss of speed becasue Kirai just puts her minions where ever she wants them. When I play Kirai I actually have a Base Crew, that I always take. Everything else is just gravy on top of it. Kirai Lost Love 3 Seishin Canine Desperate Merc Datsue Ba Insideous Madness Kirai can out activate pretty much anyone in the game. Its tough to beat 5-6 models just passing their activations turns 1 and 2 while you wait for you opponent to finish up so you can drop Ikiryo and Shikome on them.
  9. Engage Nino and Santiago. Use any speed you have to get those two in Melee. They dont have Gunfighter. They are also the top targets for you to kill. Once they are dead the crew loses quite a bit of hitting power.
  10. I like your set of Models. though I agree with some of the others that Crookedmen and Drowned will really help you, the models you have here will be great. First off I pretty much always attach the Avatar to Seamus. Making him go from Shooter to hitter is a nasty swap, and he is really strong all around once Manifested. And when you decide to take the Avatar you pretty much need a full cache, so set aside 2 stones for the Avatar, and 6 for the cache. (7 is ok, but try not to go lower) Now the Crew. First thing I always want is a Hitter. A-Seamus is a monster in Melee but I always try and drop my opponents best hitter before Seamus pops so he has less competition. From your set I would take Either Bette or a Hanged. A Hanged with a Grave Spirit is really tough, so I might try that Combo out. Either way, set out another 9 Stones. Next is Seamus Gal's I would grab 2 Rotten Belles, they are tough, fast when he's around. And great for board control. That right there is 25 Stones. Seamus, Avatar, Grave Spirit, Hanged, 2 Belles. For 30 I would just add in an Onryo. They can help remove peoples WP immunities which is nice with this list and they are decent offensively. I strongly recomend getting a set of Crooked men for your next purchase. They can fill a lot of roles for ressers. And are criminally cheap. Outside of that I would look into a new hitter too. My personal favorite is the Dead Rider, but I think Izamu once released will be rather awesome too So a few other points to make. #1 He does no need Von Schill. No resser master does. They stand alone perfectly. Seamus pre-manifest is not a melee guy. He's a shooter and has the best gun in the game. Post Manifest he is a Melee master. But isn't a dedicated Melee Guy like Lady J and the Vicks. He has control aspects to go along with his Melee. Use your Belles to Drag models into Seamus' pistol range and focus shots at them. Being able to cheat in that 7 damage severe is huge.
  11. Here are some blindingly amazing Nicodem Ideas. http://tehmongoose.blogspot.com/2012/06/nicodem-tactica.html Its my advice on Nico. Not everyone would agree with everything I said, but 5 more months of playing him haven't really changed my mind on anything I wrote
  12. Im pretty sure all 4 of the Ancestors are strong choices for any Resser master. The ashigaru could also be a solid add to Seamus. The Best news of all is that Yin is special forces so Molly gets a shiny new friend to play with, one who comes with Anathema.
  13. Weight of Ages is his best ability. That damage output can get scary fast. There is no icon on it, so blast it into Melee. And holy cow Melee master!! 5ap on this guy once he gets going. Charge for a (1), attack 2 more times and then start busting out the Weight of Ages. The Chi paths are gonna be a lot of fun for him. Do I want to be a full on caster and get Riggor Mortis? or do I want to get Def 7 and go charge into Melee and bust up some fools. So... when does he release?
  14. I got my copy at Gen Con and my friends and I have played about a half dozen games. The biggest problem we find is the game either ends with the Pacifier or drags on endlessly, with nearly no other end. Are others having this problem?
  15. Ashigaru are the cheap guys . More later I'm going back to the con
  16. Some pics from the new storm of shadows. Toshiro a new unique undead and ashigaru a new cheap minion. Both look sweet. Pics up at http://tehmongoose.blogspot.com/?m=1
  17. An thread and blog with brilliant Nicodem advice - http://www.wyrd-games.net/showthread.php?32573-A-Nicodem-Tactica-The-Nicodem-Tactica
  18. I ran mine with Marcus over the weekend 1 time against Gremlins she was amazing. Killed 3 Bayou's in 1 round, and then nearly got Ophelia too. Got mine painted too. But she seems to completely replace the Cerberus
  19. Seamus was the reason I got into Malifaux and he's still my most played and favorite. The Avatar helped a bit.
  20. No it has to hit for this go off. Riptide is worth cheating the 9+ in to cast it though. I love taking 2 of them with both Seamus and Kirai. Nico needs corpses too much to run spirits. I would likely also take them with McM, but haven't yet. Im not kidding when I say stop reading their card. Its really underwhelming to read their rules. Just know that Drive by Purpose, Riptide, and their 4" expolosion are amazing. You can ping a lot of your opponents crew with a single drowned, 2 is even better. The big things to remember are that you have to run them up front of your crew, you don't care if they die, and always keep moving them closer and closer to the bulk of your opponents crew. They dont work well defending a flank or taking out a single target, their job is to soften up a whole bunch of Models so your other stuff can clean them up.
  21. If the Team Marcus is still a thing I'd love to jump in, I'll grab 24 assuming its still free.
  22. Missing Piece for the guy on the right is on the Forum background above the Executuioner.
  23. I use it a single target Assassin. It usually rolls in first, kills off a hard or annoying target and then bites it. Actually its similar to how I use Bette, but better at knocking models out then Bette is and less survivable.
  24. Well Clearly I would have won the whole thing has I played Nico =) As for the Watcher, I usually just track them down and kill them before Seamus Manifests. His gun kills them on Min damage. and there are enough decently fast models to track it down. I don't know, its never really been an issue for me i guess. Also Seamus has a lot more tactics then just be terrifying once manifested. He is still a heavy hitter with Arm 2 and by spamming with Bellowing of the Big Bastard with Gorgon's Miasma he can make a guild crew run for the hills.
