Can the rats survive assuming that the models are in a square all in btb w/ the Ratcatcher as one end, and rasputina on the other end. 0 The Godlyness Posted July 16, 2012 Report Share Posted July 16, 2012 You as the attacker gets to choose what's dies first so she kills a rat, rat explodes deals 2dg to rat catcher summons a new rat if there was another rat in the pulse 2 it would shatter and deal 2dg to the rat catcher and the newly summoned rat. Which then explodes till the rat catcher dies and all the rat exploded. Now if hamlin or another rat catcher is around its an infinitely loop and you win the strategy slaughter. 0 bashamer Posted July 16, 2012 Author Report Share Posted July 16, 2012 yeah it is kinda weird; I guess the rat player can order the effects as all effects are generated by models that he ownes; but the simultanious is weird as you place during damage. but as for slaughter; you get to kill 1 rat. Oops, I keep thinking from a casual gamer's perspective. Yeah, in a tournament, you'd have to ask the TO. Because the rules do not currently contain an answer to this. 0 VBGames Posted July 18, 2012 Report Share Posted July 18, 2012 We ran into a similar situation during a friendly game and decided that the rats exploded simultaneously, killed the rat catcher and no rats were replaced. 0 marshimartian Posted July 22, 2012 Report Share Posted July 22, 2012 Don't forget: I believe Ratcatcher is vermin, so he heals every time a rat dies as well, and depending on timing would negate the Shatter damage, which also means the rats could potentially die/respawn infinitely. 0 Omenbringer Posted July 22, 2012 Report Share Posted July 22, 2012 (edited) Definately in need of an official clarification as Infinite Loops are something the company has worked diligently to counter. Remember though that all the models affected by the initial Shatter are damaged simultaneously so the newly summoned rats wouldn't necessarily be affected by it (since they appear after all the models affected by the Shatter have sustained damage and been removed) unless they are summoned with in subsequent Shatter 's (from other Rats being hit with the Initial or Subsequent Shatter 's). Also Marshmartian is correct that the Rat Catcher could still be healing each time a Rat dies (if with in 3" of him) and if enough are within range of him also be benefitting from Armor as well reducing that damage down to 1 from each Shatter.
