Scheme markers

My game club  has been playing Malifaux for a few weeks now. We have a good grasp on the rules and are starting to play stratagies and schemes. My question is: How many Scheme Markers does a crew start with/generate/have access to? Some games require markers to be placed at certain points on the table. Can anyone in the crew place one? I lokd in the rules book but found no answer...

Any non engaged, non-insignificant model can place a scheme marker by taking a 1 interact action.

You can't place scheme markers within 4" of another friendly scheme marker.

There is no limit to the number of markers you can place.

You can't (1) Interact to place a scheme marker within 4" of another friendly scheme, some abilities can place a scheme marker without the interact action near other scheme markers.

Placing Scheme Markers by (1)Interact is described on P39. Various talents lets you place markers in other ways, those are described on the stat cards.

 

For most masters 10 markers will be plenty. Some masters, like Colette, can use a few more.

If I remember correctly you can also remove scheme markers through interact actions. Not sure if that is a (1) or (2) action. I don't have my rulebook in front of me at the moment, anyone able to clear this up for me?

From my understanding, there is no generic rule that allows you to move a marker once it's down. Many models have specific abilities that allow them to do so, but that's it as far as I know.

You can take a (1) interact to remove all scheme markers in base contact.

True, but you can't move them around the table without a specific ability is the point I was making.
