Slow to Die

Ruthless

Ignorant: This character is immune to all Wp duel effects

Attract: Any enemy character in LoS must make a Wp 16 flip that can be cheated or must move towards Roulette. Characters that ignore LoS are not affected until not blocked by terrain objects.

Precision: Ignore ARMOR, Hard to Wound and Hard to Kill abilities when attacking.

Weapon, .50 Flintlock: May only be used once per turn.

+1 Casting Expert

Actions:

(+1) Slow

(0) No Escape: Target a model within 6". This model may immediately CHARGE target if target moves or is forced to move. No Escape ends when this model Charges this turn or at the start of the Closing Phase.

(0) Rush'in Roulette: If Roulette is in play and one or more Masters are also in play; the first time a Black Joker has been flipped for any Attack, controlling player or opposing player, Roulette's or another characters Attack, remove your Master from the game. The first time a Red Joker has been flipped for an Attack, Roulette's or another character's Attack, remove your opponents Master from the game. In either case Roulette replaces that Master and becomes that players Master until eliminated from play. Characters that have the ability to come back into play lose that effect and can not. They are removed from the game. This ability does not cause Strategy on Scheme VP involving a Master being killed. Roulette immediately receives Reactivate

Reactivate: Roulette has received the Master title and immediately takes the position of the replaced Master and may make any and all actions available to her.

Spells:

(0) Seductive: (CC:11 (sword)/ Rst:-/ Rg: C) This model receives one of the following effects until the Start Closing Phase.

Amour: Charge moves targeting Roulette end 3" away.

Misdirection: Until Roulette moves, it receives hard cover when targeted by ranged attacks.

The Loop: Anytime an attack misses Roulette, that attacker suffers 1 Wd and ends all it's actions for this turn. This attacker in turn falls back but does not move double its Wk in doing so. It remains where it is and automatically rallies at the Start Closing Phase.

(1) Lure: (CC:14 (gray sword)(sword)/Rst:Wp / Rg: 18 ) Push target model its Wk towards this model. If the push ends with the target in this model's melee range it makes a melee attack against the target.

(2) Broken Heart: Discard all your control cards and remove Roulette from the play. Look at the top 5 cards of your opponents Fate deck, show them to all and place the lowest value card on top face value up and the remaining 4 in the discard pile. You receive VP for the value if the card revealed.

If a Red Joker is revealed during this process Roulette returns to play, you receive 1 VP and ends her activation.

If a Black Joker is revealed during this process, Roulette is removed from the game and your opponent receives VP the value of the card revealed. If Roulette was a Master at this time any VP for Strategy or Schemes involving a Master are fulfilled.

So too outlandish? Tweakable?

Toss out with the garbage?

I like the idea of a "roulette" mechanic, but its far too powerful as written... Maybe it should be more along the lines of:

(2) Rush'in Roulette: (CC: 14 :crows / Rst: -/ Rg: :pulse 3) Flip a fate card for every model within 3 inches, including this model. The model with the highest card takes damage 2/4/6, depending on the card they flipped. (A model which flipped a 9 would receive moderate damage, etc...) This flip cannot be cheated.

Still powerful, but has much more of a "random damage" feel to it.

Just my 2 cents...

You can't post a new character without at least a little bit of fluff on the character's relevance in Malifaux!

Ok ok Fluff:

I'll have to get back to you on that.

Basic idea was a character available to all factions because she is a hired gun, The Lone Assassin. Assuming the identity of even the most powerful once she has eliminated their power.

So beautiful even the Undead can not resist her. The unknowing are drawn by the sight of her mystery. Creatures feel a need to be near her aura.

Yet she is haunted by her own vanity a Broken Heart that constantly pulls at her ill begotten deeds

As for Broken Heart. Powerful sure but each player has access to her and the randomness of the Jokers is rare enough not to cause issues other then Masters that stack the deck. Plus it is a way to remove the opponents Roulette should each of you have one.

First, add a soulstone cost for the model. Though it doesn't cause serious damage by itself, it is by no means worth 0 SS (1 SS for non-outcasts). Attract seems to be a bit too powerful, even most masters will have to cheat to pass that. It's also a bit vague on do they have to use all their actions moving towards Roulette or is it just a test before activation and how much they have to move. Attraction should at least have a maximum range of 6-12", depending on the models cost.

Rush'n'Roulette is too powerful and not as random as you might think. I don't know if you have played any games yet but it's bound to happen often, depending on against what master you are playing and also how big your forces are. A match with Pandora can go through the deck quite quickly. In addition Roulette's survival skills are non-existant as she can't move and she dies when somebody looks at her. Rush'n'Roulette pretty much equals a dead master for either crew and there's pretty much nothing you or your opponent can do about it (except for not activating the ability before black joker is gone, which makes it even more abusable). The point of this game is usually that you can prepare for things like this and you lose because you screw up. Not because someone brought a 0SS model to the game.

Also Broken Heart with a Black Joker equals zero points for the opponent as the Black Joker is the lowest valued card in the deck. Anyways, you might easily gain 3-7 VP with a freakin' zero cost model just by using an action a few times. Especially if you are holding both Jokers in hand which happens sometimes. Lure should be CC: 12 :crows:masks, there's no suit called swords. Same spells have the same casting cost for all models.

And yes, she's available to both players but it's a bit pointless to have a model that people will always take, just in case the opponent also took her and it might screw your game. And even if you manage to take out your opponents Roulette, she can still screw your game by herself.

But, there's no need for me to face her anyway, so as long as your opponent is okay with it, you're free to say that Roulette wins you the game if you flip a card bigger that three.

For a single model she'd have far too much influence on every single game you play. Taking her is pretty much the equivalent of saying "okay, flip a coin - on heads, I kill your master, tails you kill mine". What's worse, it effectively requires no skill to use - just stick her on the table and wait to see who's master gets killed. In my opinion, it would suck alot of the fun out of the game.

Broken heart seems ridiculously powerful to me - in a game where 8 VPs (one strategy and two schemes) is a massive win, getting free VPs from broken heart is just brutal.

As for theme, it needs alot of tightening. Right now she seems to be a mix of rotten belle and gun-fighter, with a grab bag of elements you'd normally expect to see from a hand-to-hand fighter (the high Cb) or spell caster (casting expert), all piled onto a model that is exceptionally slow and fragile. And that's ignoring Broken heart/rush'in roulette.

If you're aiming for some kind of undead assassin then I suggest you focus on that, but avoid any extreme or game-changing abilities.
