Our painting contests are open to anyone interested in miniature painting, no matter their skill level. To enter, you need to have an account on the Wyrd Miniatures forum. The contest has clear rules: submit a single, self-painted miniature that fits the theme. No previously shown works are allowed, and the submission must be anonymous to keep the competition fair. While there's enough time to work on your entry, deadlines can sneak up on you. Voting is restricted to forum members with at least 10 posts, ensuring that active community members decide the winners. Now, let's get to the fun stuff, the theme for this contest! Painting Contest Details Submit your miniatures anytime, but they'll only be showcased and visible once voting starts. Remember to check our general competition rules before submission. Submissions are open until 11:59 PM Sunday April 7th, 2024. To amend your entry before the deadline, contact @Hobby Wyrd on the Wyrd Forums. Theme: "When it Rains, it Pours" Explore the intensity and aftermath of storms, both literal and metaphorical! This theme invites participants to delve into scenes where the environment, characters, and narratives are heavily influenced by the powerful and often sudden impact of rainstorms, deluges, and their effects on landscapes, settlements, and spirits. Categories: Singles: Focus on a single character or element that embodies the theme, such as a figure braving the storm, an elemental spirit of rain, or a creature born from a deluge. Diorama/Vignette: Craft a story-driven scene that captures a moment of dramatic intensity or the serene aftermath of a heavy downpour, highlighting interactions between figures and their rainy environment. This theme aligns with the transitional period of February/March, reflecting on the literal and figurative storms that lead to renewal and change.
