  5. Welcome to Echoes of the Breach: Fractured Futures, the 2024 global Malifaux campaign! At the bottom of this post, you will find all of the relevant links to play in the campaign, but for now let’s find out what this is all about. The campaign starts today, April 17th, and it will conclude on Friday, May 31st. In this campaign, you and your opponents will help to determine the fate of Nia: a wayward traveler who has had her future fractured as she crossed through the Breach into Malifaux. She does not yet know it, but she will soon be faced with tremendous possibility. Nia’s Fate is intertwined with some of the most powerful figures in Malifaux. The path chosen is up to you. Every Wednesday during the campaign, we will update the campaign landing page so you know which fate Nia is leaning towards: https://www.wyrd-games.net/echoes-of-the-breach This campaign will be decided by the games you play and it will influence every aspect of the game from story to mechanics, so choose your side carefully! Read the first half of Nia’s story here: Fractured Futures Pt. 1 What Is At Stake? There are eight paths Nia may go down, each associated with an existing Keyword. Throughout the campaign, you will be playing games to score points in support of one of those paths. The future that has scored the most points as of the end of the campaign will be declared the winner and it will become reality! The winning Keyword will gain Nia as a playable model and their story will advance as Nia’s Fate intertwines with their own. Since story, theme, and mechanics are all so deeply linked, this will also likely result in updated rules for some models in that Keyword, depending on how that story plays out! The eight Keywords Nia may become a part of are as follows: Honeypot Savage Redchapel Tri-Chi Academic Bandit Marshal Cadmus You can see how Nia appeared when she first came to Breachtown below, but this will not be the final version of her. Nia will receive new art and a new sculpt depending on which Keyword wins and what happens to her! In addition, the final chapter of her story will be released once the campaign is over, and it will reflect the results of the campaign. You may always choose to support any path you like, regardless of the Faction or Keyword you are currently playing! Nia on the Table In case you missed the campaign announcement, here is the art for Nia Campaign games will require a 30mm Nia Marker. You are more than welcome to use any appropriately sized model (or a blank base) to represent this Marker, however, we have taken the additional step of making Nia available for download as an STL for you to print at home! Find the STL on our webstore here: Nia STL You may also print out and cut out a paper 30mm Nia Token here: 30mm Nia Marker If you don’t have a 3D printer, don’t hesitate to look around, many libraries are now equipped with one. Playing a Campaign Game When you play a campaign game, the Nia Marker will start in the center of the board. You and your opponent will each choose a Thread of Fate (abbreviated Thread) which represents the future you want Nia to have. Each Thread has an effect that will make the Nia Marker act in different ways, making every campaign game unique! Strategies and Schemes are still chosen normally. A campaign game adds to a normal game of Malifaux, it does not take anything away! In addition to this, you will choose one of two Objectives associated with your Thread and, if you complete it, you will score 1 VP, as well as 1 point for your chosen Thread in the overall campaign. It does not matter what Crew or Faction you play, you may still choose any Thread. And you may choose a different Thread every game if you wish. This is just scratching the surface, for the full rules, see the campaign document: Global Campaign Document For your convenience, we also created campaign reference cards: Campaign Card Digital Set Campaign Thread Card Print Version Reporting Games When you are done playing your campaign game, submit your results with this Google form: Echoes of the Breach: Fractured Futures Reporting Form On this form, you answer whether you completed your Objective, whether your opponent completed theirs, and who won. If you played in person, you will also be asked for a picture of the game and the game store or club you played at (if any) to potentially earn prize support for your local store. Games played in person will be worth double campaign points, so you will be more likely to determine Nia’s fate if you can get your models out on a table! Only one player per game may fill out this form, so if your opponent fills out a report, you may not. You must submit your form within 24 hours of playing your game. Forms submitted after 11:59pm EST on May 31st will not be counted. Support Your Local Game Stores This campaign also gives your favorite game stores a chance to shine and win big! Simply list the store where you played the campaign game in your report, and they'll be entered into a raffle for extra product support. Plus, if your store is randomly selected, you and your fellow gamers will win the Fate Bound Fate Deck, an exclusive item not for sale and only available through Wyrd events. It's a win-win for everyone! Fate Bound Fate Deck Please note: We will be verifying participation with the stores to ensure fairness and transparency throughout the campaign. Let's rally behind our game stores and strengthen our community across the globe. Store Resources We have some resources for you to download in order to advertise the campaign. If you would like to put some fliers up in your store, you can download them here: Play Here Fliers Summary This is your chance to influence every aspect of the game we all love! 12. Howdy y'all! I've decided this year to try and paint along with every painting competition hosted in 2024! My goal is to put myself under the same constraints as the participants in an act of solidarity with those brush wielders out there. For When it Rains, it Pours I made my first diorama, titled Against the Odds

