Ozz
I am going to play a first game with Nicodem at the weekend i think, and i am wondering what works with Nicodem when i am unable to get corps counters from my opponent? So summoning tricks are limited to my own models generating counters Any tips are appreciated:)
osoi
Go for more of a 'brick' type crew. Models that can can really benefit from bolster Undead, plus look for ways to strip either armour and/or immune to influence (an Onryo works a charm ) You will be handing out Rigor and Bolster a lot more which isnt neccesirily a bad thing. A few Canines will still come in handy to push the activation advantage and upgrade into better minions too.
poulpox
Vs Hoffman I would try Necrotic machine with some Mercs: Ronins, or Taelor, Johan, once boosted with Bolster, their stats get rather good and go through armour. Bring Mortimer to have a few extra counters (there's also Morti-Squidpiddge-Necro Machine combo for extra Exhume power?)
Ozz
Current list im planning is: 2 Punk Zombies Morti 2/3 Canine Remains or maybe a totem, but of the two i ordered i cant see ether of them being especially useful this game, The vulture or Grave spirit. 25 stone game depends how many stones i go for. Playing a Brawl with Seamus who is taking: Punk Zombie 2 Belles 2 Crooked men Copy cat Killer Or at least they are the current plans until we know what we have to do there:)
AdrianMills
Grave spirit is fantastic with Nicodem as you can link it to him for the armour or attach it to the punk zombie. I have found in the past that the vulture is a bit so so but ok for an xtra corpse counter as long as you son't get it too far ahead. Ozz
Im glad you said that Adrian:P I had for some reason got it into my head that i could not connect the grave spirit to Nico, no idea why:)
Sevorin
A good tactic for the grave spirit is connect, then focus cast an extension (I also usually companion him). Im also a big fan of using belles in his list throwing out slows and lures. Crooked men proved sweet as well if you save a crow for that paralyze trigger. Using Nico is all about using bolster undead and recycling your stuff. If your opponent drops corpse counters, well that's just bonus. I don't usually brick my group like many here say, but I usually keep them all within 10" of him. That's a pretty big bubble on a 3x3 board. And do not forget paralyzes. Well placed paralyzes are amazing and devastating to your opponent. Sometimes I use it just to make my opponent burn cards. rancor709
Rigor Mortis is Nico's best actual spell even above raising. Being able to paralzye a model is vital to sucess with him. Raising by replenishment of loses and morty I tend to find work best as a majority of crews don't or are built specifically to not drop corspe counters. Bolster is an amazing 0 action that turns resser models into pure gold. Combined with the ability to heal your stuff while harming your opponent with his decay. Most of his abilities are 10" so use that to your advantage and move the bubble towards the center. If Nico and his shambling horde can control the center by the middle of the game you have a firm chance of winning. As Centrally located nico's bubble is dominating the battle and likely paralzying anything that could cause trouble for your bolster minions. Nico takes time to understand, the more you understand how your individual minions work in terms of what they accel at and what they are weak at the better nico player you will become. As he can provided he gets the cards, be raising that specialist when its needed.
Dustcrusher
And do not forget paralyzes. Well placed paralyzes are amazing and devastating to your opponent. Sometimes I use it just to make my opponent burn cards. Good advice all around, but this is especially true. I once punished an overly aggressive Colette with a well-timed paralysis and it was one of two things that won me the game.
Ozz
Thanks for the Help guys If im following this right though, there should be little to no difference in my crew builds for vs machines/non counter dropping models as when i play a living /UD crew, and just take or two sacrificial models for early objective grabbing roles then later on provide a counter for something useful at the time, such as necro punks, and one or two canines for irritation purposes/counters would this be correct? And thanks again for the help
