  1. Thank you Lucious , It as a chore and I spent pretty much the whole Sunday filling them. The Nivea works perfect, use that Stuff Guys. The first Time I tried it and it makes live so easy, you can really work the GS into the Gaps and smoothen the Surface. Especially Huggy and the big Illuminated gain a lot by hiding the Gaps adn creating seamless connections. (Just make sure to wash and scrub them in soapy water after a night of drying Time to loose any Residue) The Bases are Micro Arts Copplestone Bases. Usually I make my own (boring Sand+Tufts) Bases but this Time I wanted to try some premade ones and I like them. I chose them primarily because they are rather cheap and most shops carry them: http://shop.microartstudio.com/cobblestone-c-3_12.html PS: I found that the Bases are a mm smaller in Diameter than the regular ones. And because of the way they are sculpted and how Big the Baseedge is, you will find that there is less room For a Mini than on regular lipped Bases from Wyrd. That sprimarily a concern with those 30mm ones. Will be hard to get Lynch AND the Skeletton on a single Base.
  2. Another one of those intimidating Threads, love your Color Choices and smooth Transitions! Especially now that I have seen how delicate those Plastics are, they put the fear of God in me...
  3. This is killing me, only amazing Painters in here . Loved your showgirsl as well. I tip my Hat and go Hide under the Carpet.
  4. Ya, I got my 2nd Crew yesterday and have working on it since then. I´ll be honest: Hasn`t been the easiest task, I went in thinking that afer 15 Years of assembling Plastics it would be the easiest thing ever, but man some of those pieces are really small and fiddly . Messed up some areas and hope I can hide them with Stuffing and painting. Interestingly I kinda hated Huggy in the Beginning, but I am really warming up to that Thing and I am loving Graves. But I sadly have to say that I am dissapointed by Jacob himself, the Pose is cool but one to me really important Thing I miss is the "expression" in his Face, no emotion, nothing. Its bland and he looks a tad like a Puppet. I would have loved an arrogant smirk or something like that. And I have no clue how I am going to Paint any Eyes on those minis, they are nearly no existent. And its A LOT of Gap filling, I hate Gaps and never understand why People paint a Mini without trying to fill them, it pulls down the whole Paintjob. But ist a lot of work and I am rather´bad with Green Stuff. I have started to use Nivea Creme to help me smoothen the Epoxy and it has been a great help, you can even use your fingers to smoothen Areas. I do have Liquid Green Stuff as well, but I hate the shrinkage and think that with deeper Gaps like on those Minis you need to start with the regular Putty first. All in all I would say really cool Models with amazing Poses, but the Details look soft/shallow and the Faces are a Letdown. I hope that I wil do a decent Job painting them. This probably sounded more negative than its meant to be, I am looking forward to put them on the Table and don`t regret the Purchase.
  5. Look what you devious beings made me do with your Dark Whispers. I hadn`t planned at all in upping my Order. And no its not me being weak and throwing around money I don`t have, its clearly you Guys and somekind of Dark Magic . As you can see I went with Lynch, loving the Background and the Models apart from Huggy but he will do for now. Next planned Steps anddn Thoughts: 1) Sonnia Box Set. I like the Stalker Models and love Samael Sculpt (how does he fair in a LJ Crew? I like the idea of him and the Stalker together burning Things to the ground). 2)I thought about the Latigos, but somehow the whole Family Vacation Thing hasn`t convinced me so far. But i would love to get myself that old Francisco Metal Sculpt, prefer him to the Sombrero Version and his Rules look cool as well. 3) Hoffman is to much Steampunk to paint for moment (My Taste tends too switch every half hour) 4) I think for Lynch I will get Tannen and the Beckoners first and after that the Depleted, pretty much the whole Theme as I have fallen in love with everything that goes with those Guys, Background, Gameplay and Miniatures, great Stuff. 5) I thought about the Lone Ranger but he is way too expensive for my Taste and the sculpt has some Areas I really dislike (whats up with those way too Fat Hat Brims? You could club someone to Death with those). Shame as I would love to strengthen the whole Death Marshall thing, but I am sure there will be other Models down the Line, can`t wait for a new Exorcist. Great Question Carcossa, I think Theme allways trumps Gameplay for me, as long as it doesn`t mean that I have to pick something downright shitty. I like to win Games as much as next as the next Guy but not in a WAAC way. I prefer narrative Gaming and can`t wait for a proper Campaign system as Malifaux has a certain Mordheim on crack feel to me and I would love to find a proper replacement to one of my favourite Games. Money is allways a consideration, see the example wit the Lone Ranger. I tend to pick single Models over Boxes usually and grow slowly, but with malifaux I think getting the Crew Boxes is a great way to get a flexible collection. Like said Theme is important, but having said that I think in Malifaux its easy to explain/understand why you run thematically mixed Crews, there is a lot of overlap and well...they live in the same city and are tied in Background, so I am not going to slave myself too only running Death Marshall Models for example. Appologies fro my ramblings again, let me know if I am making sense. AND THANK YOU GUYS SO MUCH for all the help, really appreciated! Edit: Oh and having the cards now, I experimented a bit with Mechanics, run the Judge against Mr. Graves to get a Feel. Fun Stuff, beat each other to pulp and actually killed each other in the same turn because of Graves black blood. Made me chuckle as I had thought the Judge would own him and had a certain cinematic feel to it. Playing against oneself is a atd sad, but its the best way to get a first grasp on Things