  14. Hey Wyrdos! This week, Waldo decided to finally stop playing pranks on us. He adores April Fool’s Day, and spends most of his time trying to convince all of us that no, he’s actually a very good imp who deserves many treats for his excellent behavior. Instead of listing all the times Waldo has been mischievous today, let’s take a look at some details and highlights from AdeptiCon 2024, helpfully recorded by our Wyrd volunteers! Thursday started off with four-player Random Rush, with KC taking the overall victory with his Bayou crews. If you’re curious about the details, you can check out the results here: https://malifaux.longshanks.org/event/14470/. The Cupcake Match also took place on Thursday, where players engaged in skirmishes for sweet, succulent, sugary treats. We’re told some lemon buttercream cupcakes were the stars of the show. Waldo won’t be happy we couldn’t nab the recipe… Friday was filled with learn-to-plays and the Masquerade. It was great seeing so many players new and old learning how to cheat Fate and get the best out of their crews! Remember, if you’re looking to get started with Malifaux (or just need a quick refresher), you can get the rules for free right here! M3E Rules If you’re eager to start building crews yourself (and check out the newly-added Ashes of Malifaux models), download the Malifaux 3E app here. https://malifauxcrewbuilder.com/ If you were looking to get stuck in with The Other Side at AdeptiCon, you could do so with Against the Odds. In the first match of this special event the Survivors, led by Kassa Okoye, managed to complete four of their five objectives before Goryshe succumbed to the Endless. However, the next day the Survivors under the command of Prince Unathi just barely eked out a win on the final Turn of the encounter thanks to the timely use of the Capture the Flag Stratagem. Glory to Abyssinia and the King’s Empire! If you’re looking to even the score (or continue forging a path to glory), check out the Allegiances available in our webstore! https://giveusyourmoneypleasethankyou-wyrd.com/collections/the-other-side Splash of Color, a massive guided painting event with 24 people, concluded Friday. Each participant received a box of the new Yaksha models to paint. A heartfelt thanks to our expert painters for sharing their knowledge and leading the painting session. Keep an eye out for this event to return at future conventions! Saturday was the Master’s Tournament, and it was a packed house! After many rounds of scheming, Cole Thomas came in first place with Arcanists, Turner Duncan took second with Neverborn, and Krzysztof Trojanowski was third with the Explorer’s Society. A big shoutout to Ole Stene’s Von Schtook crew for winning Best Painted as well! As usual, if you’re curious about the results, you can see the breakdown here: https://malifaux.longshanks.org/event/14501/ Wrapping up AdeptiCon on Sunday was Bonanza Brawl, a multi-player event where a handful of models fight over Treasure Markers. The special Loot Deck proved to be popular once again as well. If you’re looking to try out the Bonanza Brawl format yourself, you can use these links to get the rules and start playing! Bonanza Brawl Rules That’s all for this week, Wyrdos. We appreciate everyone who came out and made this AdeptiCon magnificent, and want to give special thanks to Sean O. for providing his beautiful terrain, and to Brandon L. (whom we are told now has a mustache) for monitoring our many events. Thank you all for another great AdeptiCon, and we hope to see you all there next year!

  17. Heya Wyrdos, The Wyrd Easter Sales event is upon us! For those new to the community or are unfamiliar with the Wyrd Sales events it is a fantastic time to get Limited Edition models, and some free goodies in the process! Until Thursday, April 4th you’ll be able to pick up some limited-edition boxes and models. Pick up the Skeleton King and his ghastly courtiers, set sail with Mary Bonnet and the Brine and Bones Crew, or Delve into the Deepest Depths with Adi Adara! But that’s not all. This year, we’ve got a model eager to hop into your Ten Thunders crews! The Stab-it Rabbit is yours free after spending $100! We’ve got quite the selection available for this sales event (including a new alternate of Alphonse LeBlanc, which some of you might’ve spotted at AdeptiCon!), so there’s no doubt you’ll be able to find a model that fits perfectly into your crews. And if that's not enough, for every additional $100 you spend, you’ll be able to pick a free alt model! Some of our favorites are listed below, but you can check them out in the webstore too; the alts will be available for purchase on their own as well! Now for some less exciting news: We want to inform our valued community of a recent hiccup that has impacted our shipping schedule. Due to a printing mishap, thankfully identified before our March shipments were dispatched, the release of some of our much-anticipated box sets (Noxious Atmosphere, Prey Slain, and Bloodletting) will now be postponed to April. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. That’s all this week Wyrdos. What LE models are you planning to pick up?
