edonil
They sound interesting from the title alone, I'll give them that.
SteamHammer
Definitely give the Iron Jackal a go. I'll let you know about the other one in a week or so.
edonil
We'll see when I have time again, honestly. I'm looking at 200 or so pages a week of reading for classes this term, lol.
SteamHammer
I have way too many books at the moment as my new Joe Abercrombie arrived too.
edonil
Joe Abercrombie? o.O By the by, ever read the Discworld books? Any good?
SteamHammer
Yes and no. They have some great moments in but I'm not totally thrilled by them. I really didn't like the earlier ones. Perhaps try Guards, Guards! or some of the ones release just after that.
Absolution Black
I am a big discworld fan but I will agree with Steam that although the earlier books have some laugh out loud moments, they are a bit lacking in character and story elements! However I would recommend picking up at least Mort and Wyrd sisters. Then definitely carry on from Guards Guards! onwards.....but be warned there are a lot...I mean a lot...*looks at his shelves* A lot. Guards Guards was the first Terry Pratchett novel i read.. osoi
As am I, tourney tomorrow! I will also reccommend Guards! Guards! I pretty well end up reading anything with the Watch in it as I find they are some of Pratchetts best characters as a group
Mako
Yeah, the watch ones are the best. Mort and the deth trilogy is pretty funny too. I read the rincewind ones when I was about 12 or so, they were really funny then but they aren't my favourites. Sme of the newer stuff has been so much sharper, wittier and cleverer. Problem I have right now is deciding what to paint! I have a small list of stuff that's ready to paint or part done, but choosing what on it to do is tricky

edonil
Eh, sorta. Could've wished for it to be a little less broken, but oh well, no damage done. Going through the Iron Quill entries tonight before I head into work or start on the next scene of the novel. How're you?
Mako
Not too bad, at least the headache I had this morning has gone. Now just doing some repairs to Kirai's paintwork, then will pick something else to work on for a bit. Still having trouble deciding though! How many quill entries do we have this time? edonil
We've got seven right now. Another four days before entries close. ---------- Post added at 08:00 PM ---------- Previous post was at 07:51 PM ---------- What happened to Kirai's paint scheme? Hard to repair? I always liked that paintjob.
Mister Shine
Placed a light, patched it, moved it across the studio, patched it three more times, light wasnt strong enough, took it down. That's my life tonight :/

I always liked that paintjob. I'd best get reading soon then, or I'll have a large pile to deal with! She took a tumble and got chipped, I needed to redo a bit of her hair and scarf. Done now though so I'm happy about that. Been trying to work on Cassandra as she's close to done, but can't seem to get into the feel of it. Might go sculpt instead, save painting for daylight. How long you got til work?
edonil
Oh, about another hour. (yawn) Not that I'm really all that awake.
Mako
Heh, can't you try to get halfway through the shift without waking up fully? I've hit a bit of a snag with my bases for my showgirls, had to partly disassemble them. Stupid mirrored tiles, I should have known they would be a pain!
