Greetings from far far away

Hello,

I'm a 27 years young husband, father of two daughters and more or less mediocre painter who's been playing wargames for nearly 12 years, living in Luxemburg.

After playing WFB and 40k and still playing Dystopian Wars I looked on the world wide web for a skirmish tabletop game and was fascinated when reading the background story of Malifaux.

Due to the fact that the miniatures 1st look fantastic and 2nd aren't very expensive I decided to start with the game (unfrtunately I still ow no miniatures, but tomorrow I'll first buy the rulebook and check out the forum for some painting tutorials to increase my painting skills).

Greetings from the cold Luxemburg ( -16°C today -.-);

Christian

Well hello there, in luxemburg :)

Glad to have you aboard!!! So what miniatures have caught your eye? Any of the starter sets and what's your playstyle....I'm sure you'll find a crew to your tastes.

There are many, many great painters here but remember just one forum won't give you all you need to know about painting...although this one will give you a hell of a lot of advice.

I really like Nicodem's Crew, but the Cult of December also caught my eye... As I already told I'll go to my local gamestore (we only have one in Luxemburg, small country :-), but usually I buy my minis online on firestormgames) and take the rulebook, I think after that it's easyer to choose a Crew. Maybe i'll also swith to the Guild... Questions about questions :-)

I agree, I'm reading some posts in the forum and am overwhelmed about the minis in some posts. Respect! Unfortunately I don't know if I have the necessary patience to paint similar minis, so I'll try to find a middleway of minis in the forum and speedpainting. Fortunatly the minis are (if I'm right) all in metal, so I can remove the paint ^^

Normally I look for new techniques on necrotales and brushthrall, And of course in this forum *cyclops*

Welcome to Malifaux! The Guild is a very good choice, if I do say so myself. In all honesty, they are easy to learn, and a good jumping off point. BUt you should pick models that interest you.

psh, two centimeters??? We have to get two FEET of snow before they'll shut Maine down.... *shakes head* although, in the South and West it doesn't take very much to grind everything to a stand still... And it's pretty cold here... it's 18 degrees Fahrenheit here right now... before you factor in Windchill...

Anywho, back on topic: Welcome to the forums Averlorn!! If you have questions, feel free to ask. Only a few of us bite (mind the bear) and the Gremlins smell funny... but they have some good ideas ;)

Thanks for the welcome^^

Unfortunately they told me today in my local store that they don't sell Malifaux -.- Doesn't matter. Ordered it today online :-)

@The one: To be honest I haven't thought of playing the Guild yet. There are so many fractions with so many beautiful models... won't be an easy choice I think^^ But thank you for the advice!
