  1. Love how you went for the spiral on the base, like he's got a portal under him or some such. And agree with the others the OSL coming out of it is on point, just enough to capture it but not overdo it. Sometimes OSL can take over a piece. :)

  2. Love the light coming out of his helmet. I'd say that the middle could use a little more contrast, I get that it's lit up but it starts to feel a little fuzzy... my opinion here. He's really fun, and the OSL is awesome!

  3. I agree with prior comments that the base could use something. But it's an awesome figure. Those wings are especially striking and effective.

  4. That base has eyes! Whoa!

Love the feel of this, and really thanks for providing a close up of his wing, the detail of the veins on there is really really cool! So impressed with him!

  5. I know this is a 'Metal' competition, but let me take a moment and compliment you on the rocks here. I love that they aren't just brown or grey, but a solid red. I just got done vacationing in Colorado, went to Manitou and the Garden of the Gods, and your rocks remind me of those so much. They look so realistic. :)

  6. What everyone else has said, the colors and OSL are amazing. That 80's hair! LOL I personally feel that the chain might have more of the purple glow on it, but I've done two pieces with OSL so what the hell do I know? lol

Way to show us how it's done!

  7. This guy is a show-stopper! Wow... that rust, and I kinda like the matte black horse, he almost feels supernatural or otherworldly at least without any shimmering effects especially in comparison to the gleams on his armor. Really awesome and inspiring!

Lovely model. I'd try placing him further back on the base. It'll give more balance to the composition

He does kinda look like he's about to fall right off the edge and into the abyss doesn't he? LOL Kinda grabs your attention though...

  9. I really like how his foot is coming off the base, like 'he's going to come and get you!' LOL The organ colors are really nice, love the bronzed look. I think my overall impression is that the drybrushing (I'm assuming that's what was done) makes him look a little dusty... but that would be my only critique. Really fun work here! :)

  10. Cool effect, although I did think rust at first myself. Maybe a little brighter pop of color in the middle might have made it more obvious? Just a thought.  I really like the base, though, lots of little details there that make it feel more like a story. :)

  11. This is a really pretty piece, lots of light colors that really draw you in. I think I caught a seam line or two, model might have used a little extra work prepping... but again, so pretty!

  12. All of these amazing NMM paint jobs! I'm still in awe. The comments about the color pallet are interesting. I certainly love color myself (although I tend to muddy them up some), but I can see how more color would make it pop, at yet at the same time it has a very 'realistic' feel with it being more monochromatic. But either way... wow... those highlights! So many things to aspire to!

  13. Awesome, I love the highlights, very nicely done. And... while I understood the techniques I was not familiar with the terms NMM and TMM, so I went and looked them up and got some education on them. :) Always good to learn new things, and wow... amazing job at NMM, I haven't tried it yet, it looks hard, but you did great!

  14. Well you inspired me to go out and watch like five tutorials on how to make paint look chipped like that. :) Haven't attempted it yet, but looking forward to trying soon. This is awesome!!
