Incorporeal. Pushes. Climbable

Hollow

Question

Can Incorporeal models Push on top of Climbable terrain (e.g. during Charge)? Wordings:

Quote

Push
If a movement effect indicates that it is a Push, the movement must be in a straight line and may not be broken up into smaller horizontal segments. All Pushing is horizontal (though models may change elevation if they Push horizontally along a staircase or hill; see pg. 39 for more details).
If a Pushed model encounters another model or Impassable Terrain during this movement, its movement is interrupted and stops.

Quote

Climbable: Models may not move through Climbable Terrain, but they may move across its top (often a roof) and may move vertically up and down along its sides. Other than its top, all other portions of Climbable terrain are treated as Impassable. If a model ignores this terrain trait, it may still move vertically up and down along the sides of this terrain.

Quote

What does “ignoring Terrain” mean?
a) A model that ignores Terrain ignores and is unaffected by all of that terrain’s traits. If the Terrain is Impassable, the model may move through (but not end in) the terrain as though it weren’t there. Ignoring terrain does not allow a model to ignore the vertical distance of that terrain, so if the model wanted to move on top of terrain, it would still need to move that vertical distance using that terrain’s Climbable Trait.

Quote

Incorporeal: This model ignores terrain while moving...

As I can see, as far as Incorporeal model pays penalty for vertical movement, nothing is violated. Impassable trait is ignored, movement isn't stopped. You can move along the side of Climbable via any movement (Push is a type of Move). Am I missing something?

According to page 14, it is only during a walk action that you can move vertically on climbable terrain. At all other times you will fall back to the ground when ever you leave the ground.

Pushs only allow you to change elevation on specified terrain (hills and staircases which have special rules).

Perhaps it would be worth to clarify this in future Errata. Duplicate that Climbable and Walk are strictly related to each other in Climbable wording too. Since now Climbable refers to Move (not Walk), it seems unobvious.

I can definitely understand any confusion when it comes to a “move.”  Pushes a bit less so, as push is called as always a horizontal move.

Note that the rules never actually say only walk actions allow you to move up climbable terrain, so that's worth disputing.

However, the FAQs make it clear you can't push up them.

So each meta has to decide for themselves how to play that one.

Strictly true, but they do only grant permission to not be supported during a walk action whilst on climbable terrain. I do wish the climbable trait mentioned walk actions to stop the arguments

(the argument that says the climbable trait on its on is enough to allow it does make the whole paragraph in the rule book about moving where it grants permission for you to be suspended in mid air during a walk action on climbable terrain seem very strange.  If you read the section on climbable terrain in conjuction with the rules on moving it looks very obvious.)