  18. Hey Wyrdos! This week, Waldo broke out the eggs, dye, and little dippers. That can only mean one thing: the Wyrd Easter Sale will soon be upon us! From March 27 to April 4, you’ll have the chance to pick up some limited-edition boxes and models. If you’re hopping to get a preview of a new offering, keep reading! The Stab-It Rabbit joins the Wyrd Easter lineup! This alt model represents the Lone Swordsman reimagined as he takes on new challenges with blade in hand. If you are looking to add some-bunny handy with a sword to your Crews (or just want some advice on using the Lone Swordsman), check out some tips and tricks from the design team: Stab-it Rabbit The Stab-it Rabbit is a sturdy Versatile model that can put out a lot of damage over the course of a Turn. Df 5, Armor +1 and Hard to Kill means the Stab-it Rabbit will take a lot of resources to kill. Adaptive and Ruthless means that its Balanced Sword is able to do minimum 3 damage by declaring r building in the Critical Strike Trigger. This will decimate models where Terrifying or Manipulative is their only Defensive Tech like Lady Yumi or Ledger de Main. The Stab-it Rabbit is also good against models with anti-Charge Tech like Extended Reach or Disguised as Creep Along and Last Breath both include a Push. All of this is without focusing on the Stab-it Rabbit’s unique Action Last Breath. Last Breath does a lot. It pushes the Stab-it Rabbit 5”, allows the Stab-it Rabbit to take a yAction and gives the Stab-it Rabbit +’s to Attack and Damage flips until the end of the Activation. This is the equivalent of a Charge and Focus, and gets around Disguised or Extended Reach. This means the Stab-it Rabbit can potentially do 12 points of damage to an opponent that is not prepared for it. It’s not all positive as Last Breath cannot target Minions and will do 4 irreducible damage to the Stab-it Rabbit if he does not kill his target. Getting the Most Out of the Stab-it Rabbit The Stab-it Rabbit is a model that works well with most Ten Thunders Crews as damage is always valuable. That said, he works especially well with Qi and Gong thanks to his Tactical Planning Trigger which allows him to generate Pass Tokens to use with Leverage. Adaptive is a very good Ability that gives him a lot of options on his turn. Outside of using it to build in the Critical Strike Trigger, Adaptive allows him to Slow two enemy models with Delay, gain two Pass Tokens with Tactical Planning, or swing four times with Quick Reflexes. Depending on the situation, any of these options may win a game which is even better than killing a single model. If the Stab-it Rabbit focuses on Last Breath, it benefits from being paired with a model that can Heal as it won’t always finish off its target. Hiring a Tanuki or Low River Monk to follow behind a Stab-it Rabbit allows him to be more aggressive with Last Breath. Last Breath is most effective against Enforcers and Enforcer-heavy crews as it cannot target Minions and Soulstone damage prevention is a big problem for the Stab-it Rabbit. That’s all for this week, Wyrdos. Full details about the sale and what’s available will be coming soon, so keep your eyes peeled. In the meantime, start devising some fun springtime lists filled with your favorite alts. I hear taking a few War Rabbits is definitely in season this year…
  19. @Neverborn Againyou I'm shooting yout a forum message to discuss your question.
  20. In part two of "Cry Havoc," Lord Justin Cooper seeks ever more dangerous game to test his newly augmented body and lethal firearms. http://www.breachsidebroadcast.com/e/tales-of-malifaux-169/
  21. Hey Wyrdos! This week, Waldo decided to show us his brand-new invention: shape-changing ice! He claims the cubes turning into puddles is something nobody’s ever thought of before. While we share a few laws of thermodynamics with our beloved imp, let’s take a look at a pair who also love ice and changing shapes! A Crookskin is a Mimic who never integrated with society, be it Neverborn or human. They remain at the edges of Malifaux’s old places, using hidden pathways to go about their esoteric business unseen. Crookskin Crookskins are flexible models that fit in with both Mimic/Elite and Savage. Their Unruly Ability allows them to quickly Heal up off of friendly Obeys. Hard to Wound, Stealth, and an extra Health round out their defensive package. While sturdy, the real draw of a Crookskin is their Craven Imitations Action. Since it can be used as either a Bonus Action or a normal Action, it gives the Crookskin more flexibility during its own Activation, while still being able to be used in conjunction with Obey out of Activation. It has a lot of very interesting Triggers and with the built in Heal, it is a perfect target for The Old Ways. In Savage In Savage Crookskins are a cheap way to generate Ice Pillar Markers. Craven Imitations has the Icy Display Trigger built in, which will take pressure off of the rest of the Keyword to Create Ice Pillar Markers. If there are enough Ice Pillars on the board, the Heal plus Shielded from the Defensive Reflexes Trigger makes them strong tar pits. Startle is a surprisingly useful Action in a Savage Crew as many of the simple duels in Savage target Mv. In Mimic/Elite Mimic/Elite a Crookskin’s flexibility is shown off by how they fit into different Crew builds. If a player concentrates on Obey effects, treating Craven Images as a normal Action allows a Crookskin to Heal and set up a few defensive Triggers. If a player focuses on the Staggered Condition, Crookskin models have the Stagger Bonus Action and Agony targets Mv. Finally, if a player builds a Mimic heavy Stealth Crew, a Crookskin fits in perfectly there too. Outside of this flexibility, Crookskins make very good Scheme runners. The Old Ways lets a Crookskin set up the Sneak Away Trigger and the built-in Heal on Craven Imitations negates the damage from The Old Ways. Double Walking and Sneak Away can move a Crookskin about 18 inches away. Interact, Sneak Away, and Interact is also a great way to gather a lot of Intel Tokens in Cloak and Dagger. That’s all for this week, Wyrdos! How do you think you’ll be utilizing these cool creatures? They’re in Ashes of Malifaux and remember: you can get a copy for yourself right now! We’ve also got a promotion running at the moment as well, if you’re looking to add a book to your digital collection. (Click the image to submit your receipt!)
