Lussuria
Exactly, MasterShine. Exactly! Time to paint something and watch Kitchen Nightmares repeats*. Oh Ramsay *scoff scoff*. You 'ol softy you. *It is acceptable and understandable to think less of me as a person after reading this. I feel like less of a person for having said it. Lussuria
Just googled it. Welcome into my life Cutthroat Kitchen. I can see we're going to get along famously. ---------- Post added at 01:29 AM ---------- Previous post was at 01:15 AM ---------- Ok, we're going to get along famously RIGHT AFTER Ramsay reinvents this Australian's meat pie recipe. Something I have noticed on American cookings shows is they often seem...less familiar with individual pastry meat pies than we are. Is this not a corner shop staple in other countries? Mister Shine
No, meat pies are a frozen food item in Canada, I think even less known in the states. Its just not really a thing here. Our corner store staples (judging from 711s and indie ones) are hotdogs, nachos and Jamaican Patties.
Lussuria
NACHOS? And what is a Jamaican patty???? O.O
Mister Shine
Well tortilla chips and.... they call it cheese, but Ive seen cheese. Cheese isnt that colour. Another meat in pastry type item.
hypoking
Damn. Now I want a pasty, and living in America that means I'm going to have to make them myself... Edit: I would kill a small child and a sack full of kittens if someone would build a Cornish Bakehouse in driving distance of my house. Mister Shine
Like I said we ONLY have the jamaican ones. They are everywhere, but always that same yellow pastry with "meat" in them. Never a named meat...
hypoking
I swear to god, its the only edible foodstuff the British ever managed to come up with and they hoard them to themselves. As if colonial oppression wasn't enough of an indignity! I want my god damn pasties!.

Mako
Sigh... I miss pie. And pasties. And decent fish and chips. And a proper roast dinner, with Yorkshire pudding. Oh, and toad in the hole, bread and butter pudding...
Mister Shine
Would you like an apology soaked in maple syrup?
bowchikawowers
I've never had any of these things you guys are talking about. And they sound strange... Though I'm open minded enough to give them a shot, or would be if I could find a place that serves/makes/sells them here in the states.
Lussuria
No. But I will accept bacon soaked in maple syrup.
Mako
Everything here is soaked in maple syrup. They even do cheese (they call it cheddar, but it isn't) with it in (which proved that I was wrong when I said 'everything tastes better with maple syrup'. It was vile, lol)

Mister Shine
We call the non cheddar cheddar to confuse foreigners. I assume americans are doing the same thing with american cheese
