Scoffer
A couple of days ago we were discussing "how to secure last place on a tournament without conceding?" in a local malifaux channel and somehow it turned into a brand new (fun) game mode. So for all of you bored with normal Malifaux I proudly introduce The ReverseFaux! ReverseFaux is played as a standard 50ss game of Malifaux with the following special rules: 1. Player who scores less VP - wins. 2. A tied game is a loss for both players. 3. At the beginning of the game each player must select 3 schemes from the pool instead of 2. 4. Player must reveal a scheme and score VP if able. 5. No more than 2 schemes can be scored. 6. The following encounter is used in all ReverseFaux games: Deployment: Wedge Strategy: corrupted idols. Schemes: take prisoner*, leave your mark, hold up their forces, bait and switch, recearch mission. * End game point for Take Prisoner is not scored if the chosen model was killed by an enemy-controlled model. Maniacal_cackle
Amazing xD Leave your mark is the main thing that stands out. How do you force your opponent to score that one? Also would it make sense to choose schemes for your opponent? For instance you could then swap LYM for claim jump, as you would know their schemes and they wouldn't. Some crews have more ways to score this but it's not a balanced mode (and simply don't take LYM when you see Parker). 55 minutes ago, Maniacal_cackle said: Also would it make sense to choose schemes for your opponent? Choosing schemes for opponent makes it the same old-fashioned malifaux with slightly differently written schemes and removes a huge part of mind-games. Not knowing what your opponent is trying not to score is the best part.
katadder
its not difficult to not score, just take a fast crew, avoid the enemy. Sounds pretty boring tbh, becomes like malifaux tag