  22. Hey Wyrdos! Waldo’s been waking up on the wrong side of the bed this week. He’s been spending all his time shuffling around in his slippers with a little cup of coffee trying to be nefarious… but we feel his heart’s really only half into it. While we help Waldo get back into impish spirits, let’s take a look at another cantankerous creation in Ashes of Malifaux! The Plague Picker constructs were built to safely gather and dispose of corpses en masse. Unfortunately, they were mostly decommissioned due to their lack of distinction between the living and dead. Old Hob is one who escaped capture. He wanders happily through the Quarantine Zone, investigating whatever captures his cyclopean eye and childlike fancy. Hob’s still a multi-ton killing machine… woe befall anyone who gets in the way of his fun. Old Hob Old Hob is one of the new Versatile models from the Ashes of Malifaux release. As a Versatile model they bring a little bit of something to a lot of different Crews. In general, Old Hob is great in situations where you need a sturdy model to hold an area of the board. Df 5 with Armor +2 and a possible self Heal means that they’ll be hard to remove once they dig in. Old Hob is also amazing at area control with the Territorial Trigger which prevents them from being moved and the Construction Claw Action which Places the target. In Corpse Marker Focused Crews In Corpse Marker focused Crews like Seamus, McMourning, or Reva, Old Hob fits in perfectly. Old Hob is a wonderful source of Corpse Markers. Their Construction Claw Action has the Dismember Trigger and they Drop a Corpse Marker whenever they take damage thanks to It’s Raining Corpses. The fun doesn’t stop once they Drop Corpse Markers. Old Hob can throw them around the board with the Hurl Corpse Action which can do a surprising amount of damage with a Stat 7 on its Attack and the Collision Trigger. In non-Corpse Marker Focused Crews In Crews that are less focused on Corpse Markers, Old Hob still brings a lot of value. Armor is not a defensive tech that Resurrectionists are known for (outside of Von Schtook) so a large Armor +2 model is something that opponents will rarely tech against. Old Hob can remove a lot of Corpse Markers with the Corpse Picker Action, which is important against Crews that rely on Corpse Markers, like Nephilim. They’re also an interesting pick into Schemier Crews when hired along with a Gravedigger as It’s Raining Corpses will Drop a lot of Corpse Markers to use with the Gravedigger’s Field of Corpses Ability. Even without a Gravedigger, the Corpse Picker Action’s Leftover Parts Trigger can Drop a Scheme Marker for a surprise VP. In Gaining Grounds 4 In Gaining Grounds 4 Old Hob has a lot of options. While they are viable in most Strategies, Raid the Vaults is the one they excel at. They are a first-rate midfield threat that allows the rest of the Crew to target backfield Strategy Markers. They’re also a model that is hard to deal with as the Territorial Trigger stops enemy effects from moving or Burying them. This means that once they put up Territorial, the only way to stop them from counting towards Raid the Vaults is to kill them. Beyond Raid the Vaults, they are a solid counter in Stuff the Ballots because a 2” or 3” Melee range (with Territorial) can engage a lot of enemies. Old Hob is valuable in Schemes that revolve around damage and Markers. Old Hob works well in Sweating Bullets as they can engage Masters or Henchmen and survive the encounter. They’re useful in Death Beds as they can Drop Corpse Markers right next to enemies. They’re even good into Information Overload, as paired with a Gravedigger, they can flood the board with Scheme Markers. That’s all for this week, Wyrdos! How are you liking this enduringly rusty machine? Tell us how you plan to wield Old Hob in the comments!
  23. @Chou you caught the title reference in one go!
