Seamus list with avatar and molly

I was just asking if anyone has any good seamus lists whick include both his avatar and molly as well as possibly a rogue necromancy and is around the 45ss-50ss mark? also keeping to the classic seamus feel i.e belles

I'd say this is a solid 40 SS list:

Seamus + 3 SS

+ Avatar 2

Molly 9

2 x Belle 8

2 x Crooked Man or Crooligan 8

Sybelle 6

Copycat Killer 2

Necrotic Machine 2

If you want to go for 50 SS add Rogue Necromancy.

wow thanks, looks like a good list, very classical seamus style but also seems like it would work well, when models come out will see who works better crooked men or crooligans

Crooked men and Crooligans are sort of on different ends of the spectrum. Crooked men provide board control and shafts people together with belles, while crooligans run around stealing candy. Or lighting dynamites. Or grabbing treasures. So it sort of depends on your strategy whom'd be the better one.

Huummmm... i have not actually got the 3 book just i know that the avatar seamus costs 2 ss and is beast, what about dead doxies? could you maybe drop the two crooligans/crooked men for one of them and a bigger pool?

or would this just be foolish?

Dead Doxy's are better summond in game as they cost more to hire and you can place them where they'll be more effective (to a degree...).

I'd lose the copycat killer and swap for the Gravespirit which you can link to Sybelle (or Molly...). It gives her a much needed boost in defense v's ranged. Besides you're gonna lose Seamus's totem when he manifests...

Thanks for the info on dead doxies, but is it only molly who can summon them? I've already got the CK and planning on getting the grave spirit so i'll try it both ways

Seamus can summon them also (it's in the Dead Doxy rules).

They'll be getting their own blister by the looks of things.

I'd only bring one totem to the list and give Seamus more SS in his pool.

Keep the Necrotic Machine I think. You could go for the Grave Spirit if you really needed the mitigation on a model, but the ability to potentially cast the philosophy of uncertainty through him is really golden. Either way attach whatever totem you bring to Molly so that when Seamus goes Avatar you don't lose it.

I'm personally hoping that Dead Doxies will be fairly early on the book 3 schedule, I think it likely as Molly should be soon and I would be surprised if Molly, The Dead Doxies and aSeamus didn't turn up very close to each other.

Keep either the Grave Spirit or the Necrotic Machine, whichever suits your playstyle best. I'm a big fan of the Grave Spirit since he's super cheap and he's always useful. Even if he gets killed by a blast early in the game, at least you know who is likely to to be targeted.

Has anyone ever considered using molly as a master on her own?

I'm going to try it eventually, but you are going to hit the same wall that Seamus crews had, plus a little bit extra.

As it stands you can chose, with a little creative eye squinting, to see Molly as a sort of inferior version of Seamus. She offers some movement synergy with her minions of choice (Belles and Horrors) but less then Seamus as her movement ability is an Aura.

She has the ability to become a somewhat effective Terror Bomb, but she needs to take actions to achieve this, and she needs to be up close, where I personally don't like her to be.

She has no real offensive weapons, and all her spells (Except for the one she can copy) are Wp based, so Immune to influence models really make her have a bad day.

Add to that her crew selection abilities as a Master are VERY limited. A crew lead by molly can take:

A necrotic machine or a Grave Spirit.

A Rogue Necromancy

Crooligan's

Rotten Belles

Madam Sybelle

and up to 2 Dead Doxies

That's it. That's all she can bring along, and most of it doesn't directly synergize among themselves like the most competitive crews can. Also the Speed that her crew can maneuver at is far less than a non combat crew can realistically expect it should be. The only combat punch at all comes from the Rogue Necro, who as the sole hammer in your crew, will receive all the concentrated fire that can be directed at it, and with no abilities to really protect it or heal it, will die very swiftly in many games. Once her crew's only real dmg threat it pulled it will begin to look very bad for Molly very soon.

I will be trying her, but I think until Wyrd actually shows what they have in mind for Horrors, and actually releases more than 2 horror minion choices, Molly will still end up being a tagalong rather than a master in her own right.