  6. Thanks Ausplosions, if thats so I would ask you Guys again for your help. How would good 50SS Lists look using the two Boxes as a starting point? When I tried them myself I simply threw in 3 additional Witchling Stalkers for LJ and the 2 Beckoners and Mr. Tannen for Jacob. But that felt a bit like a clumsy Try. And Iam doing a lot of reading on the Lynch Crew, man taht Crew sounds fun. Thematically and Gameplaywise . Huggy and the Illuminated nearly read broken to my uneducated mind, especially if you were able to give some Brilliancea round . Lynch himself kills people with my Handcards...how cool is that . I like the whole Bodyguard Idea of Graves, while he doesn`t synergize on the first Glance, its actually nice that he simply can do his Thing and keep Lynch and Tannen alive..and punch People. Still trying to understand the Beckoners (primarily spreading more Brilliance?) and Tannen (looking like a shifty, slimy Mofo?!). I actually feel a tad guilty because from one moment to the other I am more interested in dreaded Neverborns than my beloved lady J...
  7. Thank you Dgraz, I am probably coming over harsher than I mean to be . Great that you like them, my thanks! I experimented with some Glazes around Nose and Lips and tried some Beard Stubble for the first Time, I think its a major improvement and I like the Face way more than before. I tend to post a lot of WIPs, it kinda motivates me to keep going, let me know if its too much and you would rather see only finished Stuff.
  8. Haven`t read the whole Thread just yet but will for sure, couldn`t be more Jealous about your smooth and soft Painting Style!
  9. Loving those Bases, seing Stuff like this allways makes me reconsider my Lazy aproach to Basing...but then I AM Lazy
  10. Still blocking colors in, you can see I am rather slow (Having the computer near doesn`t help) . I now think he looks better than I had feared before. I plan on using some Blood effec coming out from under the Blindfold and around the Nails in his Arms, that should allow me to hide some rough spots. I have no experience with them though so it could easily mean messing up the whole Thing. I like the sculpt way more than the newer Plastic one, but at the same Time I should jhave probably started with the Judge as he looks easier (at least I hope). Still I think it will look cool on the Tabletop . PS: I read a Discussion about that in here today: I never mind Constructive Criticism in my Threads, if you show something you need to be ready for honest Feedback!
  11. Thank you so much Guys fro your kind words. Glad you like them. Follow along Otylia, glad to have you aboard. Yeah, I tend to be highly critical with my own Stuff, I live in an environment with amazing Painters which make syour own Stuff allways look a tad off. And yourself allways know how you wanted a model to look or what went wrong. And I pretty much only can paint Short ,Bearded Stuff...anaything else get troubling. The Scales are a good example. I have several coats on the Skin now and simply can`t get it right. But I am gonna keep it as it is now, not the easiest sculpt to paint and its getting only worse with each try. I will try to Hide a lot under some Blood effect At the same Time I thinks its god that I need to Paint Stuff outsiede my comfort Zone, thats the Best way of learning Things.
  12. Greetings, After being welcomed rather nicely and some amazing Insights I sat down and started to actually paint. right now I have the Scales of Justice on my Table but nothing to show so far. I am not a great PAinter but getting to a point where I am reaching a Tabletop Standard I am satisfied with. While I would love to get better I am really prone to procrastinating and getting Sidetracked. I love painted Miniatures and try to avoid playing with unpainted Stuff as much as possible, sadly this means I nearly never play anymore. I would love to change that. To be honest I don`t particularly enjoy painting itself, but love the result. Doesn`t help that my favorite Stystem is Warhammer Fantasy Battles which requires loads of Minis to paint. Recent Years I have spent with collecting Vintage Dwarves from the 80s and 90s, a collection close to my Heart. I do play dozens of Systems as I am allways looking for shiny Stuff, that only grows the daunting Lead Pile... Here are some of my painted Minis, no Malifaux so far but I hope to chage that in the coming months, if People are interested I could use this Corner to show anything I paint not only Malifaux. Cheers T edit: Mistyped my own Nickname in the Title D`OH
  13. Ah thanks for the Info, it was Fantasyladen, maybe I should ask them about that!
  14. Yeah, I ordered the Arsenal pack 1, had to google the contents as they weren`t that easy to find. On Graves vs BEckoners I``ll be honest, the impatience is a driving Factor . I could order somwhere else, but the chosen Shop has great Discounts. For the Crews I came up with those 35SS Beginner Lists. Not many Upgrades so far as I think it make sense to ease oneself in. And I have no clue what Lucius Stuff does , need to do some serious reading on him. Not sure if the Badge of Office is a bit Overkill, especially if the other Side runs no Upgrades, but I was wasting Soulstones and had to pick something. I hope this makesfor some great Learning Games and nailbiting Match Ups. Can`t thank you Guys enough so far!
