Silent One's North Wind with melee spells

I know that North Wind specifically states 'spells'. Spell casting also states that spells with in their range count as melee attacks and follow the same procedures/restrictions.

So, my question is;

Do spells with in their range still benefit from the +3" buff?

I assume yes, but I'm getting ready to start running her and I want to be sure......I also thought it would give the +3 to Ice Mirror but I found that I was wrong about that so I'm just being safe.

A 5" Devour seems pretty nasty. Or a 5" December's Maw off of :arasputina.....mwuahahaha

Don't see any reason why it wouldn't. It has a Rg stat, it's a spell, and there's no other restriction against it.
