Nathan Caroland
I'm a sucker for riddles, even if I suck at them and find them to be a great way to tease the brain to to get people thinking. So, I present a riddle to see if anyone can guess it, and welcome others to do so as well! - What gets wet when drying? - What odd number becomes even when beheaded? supervike
the first one baffles me... My guess at the second would be 9.... I'm awful at them too...but there is something enjoyable about them!!
Duende
- What gets wet when drying? A Towel Still thinking about #
Ritual
@Michelle That cat drives me crazy!! :ahhhhh:
supervike
AH! Yes a towel makes sense.... I chose 9 for the other because if you draw a 9 on a piece of paper (with a straight tail) and the balloon part gets lopped off and falls next to it...then it looks like a 10.....Does that make any sort of sense? Ritual
But if it falls in the other direction it becomes 01 which is odd.
Duende
@Michelle That cat drives me crazy!! :ahhhhh: Blame Nathan. It's one of the Wyrd avatars. I'll probably only keep it a little while. I like animanted avatars but I'll probably look for something that fits me better.
callumrice
Stick with the cat Duende, its cool! Heres to the new avatar party!! Woohoo!
Nathan Caroland
First one is a towel, that is correct. Any other thoughts on the other one - I'll give out an answer later (its stupid easy, thus making it hard .. if you know what I mean). vincegamer
9 Because when you stick "be" in front of it - or, head it with be - it becomes "benign" or "even-tempered".
Valloa
The second one is "seven" I think. Maya~
Duende
Gah! I think Maya'a right! Behead "seven" (or remove the first letter) and you have "even"! Good guesswork! The trick to that one is that "seven" and "even" don't rhyme, thus not making an immediate connection in your head when reading the question. D'oh! Gotta love the English language. Nathan Caroland
Heh. Very good Maya! Alright, here is another one. - An island and the letter "t" have something in common. What is it? - Which side of a cow has the most hair?
vincegamer
Both are surrounded by water! Oh, wait. That makes no sense.... As to the second one, it's the outside. I know because I have had my hand on the inside of a cow and while full of nobbly bits, it wasn't actually hairy.
Duende
Both are surrounded by water! Oh, wait. That makes no sense.... Maybe it's that both are in the middle of water.... As to the second one, it's the outside. I know because I have had my hand on the inside of a cow and while full of nobbly bits, it wasn't actually hairy. Eww, I don't want to know.... :eating::thcow2::eating:
Nathan Caroland
And ya'll got them fairly easy. Hrmmm, alright, something different. - I am slim and tall, Many find me desirable and appealing. They touch me and I give a false good feeling. Once I shine in splendor, But only once and then no more. For many I am "to die for". What am I? - This is as light as a feather, yet no man can hold it for long. What is it? - A cowboy rides his horse into town on a Friday and then leaves town TWO days later on Friday. How is that possible?
Maestro
- A cowboy rides his horse into town on a Friday and then leaves town TWO days later on Friday. How is that possible?Who in their right mind would call his horse 'Friday'??? It's nowhere near rugged and manly enough for a cowboy.. The first one is probably about me.. The second one to if you replace 'man' for 'woman'... John
orkydave
would the first one be a cigarette? and would the second be fire?

Nathan Caroland
The horse is called Friday (correct) and the first one is either a cigarette or a cigar, depending on your tastes (correct). Second one is still open and one I thought would get caught well before the cig one to be honest.
Duende
My guess for the second one is a lit match. (Kinda goes along with the cigarette one...) But just a guess... :flaminghe

Nathan Caroland
Ding, ding ... Matty guessed it. What's my number? I am a three digit number. My tens digit is five more than my ones digit. My hundreds digit is eight less than my tens digit. What number am I? What is the longest word in the dictionary? (A clue: The answer is the plural form of the word.) What is black when you buy it, red when you use it, and gray when you throw it away?