  15. Thank you so much Guys, this was insanely helpful , Jacob Lynch has just made it to the Top of the Cue, while I haven`t read up on him much I really like the Them and teh Mdoels (okay, I too think Huggy looks rather odd but alas I can live with it or simply proxy in something more menacing). I Still really like Pandora, but the Lynch Crew is so Out there its what I like about this Game. Thank you for for teh advice on teh Dreamer, its what i thought. I do have the Arsenal pack 2 for the Guild incoming. I think I need to sit on my Hands and paint up both Crews before I put new additions in. I am leaning towards the Stalkers (although the Metal ones had more Details I think). My Dealer has no Beckoners availlable, how would Mr. Graves do instead? He doesn`t provide the same kind of Uitility if I read Things right, but he looks like the forgotten Brother of Jason Fisk on a Bad day and looks great next to Lynch. Or does it make mrore sense to wait till they are finally back in Stock because they are that much better of a choice (which could take a while)
  16. Wow, that was fast. Thank you kindly for the Welcome Guys ! Perfect, gotta love me some Schnitzel Yes, i do have some Ideas. i posted some way too long ramblings in the Beginners Section Meinen besten Dank I am located in the Stuttgart/Ludwigsburg Area. Most people I know around here play Warhammer (which I love), Warmahordes (got a Faction but realized that I couldn`t stand the Game) and Infinity (used to really love it, but the Meta here has become REALLY competetive and gamey, nothing wrong with that but I am way too laid Back for that and more interested in narrative play). At least this was the State last Time I checked, haven`t played anything in ages. Cheers Guys!
  17. Hello Wyrdos, First of all let me thank all those People who put together those availlable and great ressources, my Eyes are still red from a night of reading and trying to wrap my Head around Things. And Thanks to Wyrd for a lovely oddball Game. Back in 2012 I picked up a Death Marshall Box and LJs Totem because I loved the idea and that ladies Sculpt. Sadly I never got around to playing it for the Lack of opponents and the fact that I play loads of Games (Yau all know Gamer ADD). Now some years later I feel the urge to look back into Things. I decided that I need to pick up a 2nd Crew and simply force people violently to play with me . I know the following Questions probably mirror every 2nd Question in here, I tried to read up as much myself as possible but its not an easy task. And sometimes I feel like I am reading a forbidden Tome in a foreign Language. I picked up the rules Manual, every Chronicle and looked up the Wiki. Maybe you Guys find the Time to help me along the Path. My financial Means are rather limited and every purchase has to be planned well. 1) For the 2nd Crew I would love some Neverborn. Lilith is out of the Question as I dislike the Starter and since Lady J is allready more of a Melee Master, I would like something diffferent on the opposing side. 2) I am undecided between Pandora, the Dreamer and maybe Jacob Lynch. It should be interesting but manageable for Beginners. 3) It should make for a balnced and interesting Match up. I know the Balancing has become rather good with 2E, but maybe I am picking up something thats a hard counter for the opposing side which especially for Beginners would make for a bad experience. 4) My Death Marshalls seem to come in between 30 to 35 SS, I found it hard to build that with the dreamer Starter. I fi took him I would be mor einterested in the Lord Chompy route for starters as it is easier to manage financially. And I got the feeling that some Key Nightmares/Models for him are not rereleased yet. But I just LOVE the Background of that Kid. 5) With Pandora I a not sure about the starter as it feels like the included Miniatures are a tad flimsy and you really need to know what you are doing, what would be needed to make it an managable Match up so Pandora can start to chip away? What i also like about the Boy is that most of it can easily proxy in other Games for Spirits. I love it when I can use my Stuff cross system. 6) What to add to my Marshalls next? I know that the most boring Question but there seem to be a lot of viable Options and I can only pick one. Witchlings, Austringers, Dogs, Executioners etc...the Options are limitless but I feel the urge to add something lovely (should fit the Theme adn round ou my Crew a bit more), and preferably something thats availlable. 7) Any thoughts on Jacob Lynch, that Box went past me and I just saw it, most of the Models look rather cool. Thanks a bunch if you made it this far and even more thanks if you find the Time to get back to me. Any help is more than appreciated! (PS: English isn`t my native Tongue so applogies for any clumsy sentences and Typos)
  18. Finally took the Plunge and signed up. Have been following this Game for some years but never got around to playing it because of the Lack of Players. Now I decided thats no reason to not try it out Cheers T
