TheMouthOfSauron
I recently purchased the Other Side starter box, for all the Kirai goodness inside, and I have to say I was quite disappointed with the quality of the pre-assembled models. Prominent mold lines, rigid plastic that is hard to trim and a definite drop in quality of details makes me hope that these sculpts might someday see a release on sprues in the same plastic used normally. A friend of mine also recently purchased the Outcasts versatile box, as well as the ES botanists, and again the quality of the models is well below par with what Wyrd normally put out. I really hope that these pre-assembled models are seen as the failed prototypes they clearly are, and we can return to the confidence that all future releases will be as awesome as everything that came before! Thanks Wyrd!
solkan
For the sake of discussion, please keep in mind that the TOS starter set is at the price point that it is because of the material and manufacturing choices made for it. Hard plastic for that set would easily be $200-$250, assuming Wyrd had the spare production budget. 1
Shadowopal
Also all of these sets you mention other than the botanists are intended to be starter sets for new players. Pre-assembled makes it far easier for people to jump into the game.
BadLuckBear
Nothing wrong with the quality of my TOS set. The sculpt of Kirai is beautiful.
