  1. Too bad, thanks for clarifying though!
  2. That hat is amazing!!! I meant can the austringer pick up a fallen hat with the hawk
  3. Really good points about the witch long stalkers. So could I use the austringer to pick up Seamus's hat after shooting it off with the interact?
  4. So brand new to the game and starting with lady J (box set caught my eye, I love every one of the models in it... Hopefully I like the story when the rulebook arrives). We are starting a local playgroup and the majority of the time I will be facing the victorias, Seamus (whole lot of Seamus), collette, and ten thunders. We are going to start small at 25 soul stones and slowly expand to 35 and then 50, and then I hope to bring it out to some conventions like captain con and templecon. What is some good anti Seamus tech that the guild can bring to the table? As I move to 50 points, what pieces should I be looking to add? Looking towards tournaments in a convention atmosphere where my local meta won't matter as much, should I be looking at different models at 50 points? Who shores up more of lady js bad matchups, perdita or Sonia (and which crew box has more useful models for lady j). And lastly I really like the guild riflemen models, are they good on the table?
  5. Yeah I definitely second simple green!!!
  6. They look cool, but how often will you have the space on the table with terrain and models to lay it down
  7. So I'm just starting malifaux after playing a lot of warmachine over the last couple years. I am trying to get a regular gaming group going, and I'm trying to provide enough terrain for about 3-4 tables. Currently I have enough terrain for about 8 warmachine tables, what should I expand with. I have: - about 7-9 6" long walls - 2 sets of Pegasus games barrels (about 12-14 barrels) - 2 gw watchtowers -3 gw shacks (came with watchtowers) - gw house - rail car and train tracks - about 24" of river parts - a couple of graves and statues - about 8 hills of different sizes - about 5-6 ruins of buildings (usually a corner or side, some with second levels to stand on). - 2 gw forests - 3 forests with remove able trees. -large 2 story house with flat roof - small assorted rough terrain.
  8. Short answer, nope. Long story: started with card games (Star Wars, l5r,) moved on to gw games (40k, lotr), took a break due to being irritated with gws product and attitude, then got into warmachine 3 years ago. Picked up xwing a year ago. Was looking for a small scale game that I could use so I didn't burn out on warmachine in between tourney/ con prep and found malifaux. Really excited about the low cost of entry, the awesome looking plastics, the large amount of terrain, and the interesting story
  9. Sounds good, rob and I are both interested in malifaux (and he has a few gangs allready). And we are at togit on most Thursdays
  10. Voorhees is a solid hour and a half from me which makes it tough to get out to play casually. It would be awesome to start up a regular night and slow play at togit though
  11. Hey you guys, I'm also in the TOGIT area and looking to try out Malifaux!
  12. Hey everyone! I have been playing Warmachine for a little over 2 years now, have a regular play night and make it out to cons and tourneys. I saw the Malifaux models, and was really attracted to the small model count, the cool models, what looks like a lot of terrain, and what looks like a pretty low cost of entry. I live around Clinton, NJ 08801... I work out in Perth Amboy, NJ. I usually go to The Only Game in Town for gaming but there really isnt a Malifaux community there. Does anyone know of any local NJ or PA groups? Are there regular tourneys or conventions? Right now I'm leaning towards the guild. I like the look of all of the models in the box set with lady justice, and like the combined arms approach. I also like the way the hired guns looks, but I don't think I want a melee force. I would also want to pick up a second starter box so other people could learn along with me. Are there any good matchups for the guild set? (leaning towards more of the horror sets... like the red chapel or no shelter here. My gf likes the horror side of things, along with female main characters). Any tips for getting started? reviews/ tip sites that I should check out?
