Stonedog-7
Came up last night with Sue in a Viks crew handing out the +2WP in Opposed Duels buff vs Pandora and just needed some clarification... Obviously Pacify/Incite and Gamble Your Life and abilities like that are opposed, but how about spell resists?
0 von Clausewitz
What sketch said. RM pg 53 makes it clear that they are simple duels. Edited April 2, 2012 by von Clausewitz
0 magicpockets
Anything that isn't a WP->13 style duel really
0 Stonedog-7
Is there a reference to that anywhere? I know it makes a certain amount of sense but between "Opposed Duels" on pg 28 and Spell Resists around pg 50-54 in the rules manual it didn't seem like they were... in the end it didn't make much difference but in future games it certainly could
0 WEiRD sKeTCH
Resist Duels are Simple Duels not Opposed Duels.
0 Cunning
Edit: Is the resisitng model still counted as a defender? I didn't think simple duels had attackers or defenders? Edited April 2, 2012 by CunningStunt
0 WEiRD sKeTCH
Please refer to page 53 of the Rules Manual in which it states that Resist Duels are simple Duels and also refer to page 53 of the Rules Manual where it states that the resisting model has to exceed the casting number. The target of a Spell is still considered to be a defender. Thus Immune to Influence still applies.
0 Cunning
Cool. I just read the manual hence my hasty retraction. Couldn't see anything about being the defender or not though. Cheers

So Stubborn works with resist duels since the model is still considered a defender for the simple duel? Just wondering since it doesn't work for simple duels like Terror. 0 Ratty
There is no Defender in a Terror check. You need there to be an Attacker (IE. Someone making an Attack) for there to be a Defender.
