The effect on the sword is striking, but I found it a little hard to tell whether it was meant to be rust, glare effects or magic. Don't forget to put metal on his buttons!

Hi Brad,

It is supposed to be the metal skin of the blade burning away in the same manner as when you hold a lighter underneath a sheat of paper. I painted the blade in the burning colors first and then went with removable paste.

However the effect is far above my paygrade but it is good to challenge yourself I suppose.

With the frame of reference I think you did a pretty good job of pulling it off! I wouldn’t have thought of even trying that effect, so good on you for thinking outside the box! 

Wonderful work on the sword. Try to remember to reach part of the model. I feel like if you gave the hair a bit more attention the model would sing. Either a shade or highlight

Cool effect, although I did think rust at first myself. Maybe a little brighter pop of color in the middle might have made it more obvious? Just a thought.  I really like the base, though, lots of little details there that make it feel more like a story.
