McMourning theory

OK so I dont play Mcmourning but I've always thought about getting him in the near future since I have almost all the models for ressurs. For me though I wouldn't want him to sit back and summon. I want him up in the shizznit fighting it out.

What would be good to bring along to back him up and support him? I think molly could be a great help crowd controlling while he dukes it out but what other possibilities would help him as he slings scalpels?

Still not sold on belles with mcmourning. Played in a tourney recently and only really got much use out of the belles I took in 1 out of 4 games. If you want Doug in the action fast a dead rider to drag him into combat is great, and Von Schill for his morale buff since Doug's poor willpower can cause him troubles if he gets stuck into a terrifying crew.

Mortimer!!! Best addition to any Res crew. His ability to pull in a corpse counter gives McMourning 2 body parts counters. Very useful. I use McM all the time. I have a 13 and 1 record with him, and my 1 loss came in a game against Pandora who I had never played then. I use him to summon on turn 2, then I rush him in as a melle beast. Cause that's what he does. I always activate him mid turn so he can heal all the damage accrued with a piece for me. I never need help dragging him into battle. That's what scalpel slingin' does. That with loves his work gives him 4 melee attacks in one turn. I usually push a flesh construct in, attack and use a nurse to give him reactivate with massive dose. That softens up the enemy, then scalpel slingin' to pull him into combat, and beat up what's left of my opponents front line. If you need to pull him out, save scalpel slingin' as your last action. Use it on your own guy so you can choose to fail the defense and pull him back out. I also like to use K9 remains. They are cheap and have the ability to reek havoc if left unchecked, thereby keeping your opponent from being able to focus on McM! And of course Sebastion, since he can generate body parts counters himself and summon in more K9 remains.

I agree with a lot of this... but for the fact that McM is saced at the end of the turn after the nurse reactivates him. Are you effectively waiting for that perfect turn to cash in your queen? Interesting prospect...

Sorry I wasn't clear, I meant use the nurse to give the flesh construct reactivate. Id never use that on McM.

As for the crow competition, I use Morty to get in the corpse counter which only requires a low crow to cheat the flip if not flipped naturally. By bring that in, I can save SS, and still give McM body parts counters before battle. Once battle begins, McM produces them on his own easy enough. Fresh meat is awesome, but k9 remains seem to move fast enough on their own( specific objectives and schemes aside) and flesh constructs get 3 moves if you discard a low control card. Point being, I rarely use him for his movement buff.

I own nicodem, don't play him that much, but with nico, he is awesome for fresh meat alone. With Nico, I always use fresh meat to get my troops in the battle. I find it necessary to press the battle forward, and try to keep Nico back to summon. Nico is probably my least favorite ressie, just because of play style. I really prefer McM, because I can throw him in the thick of it. I find Nico requires more subtlety. But that's me.
