Origins in Columbus OH

The problem is that at this time I don't think the area(the midwestish) can support two large tournaments within a month of each other.

Back in the day Origins and Gencon fit different molds. Origins was the con for playing. You went and played in the games, demoed stuff that wasn't out yet and such. Gencon was the place everyone released those games and was really the shopping con.

But things changed, companies started to have to choose the con they went to and since Gencon was the place people shoped, it was the place game companies made the money. So Origins started to get left out.
