Summoning question with rare trait.

I understand if you have a Rare 2 trait on a model you have only have 2 of those in your crew or summoned.

Let's say you have 2 models in play with Rare 2.  My question is if one of your summoned models dies leaving with only 1 in play can you summon that model again putting you back up to 2 total in play?

yes. 

A Crew may never exceed a model’s Rare limit through summoning. If, for example,
an Action would summon a Rare 1 model into a Crew when the Crew already has a
copy of that model on the table, the effect that summons the model fails. (page 60)

If you couldn't summon back a rare 1 model after it had died Yan los Reliquary would be pretty poor.

I'll also answer the inevitable follow up question about buried models.  While they don't count as "in play", they DO still count against Rare limit.
